Hugs, Fishes and Mermaid Kisses! #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Mermaid Lagoon stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

And here’s my cute summer under the sea project for you!!! I created a little scene out of fabulous new CDD Mermaid Lagoon and Sunny Smiles stamp sets! I stamped a bunch of images with a waterproof ink on a Bristol paper, colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and fussy cut with my scissors leaving a tiny white edge around.

For the background I used the same Bristol paper and die-cut the scene using new Ocean Border Die and Fancy Frame Die sets! Then I proceeded with a quick and simple ink blending using regular Distress inks. Here’s the tip how you can stretch you dies! I die-cut once more the wavy line from Ocean Border Dies and used it as a stencil for the water part giving a little bit of texture to the background! Assembling the card, popped some elements on a foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest and, of course, colds’r skip some shimmer!!!

Craftin Desert Divas – July Release – Ocean Of Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday!!

I’ve popped in for a super quick post since I have to share another release project featuring new July release from Craftin Desert Divas!

Ocean Friends #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Ocean Friends stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

Today I crabbed a few super cute jellyfishes from Ocean Friends stamp set and made a cute ocean scene framed in a shaped shaker card! I experimented a little bit more with Distress Oxide ink in Broken China color first on the card base with ink smooching technique and then blended it on the vellum wave die-cut with new Ocean Border Dies. I spritzed both surfaces with some water droplets and lifted the color with a paper towel creating a splotchy look!

Ocean Friends #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Ocean Friends stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

The stamps were colored with Zig markers and fussy cut with my scissors! Assembling the card, I added dimension to the different layers with a foam tape and filled the shaker part with clear Shimmer Sequins. Finally “Ocean Of Birthday Wishes” sentiment from Mermaid Lagoon set was simply stamped inside.

Craftin Desert Divas – July Release – Mermaid Lagoon

Happy Tuesday!!

I’m so excited and happy to bring you my daily post at Craftin Desert Divas blog today! Well, since it’s also day 1 of the CDD new July release, I just couldn’t help myself making another project featuring Mermaid Lagoon and Sunny Smiles stamp sets!!!

Oceans of Birthday Wishes #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Mermaid Lagoon stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

My today’s card is a clean and simple one with a pop of bright summer colors matching perfectly new MERMAZING stamps and dies! I created once more a circle focal point on my card like in the sneak peek project, but interpreted it in a different way. Hope this this card will inspire you and give some ideas how you can stretch you supplies!

For A Mermaizing Friend #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Mermaid Lagoon stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

Like I mentioned before, I used the same supplies on both cards for a totally different look as you can see! This time instead of transforming the circle focal point into a shaker under the sea scene where sequins brought some fun interactive part, I played with different layers and dimension!

Oceans of Birthday Wishes #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Mermaid Lagoon stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

I starter with the background elements. I used the same Inside Scalloped Circle Die on the front panel, but did a partial die-cutting instead of cutting out the whole circle. I also hand cut the waves, using as a guide Ocean Border Dies since I liked its shape, but you can definitely go freehand or download some wavy lines from internet to use as a guide for the ocean part.

As for the colors, I used Distress Oxide inks which for a moment I have in a very limited color range. Well, here’re some tips and tricks how you can get more out of a few colors. For the sky portion I blended some yellowy-orange and pinky colors overlapping them and creating new customize shades! The waves were made using ONLY ONE blue color: I blended the ink from the top part using a heavy hand to archive a darker shade; while for the other layer, I went vice versa and applied the ink from the bottom part toward the top with a very light hand for a more soft gradient look. Well, what do you think of that?

Oceans of Birthday Wishes #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Mermaid Lagoon stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

For the ocean critters I used Zig Clean Color Real brush markers, made a simple splotchy watercoloring and finally arranged the elements on my card base. A foam tape helped me to give some dimension to my scene and the sentiment from Mermaid Lagoon set was simply stamped on a hand cut fishtail banner.

That all for today! Hope you like summer and planning to make a few summer theme cards or maybe scrapbook layouts! Wanted For Celebrating Another Birthday #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton Rides West stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!

I have so many reasons to be extremely excited today since first I’m on the Newton’s Nook Design’s blog today showcasing this fun Peek-A-Boo interactive card, second I have a project featuring my ever favorite kitty Newton and the last but not the least I have a VIDEO TUTORIAL for you on my YouTube channel!!!! Woo-hoo!!!

Wanted For Celebrating Another Birthday #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton Rides West stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

You know me, guys, I’m a BIG fan of the cute mischief Newton and I just ADORE his new western adventures in Newton Rides West stamp set! I particularly like “Wanted” sentiment paired with “For Celebrating Another Birthday!” one for the inside part! I find this idea absolutely adorable! And today I’ve came up with even more cute interactive project! When opened this Peek-A-Boo slider mechanism reveals a hidden secret message!

Wanted For Celebrating Another Birthday #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton Rides West stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I’ve started with 4 pieces of paper cut from a white card stock. I’m leaving you all the measure:

  1. (inside part) 4¼” x 8½” – scored at 4¼”
  2. (front part) 4¼”x 5½”
  3. 4½” x 3″- score at 2¾” along the 3″ side
  4. (back part) 4¼” x 5¾” – scored at 5½”

Please, watch the video below for the interactive part instruction!!!

Finishing the card I stamped the cute kitty and the hidden part of the sentiment from Newton Rides West stamp set inside and colored him with copic markers! The front part was embellished with a patterned paper and some arrows die-cut from NND Points & Plumes die set and colored with the same colors of copic markers I used before for a purr-rect match!

Craftin Desert Divas – June Release Sneak Peek – Dino Dig

Hello and welcome!

Today I’m sharing a sneak peek project showcasing you the fantastic DINO DIG stamp set from the new Crafting Desert Divas June release! This set will be available for purchase on Friday June, 23 at Craftin Desert Divas online shop!

You're How Old #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Dino Dig stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

If you, like me, a big fan of cute stamps and fun sentiments, this stamp set will steal your heart for sure!!! So read all the way down to the bottom of this post to learn how to put together this super fun and cute tunnel card! All you need to have for this project is a set of nesting dies and CDD Fancy Frame die set is really perfect in this case!

You're How Old #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Dino Dig stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

I started with an A2 size card base that measures 5½” by 4¼” and two other A2 size rectangles cut out from the same white cardstock. First of all, I die-cutted a rectangle in the middle of the front panel on my card base using the smallest frame die from Fancy Frame set. Then I used the medium and the large scalloped dies to achieve the medium and the large frames from the left rectangle pieces! Don’t throw away the positive parts of the die-cuts since you can use them for the other projects!!! At this point I also die-cut 3 times the border hill part necessary to build our scene using  Garden Border Dies. Here’s what you should end up with!

You're How Old #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Dino Dig stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

The next step was adding color to the visible parts of our tunnel card! I simply inkblended some green shades of Distress Oxide inks toward the bottom of my project so that they look like grass hills and then above a blue shade of the same Oxide ink that should look like the sky portion. Once finished inkblending, I spritzed a few drops of water on top of all the elements and made happen the oxide reaction that gave me an interesting splotchy background! Remember to add color to the inside part of you card as well since it will be visible though the smallest die-cut window!

You're How Old #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Dino Dig stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

Assembling the tunnel card, I glued the first border die right on top of the card base a little bit above the frame window. The second border die ended up on the back side of the medium frame as well as the third one was glued on the back side of the largest frame!  Offsetting slightly the border dies will dive some dimension to your scene! Finally I stacked the frames together putting each of them on a foam tape.

You're How Old #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Dino Dig stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

I stamped with a waterproof ink, watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and fussy cut a few cutie dinos along with some small accessories that come with new Dino Dig stamp set and simply arranged them on every layer of my tunnel card! The fun birthday sentiment from the same Dino Dig set and a few matching sequins added a finish touch!

That all for today! Hope you like this tunnel card! As always thanks so much for stopping by! And please, check Craftin Desert Divas Event Page on Facebook for more inspiration, amazing projects and sneak peeks from the Design Team, freebies and awesome giveaways!
