Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop – Partial Masking Card Technique (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

Hello and welcome!

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and die-cut a stitched scalloped border on the bottom part. Once chosen the cute kitty with coffee cup stamp, I decided to give it a spring twist and add a few tiny tulips from NND Simply Seasonal stamp set. Since I didn’t want to have some stamp lines crossing on my image, I did a partial masking both on the stamp and the stamped image.

Here’s how you can do that! Placing the flowers inside the mug means that the image has: 1. one part of the mug in front; 2. then the flowers inside and finally 3. the other part of the mug and the kitty behind the flowers.

First before inking the image mask partially with a post tape the “behind” part of you stamp that will cross with flowers later like on my picture below and stamp only the “front” part of the mug. Pay attention only to the areas that will cross later and don’t worry about the rest of the stamp.

Stamp aside on a masking paper, cut out and place the same “front” part of your mug on top and start adding flowers. Remember to mask every time all the flower parts as well.

Finally ink all the kitty stamp and stamp the whole image. Only then remove all the masks and you will finish with a cute spring scene!

Here are some more tips and tricks! Using a stamp positioner or a stamping tool for this technique will help you to align perfectly your stamp.

Remember that you can bend and shape your clear stamps on the acrylic block or the door of your stamping tool if you need to change the direction like I did with flowers here.

Use small images you have on the stamp sets to create your own matching pattern paper. I used some bold mug and coffee stamps to create a non distractive tone-on-tone background.

Stretch Your Digital Stamps Card Series – No-Line Watercoloring (ft. Craftin Desert Divas)

Thanks A Latte #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Bunny Latte digital stamp by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

Happy Friday!

So happy you joined me! I thought it would be interesting to put up a new card series here on my blog featuring digital stamps. Well, I still use more and prefer actual stamps, but I would like to talk about why you may want to try digital ones. I’ll illustrate the advantages of them and showcase the possible ways of use. Hope you like the idea and will find it interesting!

Today I’m going talk about no-line coloring with digital stamps! I’m IN LOVE with this adorable bunny from Craftin Desert Divas Bunny Latte Digital Stamp and wanted to watercolor it. By now I did a few attempts printing digital stamps on different watercolor papers, but had no success since the watercolor papers are textured! So I figured out this simple way to transfer the image!

Thanks A Latte #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Bunny Latte digital stamp by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

I started by printing Bunny Latte Digital Stamp on a printer paper. The type of paper doesn’t matter at this point. Then I cut a piece of watercolor paper slightly smaller than my A2 size card base and put my printed image underneath fixing it with a few stripes of post tape. Now if you have a light box, use it to trace the image outlines on your watercolor paper. And if, like me, you don’t have the light box, well, put your paper against the window and you’ll be able to transfer the cute bunny on your watercolor piece.

I kept the pencil lines very soft and then went over with an eraser leaving only very light outlines since I wanted my bunny to be white! On this particular card I used a high quality cold pressed watercolor paper and some professional watercolors! But you definitely can use any watercolor paper you have on hand and any watercolor media included watercolor pencils and distress or dye inks for this technique!

Thanks A Latte #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Bunny Latte digital stamp by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivasI kept this card clean and simple leaving the main focus on the watercolor piece. The sentiment that I used here also comes with Bunny Latte Digital Stamp. I cut out a simple fish-tail banner and added a little bit of color on it because the white card stock I used for printing didn’t match a slightly creamy color of the watercolor paper.

That’s all for today! Hope you like the idea and will give it a try! Here’s the link to my previous post from Stretch Your Digital Stamps Card Series where I talk about building a digital scene. And please, stay tuned! There are still so many arguments and some great tips and tricks to cover!

As always thanks so much for stopping by! And if you have any question, please, leave it in the comment area below!

Craftin Desert Divas March Release – Somebunny

Hello and welcome!

Wishing you a hoppy day with a sweet bunny card! This cutie is from Craftin Desert Divas new Somebunny stamp set. It has been just released!

Today I chose a little bunny girl for my card and placed her on the Inside Scalloped Circle Die to create a focal point! I used a Bristol paper this time and put in work my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Love the beautiful bright colors they give! The leaf branches also come with the same Inside Scalloped Circle Die set and were color with Zig markers as well!

I decided to make my own pattern paper for the background by simply stamping a few egg images with a white pigment ink on a kraft cardstock. Since I didn’t want to add any other extra layers on my card, I stretched my sentiment stamp (all the stamps I used on this card come from the same Somebunny stamp set) by trimming it in half and stamped it around the circle die. Here’s the tip how to put the stamps in a perfect shape: first place the circle die onto your acrylic block or on the door of you stamping tool, then bend and place the sentiment stamp around, remove the die and stamp! This will help you to achieve a perfect curve for your card!

Finally I arranged my elements on the card base and embellished with some colorful drops from Nuvo. I used Crystal Apple Green and Crystal Ebony Black colors.

That all for today! Hope you like this sweet bunny and my card! As always thanks so much for stopping by! If you want to see this cutie in action on another card, please, check this post!

This set is really fantastic and unique! Funny cute little unicorn’s faces just make me smile very time I look at them plus this stamp set has some fabulous sentiments!

I put in work my watercolors this time and did a splotchy non-perfect watercolor background after heat embossing some clouds with white embossing powder on a watercolor paper. The emboss images resist to the color and give you an interesting, but non-distractive background.

Make A Wish #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Magical Unicorns stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

The unicorns were stamped on a watercolor paper as well. I decided to add a rainbow pattern to them so that they would match the rainbow stamp. Assembling the card I put two raised panels on both sides of my card base and popped the colored images on foam tape. A few clear sparkling matching sequins finished this clean and simple card!

That all for today! Hope you like the cute magical unicorns and my card! As always thanks so much for stopping by! If you want to see these cuties in action again, please, check my sneak peek post here!

I played with my watercolors this time. I started by stamping Newton under the umbrella with a waterproof ink on a watercolor paper. Once finished watercolor part, I die-cut it with the coordinating die and proceed to work on the background. I made a few elements to put together using ink smooching. It very easy and fun technique!!! All you need is a piece of clear plastic sheet. You can definitely recycle a plastic packaging for this purpose. Smooch the ink on you plastic piece, spritz it with some water and apply the ink to your project.
