Craftin Desert Divas – October Release and Monthly Social Media Challenge

Happy Birthday Rodeo Princess #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Wild West stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas
Hello and welcome!

Today I’m breaking my Holiday Card Series because it’s time to play with the October Monthly Social Media Challenge from Craftin Desert Divas! Inspired by the beautiful warm fall colors from the mood board, I decided to stretch my Distress Oxide inks and made a sunset sky using yellow and orange shades!

So I started working on Distress cardstock die-cutting a scalloped frame plus the ground and the sky parts. Then I applied with an ink blending tool Fossilized AmberSpiced Marmalade and Fired Brick Distress Oxide inks for the top part of my card and a very light hand of Vintage Photo for the bottom creating my background this way.

I stamped with a waterproof ink on a Bristol paper a few super cute characters from Wild West stamp set since the colors of my background were reminding me a desert sky and seemed to be perfect for a cow girl scene! All the stamps were watercolored with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers and as always I’m leaving you all the exact colors I used at the bottom of this post!Happy Birthday Rodeo Princess #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Wild West stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

Assembling the card I popped up some elements bring a bit of dimension this way and finally added a few matching sequins as a finish touch!

That’s all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you’ll join Craftin Desert divas October Monthly Social Media Challenge for a chance to win some amazing prizes! All you need to do is to create a project inspired by the current mood board and using at least one CDD brand product! Then just share it with #CDDMONTHLY in the Craftin Desert Divas Facebook Gallery! If you aren’t a member, just request it here.

Shaped Trifold Card (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

On Your Birthday #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Knight's Quest stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!

Today I’ve popped in with a fun project: shaped trifold birthday card featuring some FABULOUS stamp sets from the Newton’s Nook Designs August release!!!

NND has just came out with three stamp sets Believe In Unicorns, Knight’s Quest and Once Upon A Princess joined by the fairytale theme that are so fun to mix and match creating cute scenes! And so I thought to create some sort of a story book in a trifold card!

On Your Birthday #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Knight's Quest stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Using the coordinating dies, I die cut a bunch of amazing characters from all the sets, aligned the negative part of the die in my stamping positioning tool and stamped them all with a waterproof ink. Then I made a super simple watercoloring with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and set all the colored pieces aside while I was working on the card base. Scroll down towards the bottom of this post in case you’re interested in the exact colors I used here!

On Your Birthday #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Knight's Quest stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnookThen I proceeded working on a piece of a standard white 11″by 9″ cardstock and trimmed it to 10½” by 5½”. I made scoring lines from each side at 3½” and achived three equal parts that transformed my card base into a trifold card! I used NND Sky Borders die set as a stencil and as a die on the top part on every card panel and added the inkbleneded green “land” at the botton of the second and third panels, die cutting a mask from NND Land Borders die set! The sentiment from Knight’s Quest set was stamped with a matching black ink at the bottom of the inner part and finally all the stamped images were adhered directly to the card base to keep the card flat while it’s closed.

Of course, a touch of some magic with a clear shimmer pen was a must for this fairy project!

As always thank so much for stopping by!!!

Tatiana

Have A Blast Card (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

Have A Blast! #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Cosmic Newton stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!

Today I want to give you another look at new Cosmic Newton stamp and die sets and Starfield Stencil, of course! All these amazing goodies came with the last July release from Newton’s Nook Designs and I just can’t stop playing with them!

Have A Blast! #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Cosmic Newton stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Once more I created a night scene like on my previous card, but with Distress inks this time! Curios to discover more? First of all, I die-cut the landscape elements using NND Land Borders die set from a watercolor paper. For the bottom part I added color with ink blending tool mixing Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Peel Paint shades of regular Distress inks and added a few tiny droplets of pearlized solution for some interest. Then I squished Black Soot Distress ink on my craft mat, misted it with water a few times and pressed the sky part of my background agains the craft mat. I repeated the same steps a few times, heat setting the paper every time in between until I was happy with the result. The moon was created in the same way with Antique Linen color.

Have A Blast! #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Cosmic Newton stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Since the night sky looked a little bit plain for me, I decided to experiment with Distress Oxide inks and ink smooched on top of my black sky background Faded Jeans Oxide and Wilted Violet Oxide inks. And finally a white embossing paste and Starfield Stencil added a finish touch and transformed it into a starry sky.

The cutie Newton and a falling star were die-cut with the coordinating Cosmic Newton die set from a Bristol paper and stamped with a black waterproof ink since my choice for coloring were Zig markers. And, of course, assembling the card I added some dimension to my night scene with a foam tape.

As always thank so much for stopping by!!!

Tatiana

Hugs, Fishes and Mermaid Kisses! #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Mermaid Lagoon stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

And here’s my cute summer under the sea project for you!!! I created a little scene out of fabulous new CDD Mermaid Lagoon and Sunny Smiles stamp sets! I stamped a bunch of images with a waterproof ink on a Bristol paper, colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and fussy cut with my scissors leaving a tiny white edge around.

Hugs, Fishes and Mermaid Kisses! #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Mermaid Lagoon stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

For the background I used the same Bristol paper and die-cut the scene using new Ocean Border Die and Fancy Frame Die sets! Then I proceeded with a quick and simple ink blending using regular Distress inks. Here’s the tip how you can stretch you dies! I die-cut once more the wavy line from Ocean Border Dies and used it as a stencil for the water part giving a little bit of texture to the background! Assembling the card, popped some elements on a foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest and, of course, colds’r skip some shimmer!!!
