Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Newton’s Nook Designs May Release!
I’m so excited to introduce you today the very first stamp set of this fantastic release and I’m sure you’re going love it since it’s couldn’t be any cuter!
Today all the Design Team is showcasing a brand new fun, cute and absolutely adorable WINSTON’S TEE TIME stamp set along with the coordinating dies. It’s small, but filled with the amazing images and great sentiments! I LOVE this clever stamp set because masculine cards haven’t ever been so easy to create. In fact, I just couldn’t leave you with only one example!
Giveaway alert!! NND is giving this stamp set away to one lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!
And here’s what I came up with. I started with a watercolor shaker card totally inspired by the golf theme so a green watercolor background and some holes were a must-have! LOL!
I started by stamping the cutie bear, the flag and a bunch of balls to fill my shaker area with a waterproof ink on a watercolor paper and made my watercoloring both on the stamped images and the background. I worked in layers starting very light and progressively adding more colors to the areas that are in shade. Once the watercolor elements were dry, I die-cut them using the coordinating dies that come with WINSTON’S TEE TIME stamp set and three holes on my background piece with a small circle die. At this point I also added my sentiment from the same stamp set stamping it with the same black ink I used before.
Assembling the card, I popped up the watercolor background on a foam tape and filled the shaker area with the golf balls and some matching sequins and beads before attaching it to the card base. Finally I popped up on a foam as well Winston and other small element for a bit of dimension.
My second version is a copic one. But I just couldn’t help playing more with holes and the golf theme making the cutie Winston peeking out from inside.
So I switched to the copic friendly ink and paper and stamped, colored and die-cut with the coordinating dies the images from WINSTON’S TEE TIME stamp set. As always at the bottom of this post you can find all the exact copic markers I used.
Then I proceeded completing the card base. I trimmed an additional A2 size panel and die-cut three holes on it. Placing it on top of my card base, I marked the areas matching the holes and added a bit of color inkblending blue-green shades of Distress inks. Finally I popped on top with a foam tape the additional panel and the colored images and finished with a heat embossed sentiment on a black cardstock.
