I’m sooooooo excited joining today the Design Team and the featured guests for the Newton’s Nook Designs Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!!
I started with Winston’s Home For Christmas stamp set and the adorable bear in the car filled with lots of holiday stuff that was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on a piece of a watercolor paper along with a part of the matching sentiment (the word “Christmas was cut apart) and then colored with regular watercolors. Next the whole piece was framed with a scalloped die from Frames & Flags die set.
Then came a fun part as I took a piece of Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheet and added on top my out design through Petite Snow stencil using the Deco Foil Transfer Gel and once dried foiled it with Silver Deco Foil by Therm O Web and a hot laminator. And wow!!! I turned out perfectly!!!! Next I scored a regular A2 size card base and cut out a window inside the front part with Framework die set, adhered my silver snowy pattern from the back side and covers the edged by another die cut frame. Last but not least I decided to add more sparkle die cutting the big word Christmas from Holiday Greetings die set and using Toner Sheets instead of a regular paper so that I cam run it through a heat laminator with a Red Deco Foil.
There are more amazing projects today over on the Therm O Web blog so pop over there for more inspiration!
Merry Makers set has a few super cute elves and so I decided to challenge myself and make a card using only one stamp set. To start I stamped all the characters on Strathmore Bristol paper with VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof, colored with water based markers and fussy cut leaving a little white edge around.
Here’s the complete list of all the markers I used:
TOMBOW MARKERS: n.885, n.947.
ZIG CKLEAN COLOUR REAL BRUSH MARKERS: n.41 Light Green, n.50 Yellow, n.51 Lemon Yellow, n.61 Light Brown, n.64 Oatmeal, n.71 Flesh Colour, n.72 Beige, n.91 Light Gray, n.94 Gray Brown.
I was not satisfied how the elves were fitting on a regular A2 size card base and so I prepared a longer one measuring 7½” x 3½” from a plain white cardstock. I also trimmed an additional rectangle slightly smaller than the card base where I die cut 3 circles using Zig Zag Stitched Circles SugarCuts. Before starting assembling everything together, I stamped the sentiment using the same Merry Makers set and the same VersaFine black ink.
Finally I popped all the elements on a foam tape and added a fun dotted pattern to the card base using Spots & Stripes Brights paper pad.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!
Hello and welcome!!!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a cute card with a winter scene!
I mixed and matched a lot of fun stuff creating this project! The cutest critters were die cut with the coordinating Deer Friend Die Set and then stamped using Deer Friend stamp set with My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink since it’s copic friendly. I’ve also added a few festive Santa’s hats from Ornamental Newton stamp set.
And here’re all the exact copic markers I used on my card: E30-E31-E33-E35-E37; R000-R11; Y00-Y21; R35-RV29-R39; YG01-YG17; C1-C3; 100.
For the background I used Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress inks along with Forest Scene Builder and Land Borders Die Sets. The big bold sentiment from Sentiments Of The Season stamp set was heat embossed with a fine white embossing paste and finally the falling snow effect was added through Petite Snow stencil.
Arranging all the layers on the card front I used Multi Medium Matte adhesive since it dries clear and then popped the other elements on a foam tape. Finally I embellished my winter scene with Stickles glitter glue in Xmas Red and Star Dust colors.
As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Hello and welcome!
Today I’ve popped in with an inspiration project made for the SugarPea Designs monthly Mix It Up challenge. You have all month to play along and make a project using just the inspiration, just the sketch or Mix it Up and use both! It is totally up to you! You can find all the rules at SugarPea blog right here!!!
I just cannot resist to the cuteness and so I got my hands on the super adorable Fall Fox stamp set. To start, I stamped the fox and a few small elements on Strathmore Bristol paper with VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof as my intention was to use watercolor markers for coloring.
And here’s the complete list of all Tombow markers used here: n.090, n.126, n.493, n.873, n.885, n.912, n.946, n.990, n.991.
For the layout I prepared a scalloped rectangle die cutting Countryside Charm Patterned Paper Collection pad with Card Front Element Builder and two circles using different sizes from Zig Zag Stitched Circles set. At this point, I also heat embossed the sentiment from the same Fall Fox stamp set with a white embossing paste on a piece of black cardstock and shaped it as a fish-tailed banner with the scissors. I don’t have the coordinating dies for Fall Fox stamp set and so I used again the small sharp scissors and fussy cut all the colored images leaving a little white edge around. Finally I started assembling everything with a bit of dimension popping some elements a foam adhesive and wrapped around some red and white twine to tie all pieces together.
Hope you like this cute and simple card! Now it’s your turn to link up your creations for a chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate from SugarPea Designs! Can’t wait to see what you create!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!
