Hello and welcome!!!
This week I had a chance to play more with new amazing autumn collection of rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs illustrated by very talented Julian Charlton.
My choice was the super adorable Winslow & Rusty – Campfire Friends stamp set that comes as a fabulous scene already arranged for you along with two fun matching sentiments. It was quite a while since I made a one layer wonder working with the masking technique. And since I have some time to spend in crafting, I decided to go with it! To start, I stamped twice first on Neenah Solar White paper and then on a piece of a masking paper Campfire Friends. I used the MISTI tool to assure a perfect crisp image and copic friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Next I very carefully fussy cut with my sharp small scissors the masks that I needed to cover all the open areas on the Campfire Friends. Once the masks were applied, I inked the sky and ground portions around the critters working very slowly and using different sizes of the blending brushes. I started with a small brush and Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink around the fire, then added Wild Honey shade extending the inked circle. At this point I divided my background the sky and the ground with a piece of sticky tape and continued inking with Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch, Black Soot towards the top; Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint Distress inks towards the bottom of the card front. I added some splatters of a white gouache creating stars and a few tiny drops of pearlescent solution all across the inked area just for something little extra. Finally I carefully and slowly removed the masked and proceeded with copic coloring.
As always, I’m sharing with you the complete list of the markers used on this project: COPIC E30-E31-E33-E35-E37; E41-E44; Y00-Y11-Y15-Y17-Y21; YR30-YR21-YR15-YR04-YR68 plus E99; YG01-YG67-YG91-YG93-YG95-YG99; R20-R29-R35B91-BB93-B99; T1-T3-T5-T7;
I framed the colored scene with a die from Simon Says Stamp’s Stitched Rectangles die set and added a simply stamped sentiment using again he MISTI tool and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Finally I popped the piece on an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) and finished with a few highlights made with a white gel pen.
Hope you like the adorable new stamps and my cute card! As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs,
Tatiana
