Happy Friday!

I’m so excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog today and give you a fun idea on how you can stretch your holiday stamps and dies! Curious?

This year I decided to make a stamp focus card series and invite you to get another look on the crafty products you already have in your stash or bring more ideas on the same stamp or die set so that you can decide if you really want to get it! Today I would like to reuse holiday stuff and reinterpret it in a different way! And so I’m starting with a super adorable Newton’s Christmas Cuddles set from NND. This set is meant to be a holiday one, but the cute images are so versatile that you can easily cover many other occasions. I played with the lovely couple of kitties and transformed them into a love or Valentine’s Day card.

The kitties were stamped on a watercolor paper with a black waterproof ink, colored with regular watercolors and finally fussy cut right against the stamp lines. Then I built a shaker element reusing a Snow Globe Shaker Die Set and filling it with a tiny die-cut hearts from Darling Hearts Die Set, sparkling sequins and beads because I loved the idea of falling hearts on the love card. And since I already had Darling Hearts Die Set on my desk, I die-cut the work “love” from a bright pink cardstock and used it as the sentiment.

That’s all for today! Hope you like this sweet card! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day! And, please, let me know if you’re interested to see more posts from my Stamp Focus Card Series!!!

Stretch Your Dies Card Series – Snow Globe Shaker Die (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

Joy #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Snow Globe Shaker Die by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Happy Thursday!

I’m so excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog today and give you another look at just released amazing Snow Globe Shaker die set and some great supplies for shaker cards that NND carries now in their online shop!

Joy #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Snow Globe Shaker Die by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I’m really in LOVE with these fantastic dies! So many possibilities and so much fun to play! And so my first project is a show globe clear shaker tag! What do you think about this idea? I die-cut all the elements from Snow Globe Shaker die twice since I needed to cover both front and back. Then I prepared two die-cut frames from the double sided adhesive foam, but you can definitely use only one layer instead since this foam is quite thick and it is really a must-have! Once I ran it back and forth in my Big Shot with a platform closed for the wafer thin dies, I finished to have a perfectly die-cut frame that held its shape as well. And don’t throw away any extra piece you left with since you can use them for the snow globe base. Assembling the tag I filled it with snowflakes that were also die-cut using the same Snow Globe Shaker die set and finished with the shiny die-cut sentiment “JOY”.

Creating my second project which is turned out as a card, I used the same Snow Globe Shaker die, but in a very different way! I started building my background first by ink blending Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress inks. While the inks were still wet I put on top new just released Snowfall stencil and dabbed off some color with a wet baby wipe. I purposely was not very precise since I wanted to achieve a little bit splotchy distress look.Joy #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Snow Globe Shaker Die by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

While the background was drying, I die-cut some snowflakes and the sentiment from a vellum and a glitter paper and finally assembled everything popping the background on a foam tape for a bit of dimension!

That’s all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

For Mum Shaped Card (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

For My Mum #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Lovely Blooms Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!

So happy you’ve joined me today! I’m bringing you this bright spring card featuring Lovely Blooms stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs! I was inspired by a project I saw on Instagram a few days ago and thought it would be great to stretch once more the coordinating dies and create a shaped card out of them!

For My Mum #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Lovely Blooms Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

The beautiful flowers from Lovely Blooms stamp set are so amazing and have fantastic design that gives you almost infinite ways of use on your projects! And so this time my choice was on stamping them with Distress inks and a simple non-perfect splotchy watercoloring!

For My Mum #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Lovely Blooms Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I started by die-cutting a bunch of flowers and leaves out of Lovely Blooms Die Set along with the jar element that was cut out twice to create a card base. I used Distress Watercolor cardstock for this project since it meant to be used with Distress inks and reactive with water so well plus it’s thick and that gives more stability for the shaped card. Then I simply stamped outline images from Lovely Blooms stamp set using Distress inks and used them for watercoloring as well.

Once all the elements were dried, I started assembling my shaped card from the jar stamp adhering only the top part to create the card base that could be opened and of course, hold a message inside. Then I proceeded with arranging leaves and flowers gluing them together to form a bouquet! And finally I added a little personalized tag made out of Tags Times Two Die set and a super clever Simply Relative stamp set that allows you to create custom messages for any occasion!

That’s all for today! And if you need more inspiration, you can find two other awesome projects featuring Lovely Blooms stamp set here in a shaker card and here for some more ideas on how to stretch the coordinating dies!  As always thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving me nice comments! I really appreciate your support!!!

You can create a card, a tag, a scrapbook page, a treat bag or any other projects related to the papercrafting.

I have to share another idea with you how you can stretch the coordinating dies and get more use out of them. I played with the Lovely Blooms die set that coordinates with the adorable Lovely Blooms stamp set. I didn’t stamp any flowers image this time, but simply die-cut a few flowers and leaves from Bristol paper using the coordinating dies and added color with inkblending tool to them! Super fun and easy technique that allows to get a totally different look out of the same product!

Arranging the flowers on my cream color card base, I used a doily, a few crystal clear sequins and the sentiment words from NND Lovely Blooms and Simply Relative stamp sets!

Newton’s Nook Designs April Release and Giveaway – Newton’s Birdbath

So Many Smiles Start With You #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton's Birdbath Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

It’s called NEWTON’S BIRDBATH and you can get the coordinating dies as well. No need to tell you that I really LOVE this super cute set and it’s so easy and fun to use since all you need is to stamp it and you’re ready to color! Plus it comes in a perfect size for A2 cards and has really great sentiments!

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving this stamp set away to one lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

And since I know that many of you love to get the coordinating dies, I decided to showcase how you can get more out of them and use not only for cutting the images!

So Many Smiles Start With You #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton's Birdbath Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

So stretching my coordinating dies on this card, I came out with an easy masking technique for ink blending backgrounds! I saw a few weeks ago Jennifer McGuire showcased some cards with ink blending background coming from one corner of the card base and I thought this would work so well with the cute Newton stamp from NEWTON’S BIRDBATH set! But instead of stamping and fussy cutting the whole intricate image, I made my mask out of the coordinating die by simply die-cutting it from a masking paper. So easy peasy and in a flash you have the mask ready to work with!!!

So Many Smiles Start With You #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton's Birdbath Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I stamped kitty image and a couple of butterflies from the same stamp set on a piece of a copic friendly paper with a copic friendly ink, of course, applied the die-cut masks both on kitty and butterflies and inked my background with distress inks. I also added some tiny drops of pearlized water on top and then removed the masks and proceeded with coloring. As always, you can find all the exact colors I used on this card at the bottom of the post. I need to point out that you will finish to have a tiny white halo around the image using the coordinating dies for easy masking, but honestly it doesn’t bother me at all and I think that it looks fine!

I finished the card by simply stamping the sentiment, adding some matching sequins, shimmer and Glossy Accents for a fake water effect!
