Hello and welcome!

So happy you’ve joined me today! I’m bringing you this bright spring card featuring Lovely Blooms stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs! I was inspired by a project I saw on Instagram a few days ago and thought it would be great to stretch once more the coordinating dies and create a shaped card out of them!

The beautiful flowers from Lovely Blooms stamp set are so amazing and have fantastic design that gives you almost infinite ways of use on your projects! And so this time my choice was on stamping them with Distress inks and a simple non-perfect splotchy watercoloring!

For My Mum #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Lovely Blooms Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I started by die-cutting a bunch of flowers and leaves out of Lovely Blooms Die Set along with the jar element that was cut out twice to create a card base. I used Distress Watercolor cardstock for this project since it meant to be used with Distress inks and reactive with water so well plus it’s thick and that gives more stability for the shaped card. Then I simply stamped outline images from Lovely Blooms stamp set using Distress inks and used them for watercoloring as well.

Once all the elements were dried, I started assembling my shaped card from the jar stamp adhering only the top part to create the card base that could be opened and of course, hold a message inside. Then I proceeded with arranging leaves and flowers gluing them together to form a bouquet! And finally I added a little personalized tag made out of Tags Times Two Die set and a super clever Simply Relative stamp set that allows you to create custom messages for any occasion!

That’s all for today! And if you need more inspiration, you can find two other awesome projects featuring Lovely Blooms stamp set here in a shaker card and here for some more ideas on how to stretch the coordinating dies!  As always thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving me nice comments! I really appreciate your support!!!

Masculine Card (ft. Crafting Desert Divas)

Wishing You A Birthday Filled With Adventures #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Norse Warriors stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

Hello and welcome!

I’m so excited to bring you my daily post at Craftin Desert Divas! Well, today I’m going to talk about masculine cards. I know many of you struggle with them like me, but when I saw a fantastic sentiment “Wishing You A Birthday Filled with Adventure…” from Norse Warriors stamp set, I decided to play with it and fill a box with some great masculine accessorize stamps to match the scheme!

So I stamped with a waterproof ink a few images from Norse Warriors stamp set on Bristol paper, colored them with Zig markers trying to make marked shadows and highlights, fussy cut right up against the edge and corrected any imperfection from cutting with a black marker. While the watercolor pieces were drying, I worked on background making ink blending with Distress inks and flicking after some water droplets in order to bring some interest. I die-cut a Stitched Box out of kraft card stock and made the matching card base for my project!

Finally I stamped the sentiment from the same Norse Warriors stamp set and adhered a few sequins to the card just for something little extra!

That all for today! Hope you like this clean and simple card! And as always thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Craftin Desert Divas – April Release – Rainbows & Sunshine

Hello and welcome!

So happy you’ve joined me for another day of the April Release from Craftin Desert Divas! I just couldn’t help myself to play again with the adorable Rainbows & Sunshine stamp set and here’s my release project foe you!

May Your Days Glisten With Hope For Rainbows Rain Over Your Dreams #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Rainbows & Sunshine stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

I stretched my Zig markers again since watercoloring seems to match so perfectly this scheme and made a pop-up shaker card!

May Your Days Glisten With Hope For Rainbows Rain Over Your Dreams #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Rainbows & Sunshine stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

I started by coloring and fussy cutting right up against the stamp edge the cute little girl dressed in a bunny rain coat. While the image was drying, I prepared the shaker part by die-cutting five times a circle frame out of Inside Scalloped Circle Dies and glued it together. I added a piece of clear acetate before adding the last layer to create a shaker window and also die-cut once the inner part of the circle frame from a watercolor paper and applied some color to it with ink smooching technique and Distress inks in blue tones.

Before adhering the shaker window to my card base, I filled it with matching blue and pink sequins and finished popping out on a foam tape the little girl image along with the sentiment that comes with the same Rainbows & Sunshine stamp set!

And here’re some tips and tricks for you! If you struggle to color with Zig markers, try to use Bristol paper paired with a water brush (I mean the one that can be filled with water). My favorites are Strathmore brand for Bristol paper and a small water brush from Pentel. When working on a shaker part, assure to used the adhesive that becomes non-sticky after drying like Multi Medium Matte from Ranger, for example. Otherwise the sequins inside will stick to the frame! And when you fussy cut something right up against the stamp line, put a black marker on the cut edge and it will hide any imperfection!

That all for today! Hope you like this colorful card! As always thanks so much for stopping by! And you can find my another project featuring this cute stamp set right here!!!

Have a fantastic week-end!!!

Tatiana

Craftin Desert Divas – April Release Sneak Peek – Floral Wreaths

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday!

Hello Friend #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Floral Wreaths stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

This stamp set is so adorable and will allow you to create beautiful, elegant cards that can cover all the occasions! Plus it’s so easy and fun to use because you have the flowers already arranged in wreaths or clusters and that means no masking and spending time trying to figure out how to put the flowers on your card are needed! Just grab the image you like, stamp it and you are ready to color! I always LOVE such versatile and clever products!

Hello Friend #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Floral Wreaths stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

Since the flower stamps from FLORAL WREATHS stamp set are so amazing, I decided to keep my card very clean and simple and watercolor the awesome heart shape wreath! My choice were Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers because these flowers look so springy and so I wished to make something cheerful and bright. My winning combo to use with Zig markers are Bristol paper (I especially love Strathmore brand) and a water brush. They allow to spread colors very easily and don’t leave hash marks.

I like to work in layers on my watercolor projects: first I usually put a light initial one and then start adding more colorful spots, shadows and highlights! I play with the image unless I’m satisfied with the result and often come back working on some ares a few times! Of course, couldn’t skip some little extra finish touches such as tiny black and white splotches and a few matching sequins!

Newton’s Nook Designs April Release and Giveaway – Simply Relative

Hello and welcome!

I’m so happy I’ve joined the Newton’s Nook Designs Design Team for Day 3 of the April Release!

World's Best Mother #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Simply Relative Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Today we are showcasing a brand new stamp set called SIMPLY RELATIVE. Well, many people when they are aproaching paper crafting hobbies always wonder what should I start with in supplies terms! Which stamp sets are the first to add to the stash! And I always recommend to get a good sentiment stamp set that can be used on any papercrafting projects! And I’m really happy that Newton’s Nook Design’s are coming with this fantastic one! I LOVE that it has big bold hand written words pared with a small simple ones. Really great design and infinite possibilities of use!

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving this stamp set away to one lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

And here’s what I came up with today! It’s another Mother’s Day project and hope it will inspire you! I played again with LOVELY BLOOMS stamp set from Day 2 of the NND April Release and combined it with SIMPLY RELATIVE set.

World's Best Mother #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Simply Relative Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Well, this time I pull my watercolors and heat embossed the beautiful hydrangea flowers with a white embossing powder on a watercolor paper, die-cut them with the coordinating dies and then simply colored the images using wet on wet technique when you basically paint with clear water first and then add color on top. The color will spread across the wet area and you will get a typical watercolor look! The key here is to work at a singular spot at a time otherwise you risk to “contaminate” the whole image loosing highlights and shadows!

World's Best Mother #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Simply Relative Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

While the watercolored elements were drying, I worked on my card base! I arranged a bunch of sentiment stamps from SIMPLY RELATIVE set and inked them with a light gray ink. Then I emphasized some words with a black ink to form the “World’s Best Mother” sentence and finished the card by popping the flowers on a foam tape on top.

Would you like to win the “Simply Relative” Stamp Set?
