Holiday Card Series 2020 – Ho! Ho! Ho! Card For The SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #74

Ho! Ho! Ho! #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Here Comes Santa Claus stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

Hello and welcome!

Today is my turn to get you inspired for the SugarPea Designs monthly Mix It Up Challenge! I decided to stretch my supplies and create a holiday winter scene out of non holiday products!

In case you want to play along, as well, here’s how you can do that: you have all month to play along and make a project using just the inspiration, just the sketch or Mix it Up and use both! It is totally up to you! You can find all the rules at SugarPea blog right here!!!

I’m really satisfied with the creative background made on this card! Let’s see how all the elements came together!

The night sky background was inked directly on an extended A2 size white card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) made from Neenah Solar White paper. I used Tumbled GlassSalty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks with the ink blending foams instead of the blending brushes to achieve an intense and saturated look. I heat set the ink and then added the white falling snow using Falling Snow Stencil and a plain white embossing paste.

The roof came from a piece of a bright red cardstock trimmed approximately 2 inches wide. I die cut from a dark red cardstock and glued on top Scale Cover Plate SugarCut to emulate roof tiles. I used Multi Medium Matte liquid adhesive since it dries matte and clear. Easy! Right!?

The snow on the roof top was simply die cut from the same Neenah Solar White paper with a faux stitched curve line that comes inside Card Front Element Builder SugarCut.

The chimney came together from a small red rectangle trimmed from a bright red cardstock and a white top die cut with Sentiment Strip SugarCut. I added a brick pattern to the red portion by inking the paper with Barn Door Distress ink through English Bond Brick Wall Stencil. Later I added some shadows with R39 copic marker to the bricks.

Finally the brick wall underneath the roof is just a narrow strip of paper inked through English Bond Brick Wall Stencil with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink.

Ho! Ho! Ho! #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Here Comes Santa Claus stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

The cute Santa and the sentiment come from Here Comes Santa Claus stamp set. I stamped the outline image on Copic X-Press paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with copic markers and fussy cut using my sharp small scissors. While the “Ho! Ho! Ho!” sentiment was simply heat embossed in white in the center of a black circle. Finally I assembled all the elements together, popping the roof, Santa and the sentiment on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look. A generous coat of a clear shimmer pen applied on Santa Claus gave a finish touch to this holiday card.

As always, I’m leaving the complete list of all the colors used on this card: COPIC MARKERS

I used Strathmore Bristol paper and VersaFine Onyx Black ink for stamping. The shrimps were colored with Tombow markers.

An A2 size card base and an additional rectangle were prepared from Neenah Solar White 80 lb paper. I used the largest circle die from Frames Squared Die Set for the see through windows and the thing silver metallic thread from DMC brand for the interactive spinner mechanism. The inner pard of the card base was embellished with a light teal striped pattern paper from MFT Rainbow Stripes paper pad. And finally the sentiment from the same Shrimp Cocktails set was simply stamped on a piece of a light yellow cardstock.

Personalized Birthday Card Plus Video (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

It's Your Birthday #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamp and die sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!!!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing my personalized birthday card!

It's Your Birthday #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamp and die sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I mixed and matched a lot of fun stuff creating this project! First of all I made my own stencil using the balloon die from Fabulous Frenchies die set. Next I added balloon strings using the coordinating Fabulous Frenchies stamp set and a partial masking technique. You can watch all the process right here.

For the background I used Mustard Seeds, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch Distress inks. The big balloon in the center of the card front comes from Balloon Shaker die set. You can easily give a personalized twist to your cards using alphabet and number dies. My “18” comes from Essential Alphabet die set. The tiny heat embossed sentiment is from cute Newton’s Birthday Bash stamp set. And finally for the accessories I used Fabulous Frenchies stamp and die sets (the same from the background) plus Papa Bear stamp and die sets and Cosmic Newton die set for tiny stars.

As promised, here’re all the exact copic markers I used on my card: RV21, Y02, YG01, BV02.

This set comes with the coordinating dies. Plus NND is adding a super versatile die set to their collection named Essential Alphabet Die set and as you can guess it allows you die-cut all the letters and numbers! This set is just perfect to customize any of your projects and give them a personalized twist!

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving new Newton’s Graduation stamp set away to one lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

Of corse, I just had to get my hands on both new products: Newton’s Graduation stamp and Essential Alphabet Die sets. And here’s what I came up with!

Time To Take On The World #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton's Graduation stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I started with Bristol paper from Strathmore brand, first die-cut using the coordinating Newton’s Graduation die set and then stamped the cute kitty with a globe. Once the ink was dried, I made a simple watercoloring with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers. I set aside the watercolor piece and started working on the background die-cutting from Essential Alphabet Die set some letters on a masking paper. I placed the letters into the desirable pattern towards the bottom right corner of the card base, masked the card edges and applied Distress Oxide ink in Mermaid Lagoon color with an ink blending tool. I also spritzed a few tiny water droplets on top and lift the masked letters from the background achieving a fun pattern. Assembling the card I popped Newton on a foam tape, heat embossed the sentiment from the same Newton’s Graduation set on fish-tale banner die-cut with Frames & Flags die set and finally added a few matching sequins.

Easy Interactive Spinner Card With Coordinating Dies (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

For Your Special Day #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Holding Happiness stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtons

Happy Thursday!

I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a fun and cute interactive spinner card!

For Your Special Day #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Holding Happiness stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtons

Well, today I came up with the idea how to stretch the coordinating dies and get more use out of them. I played with the super adorable Holding Happiness stamp set from NND March release and the coordinating Holding Happiness Die Set of course. Since the lady with a giant birthday cake is almost symmetrical, I thought that it would be super easy to make an interactive birthday card. In fact, I didn’t have to do the mirror stamping in this case, but only die-cut and stamped twice the same image.

For Your Special Day #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Holding Happiness stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtons

Once finished coloring both stamps with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers, I started working on the background and prepared an A2 size card base plus another additional panel to go on top. Next I made a simple non distracting pattern, blending Distress Oxide inks in Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick colors trough Bubbly stencil. I die-cut a circle on both layers and glued together two colored images and with a tiny twine between the layers. Finally I adhered the patterned panel to the card base and heat embossed the sentiment from the same Holding Happiness stamp set I used before.

That’s all for today! Hope you like this cute card! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Tatiana
