Holiday Card Series 2020 – Snow-One Else Like You! (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

Snow-one Else Like You #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Snowman Greetings stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!

I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a cute winter card featuring new Snowman Greetings and Snowfall Roundabout stamp sets! I looooooove so much the adorable snowman from Snowman Greetings set since it has the cutest design and can incorporate the greetings inside the wood sign. Just genius!!!

To start, I die cut the snowman using the coordinating Snowman Greetings Die Set on Copic X-Press paper. I saved the negative part of the die and used it as a guide inside the MISTI tool to help me with the alignment while I was stamping the outline image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Finally I colored the snowman with copic markers.

In case you’re wondering, I’m leaving all the exact colors used on this project: COPIC MARKERS

The snowflakes from Snowfall Roundabout were heat embossed in white on Neenah Solar White paper. I blended on top Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink with a very light hand, creating an ombré effect. Finally the snowflake background was framed inside the circle, die cut from the coordinating Circle Frames Die Set, and popped on an extended A2 size kraft card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) along with the snowman. A generous coat of a clear shimmer pen and some matching sequins finished this winter card!

Deck The Halls #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton's Candy Cane stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
Today, just to stay on topic, I decided to hang up some holiday ornaments along with the cutest mischievous kitty on my card front. To start, I made the die cutting to achieve all the shapes I needed, using the coordinating Newton’s Candy Cane Die and Holiday Lights Die sets plus my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I worked on Copic X-Press paper and made the stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, using the outline illustrations from Newton’s Candy Cane stamp and Holiday Lights stamp sets. Next I colored all the stamps with copic markers.

An extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) was trimmed and scored from Neenah Solar White paper. I stamped the matching sentiment from Christmas Trimmings stamp set in the top right conner and then added a couple of tone on tone snowflakes through Snowfall stencil with a plain white embossing paste. I let the embossing paste air dry and then hand draw the stitched lines with a black marker. Finally I popped all the colored stamps on a foam tape. A generous coat of a clear shimmer pen and a few sparkling sequins gave a finished touch to this project.

Happy New Year #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Happy New Year stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

The last day of the release has reserved us two new absolutely amazing stamp sets. The first one features a well known, super cute kitty Newton in new Newton’s Snowman stamp set that comes with the coordinating Newton’s Snowman Die Set. Then we have small but nor less wonderful Happy New Year stamp set that can be used on its own or paired with other paper craft products to send cheerful greetings to your family and friends.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away new Newton’s Snowman stamp set to a lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

My first card features Newton’s Snowman stamp and die sets! Since it’s a watercolor project, I switched to my favorite Strathmore Bristol paper and waterproof VersaFine Onyx Black ink. As always, I made the die cutting first using the coordinating Newton’s Snowman Die Set and my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. Once finished with stamping, I colored the cute kitties and the snowman with Tombow markers.

And here’re all the colors used by me on this card: TOMBOW MARKERS N25, N79, 158, 491, 723, 933, 969, 977, 992 plus Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers n.45 Pale Green and n.61 Light Brown.

The scalloped background square was die cut from Frames Squared Die Set and inked through Snowfall stencil. First I added a light layer of the snowflakes with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and then highlighted a few elements with a brighter Broken China Distress Oxide shade. The matching sentiment was heat embossed in white on a dark grey cardstock and then die cut inside the faux stitched circle from Circle Frames Die Set. Finally all the elements were assembled together on an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) made from Neenah Solar White paper.

My second card that features Happy New Year stamp set, turned out as a colorful rainbow project! To start, I trimmed a piece of Neenah Solar White paper slightly smaller than a regular A2 size card base. I taped well Tiny Trees stencil on top and inked every row of trees with a different shade.

These are all the exact Distress inks used by me starting from the top: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seeds, Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover, Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Wilted Violet plus Worn Lipstick.

The card base was trimmed and scored to an extended A2 size card (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from a light grey cardstock. I popped the rainbow inked piece on a foam tape and then layered on top a vellum rectangle die cut with Frames & Flags Die Set. My favorite way to secure vellum on cards are tiny glue dots that allow to keep everything nice and clean. Happy New Year sentiment was heat embossed on black with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder which is a beautiful color in between gold and silver. Finally a few clear droplets finished this colorful card.

Newton’s Nook Designs Winter Release and Giveaway – Day 3 – Snowman Roundabout

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Newton’s Nook Winter release! Thanks so much for joining me today!

All the new Holiday products will be available for purchase on Friday, November 20th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!

Stay Frosty #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Snowman Roundabout stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Today I’m so happy to introduce you amazing Snowman Roundabout stamp set. Love the gorgeous design of this new set filled with lots beautiful details! As you can guess, Snowman Roundabout stamp set coordinates perfectly with Circle Frames Die and Banner Trio Die sets like other products from the NND Roundabout collection.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away new Snowman Roundabout stamp set to a lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

My card turned out as a clean and simple project! To start, I placed the big illustration from Snowman Roundabout stamp set inside the MISTI tool since I like to ink and stamp the image a couple of times to get a good impression with nice and black outlines. I used Copic X-Press paper and and Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then proceeded with coloring.

As always, I’m sharing the complete list of all COPIC MARKERS used here: R21-R24-R29; RV00-RV02-RV04; RV10-RV13-RV25; Y11-Y13-Y18; YR00-YR04-YR09-YR17; BG10-BG15-BG34; YG01-YG05-YG09; E43; cheeks R00.

Once finished with coloring, I transformed Snowman Roundabout stamp into a Christmas ornament by using Circle Frames Die and Ornamental Shaker Die sets. The whole project was arranged on an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) made from Neenah Solar White paper. I glued directly on the card front a light gray patterned paper from Subtle Grey Tones paper pad. The other layers were popped on a foam tape to give a bit of a fun dimensional look. The sentiment from the same Snowman Roundabout stamp set was heat embossed with a fine white embossing powder on grey. As finish touches, I added a few Crystal White Nuvo Drops along with some matching sequins, white gel pen details and a generous coat of a clear shimmer pen.

Newton’s Nook Designs Winter Release and Giveaway – Day 2 – Snowfall Roundabout

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Newton’s Nook Winter release! Thanks so much for joining me today!

All the new Holiday products will be available for purchase on Friday, November 20th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!

Flurry of Thanks #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Snowfall Roundabout stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Today I’m so happy to introduce you amazing Snowfall Roundabout stamp set. This set is a great addition to the NND Roundabout collection and as all other stamps from this series it coordinates perfectly with Circle Frames Die and Banner Trio Die sets.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away new Snowfall Roundabout stamp set to a lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

On my stop of this hop you’ll find a super simple and easy heat embossed project! To start, I trimmed a piece of a dark blue cardstock (Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy) slightly smaller than an extended A2 size card base. I treated the cardstock with a generous coat of powder from the embossing powder tool to achieve a nice and clean impression and prevent the embossing powder to stick everywhere. Then I sticked Snowfall Roundabout stamp set to the lid of the MISTI tool and inked it well with VersaMark clear sticky ink – my favorite for heat embossing. I sprinkled the cardstock with a fine white embossing powder and then finally zapped it with the preheated heat gun. I managed to get the perfect image immediately, but if you missed some areas and use a stamping positioning tool, you can always go back and heat embossed another time. I cut the heat embossed image in the center and started working on the background.

Flurry of Thanks #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Snowfall Roundabout stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I trimmed a narrow piece from scarps and glued on top the vertical stripes of red and pink cardstocks in this order:

Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red cardstock
Simon Says Stamp Doll Pink cardstock
Bazzill Lollipop cardstock
Bazzill Candy Hearts cardstock
Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red cardstock.

I let the glue air dry and then added the matching heat embossed sentiment from Snowfall Roundabout stamp set, reaping the same exact steps I did before for the snowflakes. Finally the card was assembled on an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) made from Neenah Solar White paper and embellished with red and white Nuvo drops.
