Holiday Card Series 2020 – From Out Gnome To Yours (ft. SugarPea Designs)

From Our Gnome To Yours #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Gnome For Christmas stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

Hello and welcome!

I’m super excited to be featured on SugarPea Designs blog!!! Today I came up with a clean and simple holiday card highlighting the cute Gnome for Christmas stamp set!

To start, I die cut all the shapes I needed for this project using the coordinating Gnome for Christmas SugarCut and my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I worked on Strathmore Bristol paper and stamped the outline images from Gnome for Christmas stamp set with with VersaFine Onyx Black ink since both these products work excellent with water based markers. The negative parts of the dies came very handy and made the perfect guide for the alignment inside the stamping positioning tool. Finally I colored all the stamps with Tombow markers, blending the colors with the small waterbrush from Pentel.

And here’s the complete list of all the colors used by me on this card: TOMBOW MARKERS N25, N79, 158, 177, 195, 526, 856, 905, 992.

An extended A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) white card base was trimmed and scored from Neenah Solar White paper along with a faux stitched rectangle with three square windows inside both die cut from Card Front Elements 3 SugarCut.  I prepared apart a sky background by inking a piece of Bristol paper with Faded Jeans Oxide Distress ink. I heat set the ink and then added the Falling Snow effect, by first taping the stencil to the paper and then applying a plain white embossing paste on top. I stamped the matching cute pun directly on the card front using the same VersaFine Onyx Black ink for a perfect match and started assembling all the elements together with a bit of dimension. The final touch gave a few clear iridescent sequins.

Next I switched to the stamping positioning tool and stamped the outline images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink since it works great with alcohol based markers. Finally I proceeded with coloring using copic markers.

As always, I’m sharing with you all the colors used on this project: COPIC MARKERS RV00-RV21-RV23-RV25; BG0000-BG10-BG11-BG13; T0-T3; YR30-YR31-Y21-YR24-YR27; E99; E31-E35;G20-YG13-G24.

An extended A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) white card base was trimmed and scored from Neenah Solar White paper. Another additional square piece that measures 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ was cut out for the background and embellished with English Bond Brick Wall pattern. I taped well the stencil to the paper to prevent any movement before inking it with Antique Linen Distress and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks. Finally I assembled the whole scene together popping some stamps on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look and finished with a heat embossed sentiment that comes from the same Let’s Stay Home stamp set.

Watercolor Autumn Leaves Card (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

Sending Prayers #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Autumn Leaves Die set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!

I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a simple autumn feeling card!

Today’s card was really easy to make. To start, I took a piece of a cold pressed watercolor paper since it has more texture compared to a hot pressed version and paint a sort of splotchy and uneven background, creating a green, a red and yellowish areas. I flicked some colorful droplets on top along with white and gold ones to bring more interest to the pattern. I let the paper air dry and then die cut some leaves using Autumn Leaves Die Set.

An extended A2 size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) card base was made from a kraft cardstock. I trimmed and positioned on top another slightly smaller panel made from the watercolor paper where I wrapped and tied a bow using a matching kraft twine. I arranged my watercolor leaves and glued them directly on the background. Finally I added a heat embossed sentiment from Heartfelt Essentials stamp set. If you have troubles with heat embossing, I highly recommend you to prep the paper with a generous coat of Powder Tool to prevent the embossing powder from sticking to your paper where you don’t want it. Then use VersaMark Clear Sticky ink since this ink stays wet for a while and allows to achieve a perfect impression. A few sequins finished this simple watercolor card.

The project, I created today, is very easy to recreate. To start, I stamped on Strathmore Bristol paper with waterproof VersaFine Onyx Black ink the adorable Zoey (Bunny Reading), the Lantern String, and a piece of Grassy Shore stamp. I colored all the stamped images with water based Tombow markers, making the blending with the small waterbrush from Pentel. Next I fussy cut all the elements with my sharp small scissors, leaving a little white edge around and proceeded with the background.

I took a piece of inexpensive Bristol paper that I had in my stash since this type of paper has a smooth surface that makes the ink blending very easy and inked the sky through the edge of Newton’s Nook Designs Clouds stencil with Spun Sugar, Seedless Preserves and Wilted Violet Distress inks using the blending brushes. Then I flicked a few tiny droplets of a shimmer spray and some white splotches using a plain white gouache. An extended A2 size white card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) was created from Neenah Solar White paper along with the additional slightly smaller faux stitched rectangle with the die cut circle window in the center. Assembling all the elements together, I glued the sky directly to the card base and them popped the additional white rectangle on top using a foam tape for a bit of dimension. Then I arranged the colored elements and finished with the sentiment stamped from Everyday Blurbs set.

And here’s the complete list of all the markers used by me on this project: N79, 055, 173, 177, 452, 676, 723.

Ahoy There! #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

Today I came out with a clean and simple design featuring another adorable Francois (Pirate Cat in Boat) stamp from It’s A Pirate’s Life collection. This time I switched to Neenah Solar White paper and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. To start, I stamped Francois (Pirate Cat in Boat), one of the flags from Sail & Flags set, the palm tree from Tropical Island background stamp and a bottle with a message from Pirate Possessions set. I colored all the elements with copic markers and then fussy cut with my sharp small scissors, leaving a little white edge around.

An extended A2 size white card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) was created from the same Neenah Solar White paper. I die cut a square mask from a masking paper using Newton’s Nook Designs Frames Squared Die Set, applied the negative part of the mask directly on the card base to help me ink inside the light blue sky using Tumbled Glass Distress ink and the blending brush. I also added two rows of waves, inking them from the edge of Newton’s Nook Designs Waves & Splashes Stencil using Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink. At this point I removed the mask and simply stamped the matching sentiment from Pirate-ments Set directly on the card front. Finally I popped the colored elements on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look and finished with a few clear sparkling sequins.

In case you’re interested, I’m leaving you all the exact numbers of copic markers used here: cat Y31-YR24-YR27; flag RV13-RV19-RV21-RV25; hat B0000-B21-B24-B26-B69; fish Y00-Y11-Y13; palm E30-E31-E33-E35 plus G20-YG11; T0-T1.
