Hello and welcome!
I’m super excited to be featured on SugarPea Designs blog!!! Today I came up with a clean and simple graduation card featuring a few lovely dies from For The Graduate SugarCut and Congrats Word SugarCut along with a beautiful Leaf Canopy Stencil.
To start, I prepared all the die cut elements using For The Graduate SugarCut. I die cut the biggest graduation cap from a plain white cardstock and then glued on top the smaller hat, die cut from a black cardstock. I handmade a little tassel using a gold thread, added it to the top part of the hat and finished with an additional cap top popped on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look. A diploma base was die cut from a light gray color. I popped on top a white die cut center and finished with the metallic gold details. The last die cut element was Congrats Word. I glued together two layers die cut from a white cardstock and added a gold metallic layer on top, creating this way a nice thick element that holds the shape.
I decided to add some color to the background through Leaf Canopy Stencil using Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress inks with foam sponges. I added a few water droplets to the pattern along with some white and gold splashes and let everything air dry. Meanwhile I heat embossed “Happy Graduation” sentiment using VersaMark ink and a fine gold embossing powder and repeatedly stamped the laurel leaves with a black ink towards the right side of an extended A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) white card base. Finally I assembled all the elements together with a bit of dimension and finished with a few clear sparkling sequins.
That’s all for today! Hope this clean and simple graduation card will inspire you! As always thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!
