Celebrate Card For SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #65

Celebrate #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Birthday Balloons stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

Hello and welcome!

Today is my turn to get you inspired for the SugarPea Designs monthly Mix It Up Challenge! I came up with almost one layer all occasion card featuring a basic copic coloring and a great way to get more from the coordinating dies.

In case you want to play along, as well, here’s how you can do that: you have all month to play along and make a project using just the inspiration, just the sketch or Mix it Up and use both! It is totally up to you! You can find all the rules at SugarPea blog right here!!!

I love one layer cards and masking techniques that are used for creating one layer scenes though, honestly, I’m a bit lazy sometimes to fussy cut the masking paper. I often prefer to die cut every single stamp, make coloring and then assemble all the elements together on the background. But fantastic Party Balloon SugarCut from SugarPea Designs makes your and my lives much easier because it matches perfectly the outlines of Birthday Balloons stamp set. So no fussy cutting was needed this time! I managed to die cut quickly all the masks from a masking paper with the coordinating SugarCut and used them to stamp the balloons one on top of the other with copic friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Actually this project is made with two masking techniques and both are super quick and easy because of the dies. As I mentioned before, first I masked and stamped all the balloons. Then I prepared the second mask die cutting a circle from Zig Zag Stitched Circles SugarCut inside a rectangle trimmed to an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″). I positioned the negative part of the die in the center of the background keeping the balloon masks in place. I inked the circle window with Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink and a blending brushe and finally was able to lift all the masks and proceed with copic coloring.

As always, these are all the colors combos of copic markers used on this project: RV0000-RV00-RV10-RV02; YG0000-YG00-YG01-YG05; Y0000-Y00-Y11-Y15; Y00-Y11-Y15-Y17-YR14; YR000-YR00-YR02.

Once finished with coloring, I slightly trimmed the colored piece and popped it on an A2 size white card base along with a heat embossed sentiment from the same Birthday Balloons set and a few clear sparkling sequins.

Hope you like this clean and simple card! Now it’s your turn to link up your creations for a chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate from SugarPea Designs! Can’t wait to see what you create!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!

Hugs,
Tatiana

Happy Birthday To You #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Hey, Winter stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

Hello and welcome!

I’m super excited to be featured on SugarPea Designs blog!!! Today I came up with a cute and sweet shaker birthday card featuring so adorable Hey Winter stamp and die sets.

Happy Birthday To You #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Hey, Winter stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

Inspired by the graphic of the current March Mix It Up Challenge from SugarPea Designs, I flipped through my stash and found a super adorable Hey Winter stamp set that has many sweet images and different sentiments suitable for different occasions.

To start, I die cut from Neenah Solar White paper the small sitting bear using Hey Winter SugarCut along with a couple of accessories plus two balloons from Balloon Numbers SugarCut to complete a birthday scene. Next I stamped the coordinating images from Hey Winter and Balloon Numbers stamp sets with Memento Tuxedo Black ink since it’s copic friendly. Finally I colored all the images with copic markers.

In case you’re interested, here’re all the exact colors of copic markers used on the card: E000-E30-E31-E33-E35; RV00-RV02-RV10; YG0000-YG00-YG01-YG05; BG000-BG10-BG11-BG23; Y00-Y11-Y15; YR000-YR00-YR14; R22.

A regular A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) white card base was inked with Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink and embellished through Falling Snow Stencil with a gold glitter embossing gel. While the embossing paste was drying, I prepared a Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle where I die cut a circle inside using Zig Zag Stitched Circles SugarCut. I adhered a piece of a clear acetate from the back side of the circle window to create a shaker area, filled it with some sequins and sealed to the card base with a foam tape. Finally I popped the colored image on the card front along with a heat embossed sentiment strip from Hey Winter stamp set.

That’s all for today! Hope this shaker birthday card will inspire you! As always thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Hugs,
Tatiana

Hello and welcome!

I’m super excited to be featured on SugarPea Designs blog!!! Today I came up with a cute birthday card featuring so adorable Love Machine stamp and die sets.

Gear Up #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Love Machine stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

To start, I die cut two sweet robots and tiny bows from Neenah Solar White paper using Love Machine SugarCut. Next I stamped the coordinating images from Love Machine stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink since it’s copic friendly. I save and used the negative parts of the dies into the MISTI stamping positioning tool for a perfect alignment. Finally I colored all the images with copic markers.

In case you’re interested, here’re all the exact colors of copic markers used on the card: T0-T1-T3-T5; RV0000-RV00-RV02-RV04-RV10; YG00-YG01-YG13; Y0000-Y11-Y13-Y15-Y17 plus YR15; BG10-BG23.

The fun colorful and textured brick pattern used on the background was created through English Bond Brick Wall Stencil. I mixed a plain white embossing paste with Spiced Marmalade Distress and Picked Raspberry Distress inks using a palette knife on a sleek, non sticky surface. I tapped the stencil to a piece of a white cardstock, applied the orange colorful paste towards the bottom part of the rectangle and the pink tone from the top part, mixing both colors in the center for a gradient effect. Next I carefully lift up the stencil and let the piece air dry well. Meanwhile I heat embossed the matching sentiment from the same Love Machine stamp set I used before and then assembled all the elements together with a bit of dimension. As a final touch I put a generous coat of a clear shimmer pen on top of the colored robots.

That’s all for today! Hope this simple birthday card will inspire you! As always thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Hugs,
Tatiana

On my stop of this hop I’m sharing two spring cards. The first one is a watercolor project featuring beautiful flowers. To start, I proceed with heat embossing. I stamped wonderful Easter Lily with VersaMark clear sticky ink, sprinkled with a white embossing powder and zapped with my heat gun.

Hello Spring #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Hello Spring stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

My second card is very simple with some bright and fresh spring colors! It was made using ONLY Hello Spring stamp set. To start, I prepared a round card base and cut away the curved branches from the top part of the stamp with my scarp small scissors so that I could stamp them a bit higher above the main image and then once again on the bottom part of the circle. I used a copic friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink for stamping and colored the image with copic markers.

As always, I’m leaving the complete list of all the colors used on this card: T0-T1-T3; YR00-YR02-YR04; Y00-Y11-Y15; BG10-BG11-BG23-BG32; RV00-RV02-RV04-RV13-RV14; R20-R21-R22-R24; YG00-YG01-YG03 plus G07; V01-V04.

For the card base I die cut a slightly larger scalloped circle using a flower patterned paper, adhered the colored circle on top and finishes with a tiny bow and a few matching sequins.

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Newton’s Nook February release! Thanks so much for joining me today!!!

All the new February products will be available for purchase on Friday, February 21th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!

Cute Boots Make Everything Better #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton's Rain Boots stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I’m so excited and happy to introduce you today the cutest Newton’s Rain Boots stamp set! A purr-fect mix between my ever favorites: kitty, spring rain boots and tulips! In case you’re interested, there’s the coordinating Newton’s Rain Boots Die Set too.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away Newton’s Rain Boots stamp set to a lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

Since we are taking about rain boots, I believed that watercolor would match this stamp set in a perfect way. So I started with Strathmore Bristol paper and VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I made the die cutting first using Newton’s Rain Boots Die Set and them stamped the coordinating images from Newton’s Rain Boots stamp set. As always I help myself with the negative parts of the dies for a perfect alignment while I was making the stamping in my MISTI tool. Next I proceeds with coloring using my water based markers and a small water brush from Pentel.

As always, I’m leaving you all the exact markers used on this project: TOMBOW 055, 133, 173, 249, 636, 665, 725, 873, 933, 946, 977.

Creating the background scene I added a tone on tone Raindrops to the sky portion through new just released on Monday stencil. The grass was inked through Hills & Grass border stencil. I used respectively Peacock Feather Distress Oxide and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks with the small blending brushes. The sentiment was simply stamped on the background with the same VersaFine Onyx Black ink I used before. Assembling the card, I popped all the elements on foam tape for a fun dimensional look and finished with a few crystal sparkling sequins.
