Hello and welcome!!!

Thanks for joining me! I’m sharing a sweet and simple card with a bit of no-line copic coloring and super adorable stamps from Purple Onion Designs illustrated by Stacey Yacula!

Howdy #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

I kept it really simple today and focused on no-line copic coloring! To start, I stamped Freckles Frog, Rock Set, Cat TailsScattered Flowers & Hush and Lazy River Background stamps with Memento Desert Sand Dye ink on Neenah Solar White paper using my MISTI tool. This type of dye ink is copic friendly and light enough to disappear under the colors. Making no-line copic coloring, I added some details paired with more bright strong colors on the frog and other elements placed in front of you to make them pop against the card base. While the background should appear lighter and less defined. The sentiment from Carnival/ Fair Blurbs was simply stamped with a gray dye ink and fussy cut along with all other stamps (except the background) using my sharp small scissors and leaving a little white edge around.

And here’s the complete list of all the markers used on this project: COPIC frog YG0000-YG00-YG01-YG03-YG63-G43 plus Y28 and E87; W00-W1-W3-W5-W6; C0-C1-C2; BG0000-B01; YR000-YR02-YR12-YR18; V01-V15.

Purple Onion Designs’ New Fundraiser Stamp Set (Covid-19 Relief)

We Are Lucky To Have One Another #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Together stamp set by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

Hello and welcome!!!

Today I’m helping to spread the word about the new fundraiser stamp set released by Purple Onion Designs! Together Stamp Set is a special edition illustrated by Stacey Yacula created to raise money for Covid-19 relief. For every stamp set sold, $10.00 will be donated to the United Way Worldwide Covid-19 Community Response & Recovery Fund. Donations will be made to both the United States & International communities.

We Are Lucky To Have One Another #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Together stamp set by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

Together Stamp Set comes as one big image large enough to cover the whole A2 size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) horizontal layout and it’s paired with a few matching sentiments. I decided to think a little out of boxes and split it to fit three windows on a slimline card. So I started with Neenah Solar White paper and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the critters twice using my my MISTI tool to achieve a nice black lines and then fussy cut the images with the sharp small scissors forming three couples. I colored the stamps with copic markers. The slimline layout for the card base was die cut with Newton’s Nook Designs Slimline Frames & Windows set from the same Neenah Solar White paper used before. The inner squares were inked with Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers,  Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch Distress inks and the blending brushes. Once ready, all the elements were assembled together with a bit of dimension.

And here’s the complete list of all the markers used on this project: COPIC owls E30-E31-E33-E35-E37 plus E0000-E50-E51-E53; bunny W00-W0-W1-W3 plus RV0000-RV10; pig R000-R30-R32 plus E04; mouse C00-C1-C3; YG01-YG05; RV21-RV23-RV25; V01-V04; BG10-B011.

Have A Beautiful Birthday Card (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

Have A Beautiful Birthday #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Roses stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!

I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a one layer watercolor birthday card entirely made using only one stamp set.

In fact, the beautiful flowers on this project come as a cluster with beautiful Roses stamp set. To start, I prepared a mask by stamping roses on a piece of masking paper and fussy cutting with my sharp small scissors right against the stamp lines. Next I trimmed a rectangle large enough to cover an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Strathmore Bristol paper. I stamped the roses in the corner first using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and my MISTI tool, then I applied the mask on top to protect the image and added more flowers towards the bottom and left edges of my background. At this point I also added a simply stamped sentiment that comes from the same Roses stamp set.

I colored the amazing flowers with water based Tombow markers, playing with cool pinks (markers n.703 and n.725) and warmer shades (markers n.723 and n.743). The leaves were filled with yellowish green tones, using markers n.076 and n.133. I wanted to keep the main focus on the roses and coloring and so, as a finish touch, I added only some tiny colorful splotches and a few clear iridescent sequins.

Happy Summer Card (ft. SugarPea Designs)

Happy Summer #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Sweet Treats stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

Hello and welcome!

I’m super excited to be featured on SugarPea Designs blog!!! Today I came up with a clean and simple copic colored card to send everyone some summer vibes and good mood!

To start, I die cut the cutest penguin using Cool Treats SugarCut and Neenah Solar White paper. I stamped the open image from Cool Treats stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink using my MISTI tool and the negative part of the die to help me with the alignment. I colored the penguin with copic marker and added some accents using a white gel pen along with a generous coat of a clear shimmer pen.

In case you’re interested, here’s the complete list of all the colors used on this project: COPIC MARKERS T3-T5-T7-T9; C00-C2; Y11-Y13-Y15-Y17-Y18; R81-R83-R85; YG21-YG25-YG17-YG67; BG01-BG05.

An extended A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) white card base was trimmed and scored from the same Neenah Solar White paper. I prepared a die cut tag from Floral Pocket Tag SugarCut to go on top where I inked a few waves using the cloud edge from Outdoor Scene Builder StencilMermaid Lagoon Distress ink and the blending brush. The sky portion on the tag was filled with Cracked Pistachio Distress ink. I also flicked a few water droplets to add some interest to the pattern. The matching sentiment from Cool Treats stamp set was heat embossed on a narrow strip of a black cardstock and glued to the right edge of the tag. At this point I started assembling all the elements together with a bit of dimension. A few accessories and some sequins gave a finish touch to this project.

Newton’s Nook Designs’ June Release and Giveaway – Day 4 – Porch Swing Friends & Roses

Hello and welcome to the final day the Newton’s Nook June release! Thanks so much for hopping along all this week and for all the wonderful comments you left me! I appreciate so much all your love and support!

All the new June products will be available for purchase on Friday, June 19th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!

Life Is Better With A Friend Like You #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Porch Swing Friends stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

The last day of the release has reserved us two small, but not less adorable stamp sets: the cutest Porch Swing Friends and beautiful Roses. Both sets come with the coordinating dies.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both new stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

My first card features the cutest sweet scene from Porch Swing Friends stamp set. Since I worked with water based markers, I went for my win win combo: Strathmore Bristol paper, VersaFine Onyx Black ink, Pentel Water Brush and MISTI tool. I made the die cutting first using the coordinating Porch Swing Friends Die Set, then stamped the open images from Porch Swing Friends stamp set, let the ink air dry and finally colored all the elements.

As always, I’m leaving you all the exact colors used on this project: TOMBOW MARKERS N79, 133, 195, 452, 723, 743, 933, 946, 947, 992, 993, 977.

An extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) was trimmed and scored from a light gray card stock. I cut out another white rectangle to go on top where I die cut a square using Frames Squared Die Set, creating a sort of polaroid frame element. I thought a bit out of boxes and transformed the cloud die from Sky Borders Die Set into a tree foliage by inking it with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink. I also inked the leftover die cut square with Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink to use as a background behind the fur friends. Porch Swing Friends Die Set comes with an extra word dies and so I picked the “relax” one to pair with the stamped sentiment from Porch Swing Friends stamp set. Finally I assembled the card with a bit of dimension.

The next project features amazing Roses stamp and die sets. To start, I die cut twice the flower cluster from Fabriano Extra White Hot Pressed Watercolor paper. I used my MISTI tool and the negative part of the die to stamped the roses with Antique Linen Distress ink. This type of ink is very light and reactivates with water which makes it perfect for no-line coloring.

Hello #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Roses stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I’ll be honest, no-line coloring is not fast, but I looooove coloring and don’t mind to spend a few hours working on a project sometimes. I used regular watercolors this time and tried to mix different shades between pinks and yellows to create some variation in colors.

Hello #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Roses stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Once finished with coloring, I prepaid a kraft card base with faux stitched scalloped rectangle from Frames & Flags Die Set. Then I heat embossed the sentiment with a fine gold embossing powder and framed it into a circle using new Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. I finished this project with a matching kraft and gold bow and a few clear iridescent sequins.
