Baby Card Series

Today I put up together two cute projects. The first one is a baby girl card that features Bitty Bibs stamp set and the coordinating Baby Bibs Die. I just love the additional scalloped layer that comes with Baby Bibs Die Set. To start, I die cut some Baby Bibs using Neenah Solar White paper for the top layer and a soft pink cardstock from my stash for the scalloped one. I decided to add the bear design from Bitty Bibs stamp set to one bib. As always, I used the negative part of the die into my MISTI stamping tool to help me with the alignment while I was making the stamping. Finally colored the patterned bib with copic markers.

In case you’re wondering, here’re all the exact markers used on this project: COPIC RV0000-RV00-RV04-RV10-RV13; E50-E51-E53-E55.

Before arranging all the elements on a standard A2 size white card (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) base I added a sentiment from the same Bitty Bibs stamp set: heat embossing the word “Congratulations” on a piece of a pink cardstock colored with RV13 copic marker for a perfect match and simply stamping the second part of the sentiment directly on the card base. Last but not least, I added a bit more of color by adhering small die cut hearts from Holding Happiness Die Set on every white bib.

The second card along with new Sky Scene Builder Die features just released yesterday Hop Into Spring stamp set. It turned out quite simple and keep the main focus on watercoloring elements.

Once again I started with the die cutting process. I used Hop Into Spring Die Set and a hot presses watercolor paper plus VersaFine Onyx Black ink for stamping the open bunny image from Hop Into Spring stamp set. Next I water colored the stamp and a very simple background with regular watercolors.

Assembling all the elements together, I prepared a light gray A2 size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) card base, framed the watercolor background with a stitched rectangle from Frames & Flags Die Set and wrapped a twine around the stitched frame. Next I added lovely die cut clouds from new Sky Scene Builder Die to the background along with the colored image and finally popped the whole piece on a foam tape. I finished with a simple heat embossed sentiment from Hop Into Spring stamp set put on a piece of a black cardstock.

So happy you joined us today for the second day of the Newton’s Nook Designs March Release!

Today NND Design Team is showcasing a brand new super sweet and absolutely adorable stamp set called Lovable Laundry along with the coordinating Stitched Onesie die.

This baby set couldn’t be more adorable and so I just couldn’t leave you with only one example! Plus I would never choose between baby boy or girl card so I made both!

I thought it would be fun to use the same card sketch and interpret it in two different ways. On the baby boy card I stamped a few cute little onesies with a black waterproof ink on a watercolor paper. Made a super simple light wash of watercolors trying to keep it very soft. I also added a little bit of shading around the stamped onesies.

Assembling the card, I adhere on a foam tape a scalloped stitched white panel that was die-cut with NND new Sky Borders die releases just yesterday. And finished with a few non distractive embellishments.

And here’s the baby girl version. I used once more Sky Borders die for the take on the sketch, but started with stamping a bunch of small hearts from NND Sweater Weather stamp set for the bottom section and a cute onesie with hearts. I used the same watercolor paper on this card and only one pink shade color. The gradient look was achieved by adding different amount of water: more concentrate color gives a more vibrant look, white a more diluted color becomes more soft.

I used Stitched Onesie die to die-cut my stamp. This die is SO ADORABLE and CLEVER done!!! It can be used on its own or combining with the stamps from Lovable Laundry stamp set! In this case you will finish to have a faux stitching inside the stamp that looks really gorgeous! I’m in love with this die!!!

My original plan was to add two little cloth-pins to the onesie, but they were too big for this card so I simply added two paper bows to “anchor” the stamped image on my card front.
