Sympathy Card Series

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of our SugarPea Designs Spring Product Release!

Today’s introductions include… a super fresh, juicy and yummy Tutti Fruiti stamp set and the coordinating Tutti Fuiti SugarCut.

On my today’s card I decided to play with the sentiment “When Life Gives You Lemons” and so, to start, I die cut a bunch of lemon shapes using Tutti Fuiti SugarCut from Neenah Solar White paper.

A stamping positioning tool comes super handy when you have to stamp the same image multiple times. I alined the negative part of the lemon die in my Misti tool and stamped all the element at once. I tried to give a little shading and used different tones of the yellow dye inks: Lemon Chiffon from Simon Says Stamp and Butter Bar from Hero arts. Next I added a little leaf to every lemon with Simon Says Stamp Green Apple ink.

Finally I could arrange all the elements with a bit of dimension and emphasize the white dots by applying Nuvo White Drops.

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Newton’s Nook Designs June Release!

Today all the NND Design Team is showcasing a sympathy stamp set called FURR-EVER FRIENDS. I think that the amazing bold pet shape stamps can be perfect for some techniques like emboss resist or no-line coloring, for example. And, of course, they can be used not only for sympathy cards as well as the fantastic hand-written sentiment stamps that come with this set. You can stretch these stamps on scrapbook layouts, tags, planner spreads or customize treat bags!

And here’s what I came up with! I decided to add some colors to my card arranging them in a rainbow order since the rainbow reminds me of hope and represents a path between Earth and Heaven.

I started by trimming a bunch of pieces out of a white copic friendly card stock since my intention was to add color with copic markers, but you can definitely use colored cardstock or pattern paper for this design. It’s also a great way to make use out of all those scrap pieces you have in you stash.

The easiest way to put this rainbow pattern together is to cut a rectangle out of a scratch paper, cover it completely with adhesive, apply the colored stripes on top and finally trim the excess with your scissors.

The heart made out of paw prints and the matching sentiment from FURR-EVER FRIENDS set were heat embossed on vellum with a white embossing powder and a few crystal clear sequins added a finish touch.
