Hugs & Kisses #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

Hello and welcome!!!

I’ve popped in with another all occasions card made with rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs plus some ideas how to stretch more the stamps from your stash and create customized pattern paper.

In this post I would like to focus on how you can easily create your own pattern paper using background stamps. On this project I stretched Let It Snow Background stamp and transformed into a dotted pattern paper by simply making a tone on tone stamping: green dots on a green cardstock for the grass/ ground portion and light blue dots on a light blue paper for the sky background. Then the background elements were shaped with Land Borders and Frames & Flags Die sets from Newton’s Nook Designs to form the layered background, but these simple elements can also be easily hand cut with a pair of scissors or paper trimmer.

I did nothing fancy on the rest of the card. The cute Willa Walking Bunny, balloons from Ballon Trio & Streamer set and Clouds were stamped on Strathmore Bristol paper with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, fussy cut with a pair of sharp small scissors, leaving little white edge around and then colored with Tombow markers. The sentiment from Sweet Occasions Sentiment Set was simply heat embossed on a strip of a black paper. Finally all the elements were added to an extended A2 size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) white card base with a bit of dimension.

In case you’re interested, I’m leaving you the complete list of all the colors used on this project: TOMBOW MARKERS N79, 025, 055, 133, 173, 452, 665, 703, 725, 761, 933.

Celebrate Spring #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Basket of Wishes stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Honestly it was hard to peek only one stamp set to play one more time! I decided to feature amazing Basket of Wishes stamp set since it has a spring feel! To start, I stamped a basket, the flower top and three birdies, colored them with watercolor markers and fussy cut right against the stamp lines with my favorite sharp small scissors. I took a black brush marker and colored the fussy cut edges to hide any imperfection due to the fussy cutting. I also prepared a sentiment, heat embossing the words from Basket of Wishes stamp set on two narrow stripes of a black cardstock.

As always, here’s the complete list of all the colors used on this project: TOMBOW MARKERS 055, 126, 133, 195, 725, 743, 885, 905, 933, 946, 977 plus Zig Clean Color Real Brush marker n.61 Light Brown.

Working on the layout I decided to play again with a circle focus point, but built it with a bit of dimension. Please check my previous post to see another way to make a circle focus point card and more inspiration on retiring stamps by clicking right here! To start, I trimmed and scored a regular A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) white card base and die cut a circle from Neenah Solar White paper. I inked some clouds inside the circle through Clouds stencil with Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink. I also die cut two layers of the grass using Land Borders Die Set and then assembled all the elements with a foam tape. A few clear sparking sequins finished this clean and simple card.

Let’s Celebrate Card (ft. Purple Onion Designs)

Let's Celebrate #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

Hello and welcome!!!

I’ve popped in with a clean and simple all occasions card made with rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs.

Let's Celebrate #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

To start, I took a piece of Strathmore Bristol paper and VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s crisp and waterproof along with Blooms, Farm Wagon and Beach Grass #2 Large stamps. All these images are designed by talented Stacey Yacula, but come from different collections. However they are so easy and fun to mix and match on one project! The rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs come unmounted that’s why I used the temporary mounting solution with my compact stamp press for stamping. I fussy cut all the stamps with a pair of sharp small scissors, leaving little white border around and then colored them with Tombow markers.

As always, here’s the complete list of all the colors used here: TOMBOW MARKERS 025, 055, 090, 133, 173, 249, 373, 493, 665, 743, 905, 933, 992, 977.

The last stamped element was the sentiment from Everyday Blurbs stamp set. The layout turned out as a card with a circle central focus point. I die cut a stitched rectangle with a matching stitched circle window inside using the dies from SimonSays Stamp. I also added some clouds through Newton’s Nook Clouds stencil (Looove this versatile product so much! I find myself to use it again and again!) with Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink and a blending brush. Finally I assemble all the elements with a bit of fun dimension.

Celebrate Card For SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #65

Celebrate #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Birthday Balloons stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

Hello and welcome!

Today is my turn to get you inspired for the SugarPea Designs monthly Mix It Up Challenge! I came up with almost one layer all occasion card featuring a basic copic coloring and a great way to get more from the coordinating dies.

In case you want to play along, as well, here’s how you can do that: you have all month to play along and make a project using just the inspiration, just the sketch or Mix it Up and use both! It is totally up to you! You can find all the rules at SugarPea blog right here!!!

I love one layer cards and masking techniques that are used for creating one layer scenes though, honestly, I’m a bit lazy sometimes to fussy cut the masking paper. I often prefer to die cut every single stamp, make coloring and then assemble all the elements together on the background. But fantastic Party Balloon SugarCut from SugarPea Designs makes your and my lives much easier because it matches perfectly the outlines of Birthday Balloons stamp set. So no fussy cutting was needed this time! I managed to die cut quickly all the masks from a masking paper with the coordinating SugarCut and used them to stamp the balloons one on top of the other with copic friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Actually this project is made with two masking techniques and both are super quick and easy because of the dies. As I mentioned before, first I masked and stamped all the balloons. Then I prepared the second mask die cutting a circle from Zig Zag Stitched Circles SugarCut inside a rectangle trimmed to an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″). I positioned the negative part of the die in the center of the background keeping the balloon masks in place. I inked the circle window with Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink and a blending brushe and finally was able to lift all the masks and proceed with copic coloring.

As always, these are all the colors combos of copic markers used on this project: RV0000-RV00-RV10-RV02; YG0000-YG00-YG01-YG05; Y0000-Y00-Y11-Y15; Y00-Y11-Y15-Y17-YR14; YR000-YR00-YR02.

Once finished with coloring, I slightly trimmed the colored piece and popped it on an A2 size white card base along with a heat embossed sentiment from the same Birthday Balloons set and a few clear sparkling sequins.

Hope you like this clean and simple card! Now it’s your turn to link up your creations for a chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate from SugarPea Designs! Can’t wait to see what you create!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!

Hugs,
Tatiana

No Line Watercolored Spring Scene (ft. Purple Onion Designs)

Hello #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

Hello and welcome!!!

Sharing today a very simple no-line watercolor card featuring amazing big Perfect Spot stamp set from Purple Onion Designs.

Hello #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

This project is very easy to recreate and you don’t need to own a lot of fancy stuff at all. I started with a cold pressed watercolor paper from Arches, but you can obviously use any other brand you have on hand. I quickly mounted the Perfect Spot stamp on my compact stamp press with the temporary mounting solution and stamped the image with Antique Linen Distress ink since it’s light and reactivates with water. I put the first layer of watercolors, let the piece air dry and then came back adding more details and texture to the scene. Once the paper was dry, I added a bit more interest restoring some stamp lines with colored pencils designing strokes and points here and there across the image.

Hello #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

I used a doted rectangle die from SugarPea Designs’ Card Front Element Builder II set trimming the image to fit an extended A2 (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) size card base. As a final touch I popped a small heat embossed sentiment from Sweet Occasions Sentiment Set that completed the project.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Tatiana
