Happy Friday!

So happy you joined me! I thought it would be interesting to put up a new card series here on my blog featuring digital stamps. Well, I still use more and prefer actual stamps, but I would like to talk about why you may want to try digital ones. I’ll illustrate the advantages of them and showcase the possible ways of use. Hope you like the idea and will find it interesting!

Today I’m going talk about no-line coloring with digital stamps! I’m IN LOVE with this adorable bunny from Craftin Desert Divas Bunny Latte Digital Stamp and wanted to watercolor it. By now I did a few attempts printing digital stamps on different watercolor papers, but had no success since the watercolor papers are textured! So I figured out this simple way to transfer the image!

Thanks A Latte #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Bunny Latte digital stamp by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

I started by printing Bunny Latte Digital Stamp on a printer paper. The type of paper doesn’t matter at this point. Then I cut a piece of watercolor paper slightly smaller than my A2 size card base and put my printed image underneath fixing it with a few stripes of post tape. Now if you have a light box, use it to trace the image outlines on your watercolor paper. And if, like me, you don’t have the light box, well, put your paper against the window and you’ll be able to transfer the cute bunny on your watercolor piece.

I kept the pencil lines very soft and then went over with an eraser leaving only very light outlines since I wanted my bunny to be white! On this particular card I used a high quality cold pressed watercolor paper and some professional watercolors! But you definitely can use any watercolor paper you have on hand and any watercolor media included watercolor pencils and distress or dye inks for this technique!

Thanks A Latte #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Bunny Latte digital stamp by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivasI kept this card clean and simple leaving the main focus on the watercolor piece. The sentiment that I used here also comes with Bunny Latte Digital Stamp. I cut out a simple fish-tail banner and added a little bit of color on it because the white card stock I used for printing didn’t match a slightly creamy color of the watercolor paper.

That’s all for today! Hope you like the idea and will give it a try! Here’s the link to my previous post from Stretch Your Digital Stamps Card Series where I talk about building a digital scene. And please, stay tuned! There are still so many arguments and some great tips and tricks to cover!

As always thanks so much for stopping by! And if you have any question, please, leave it in the comment area below!

I decided to make a “thanks” card since there would never be enough in my stash and started by stamping with dye inks a bunch of flowers and leaves on a white card stock. My color choice was on pinky-peachy, orange and yellowy-green shades. Once finished stamping, I die-cut all the elements with the coordinating dies that come very handy for this set since it has so many little stamps with round shapes. I also die-cut a tag from NND Tags Times Two Die set and started arranging all the elements on a light gray base.

I popped up almost all the die-cuts on a foam tape to bring some dimension and a little extra something to the card, but if you are worried about shipping, you can definitely adhere everything flat. And finally I added a bow made out of a paper string and a few clear crystal drops from Nuvo.

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release and Giveaway – Winston Takes Flight and Sky Borders Die

Hello everyone and happy Monday!

So happy you joined me again today! What a great start of the week! So this is my post for the Newton’s Nook Designs March Release. And I have a few projects to share with you today!

Flying By #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Winston Takes Flight Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Today NND Design Team is showcasing a brand new stamp set with ADORABLE bear Winston called Winston Takes Flight along with the coordinating die set and fantastic stitched Sky Borders die.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving Winston Takes Flight stamp set away to one lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

Love this fantastic stamp set for it’s versatility! You can really cover any occasion by simply adding the right sentiment! And let me tell you that Sky Borders dies work so well with this this stamp set that I just couldn’t resist to put them in practice right away. And here’s my first card!

Flying By #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Winston Takes Flight Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I started die-cutting a stitched frame out of a white cardstock. Then I repeatedly die-cut a cloud shape on the inner panel and did a light ink blending from the bottom of every die-cut cloud. Finally I simply put back all the pieces in place like a puzzle.

I stamped the sentiment, the banner and the cute bear all from the same stamp set onto a copic friendly cardstock and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. I colored the images with copic markers and popped them on a foam tape. I finished to put my empty banner inside the card so that I can add later any sentiment I need.

And here is my second card. I decided to stretch my pattern paper and the coordinating dies that come with Winston Takes Flight stamp set on it and chose a matching sky chevron pattern paper.

I applied the pattern paper all over the front of my card base and popped on top a more narrow piece of a white cardstock where I previously die-cut pretty clouds that come with the coordinating die set. I stamped a few times the fun Winston on a copic friendly paper and on the pattern paper as well so that I could add to the stamp some cut out patterned color pieces.

Of course, I couldn’t not to use more foam tape and some matching sentiments on both cards along with a shimmer pen and a tiny touches of Glossy Accents.

Concord & 9th Guest Designer – Hello Lovely

web_banner_2_large

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!

This is my last post for Concord & 9th featuring their new November release and today I have two cards for you both created using Hello Lovely stamp set and Happy Card Frame dies.

c9-hello-2016-1

Hello Lovely is another gorgeous amazing stamp set that offers you so many possibilities. The most simple way to use it, of course, is to stamp a huge flower cluster (it’s fits perfectly A2 size card) and simply color it! I love that Concord & 9th thought about us crafters and made this clever stamp because it saves you sooooo much time: no masking, no cutting, no thinking about the arrangement of every single piece. Just stamp it and you are ready to go!

c9-hello-2016-3My first card is for those who, like me, love coloring. I simply heat embossed the stamp on a piece of a watercolor paper as it is the most simple way to watercolor the image. I decided to do a typical unperfected watercolor splotchy look and keep the colors quite soft. Once dried, I added some pencil details to the flowers and leaves and finished with the matching heat embossed sentiment and a few sequins.

c9-hello-2016-2

But if you prefer stamping or techniques, no worries as I have an example for you too! 😉

c9-thanks-2016-1

Super clean and simple! I created a tone-on-tone background, repeatedly stamping the word “Thanks”. Then I stamped and cut out only the big flower from the outline stamp and simply colored it with copic markers. Be sure to color the stamp edges with a black marker after fussy cutting and it will hide any imperfection! Finally all the elements were arranged and adhered on the card base.

c9-thanks-2016-2I’d like to give a huge thanks to Concord & 9th for having me on their blog! I really enjoyed using their products and had so much fun sharing my cards!

As always thanks so much for stopping by! I really appreciate your love and support!

Loads of Thanks – Stretch Your Stamps Card Series (ft. MFT Stamps)

mft-loads-of-thanks-2016-1

Hello guys!

I’m back with a post for the Card Design Superstar contest hosted by My Favorite Things and another example how you can stretch your craft supplies. And, yes, finally autumn colors on my blog!!!  😉

I played with the adorable Loads of Thanks stamp set and came out with a simple one layer design with some “wow” elements and a lot of details: Perfect Pearls and watercolor splotches, Ranger’s Stickles Star Dust Glitter, Glossy Accents, some doodling, a few sequins and little accents with a white gel pen.

mft-loads-of-thanks-2016-3

I would like to stop and spend a few words about simple masking I did on this card. No additional stamping or fussy cutting is necessary. I used posted notes to mask either the small leaves from the MFT’s Forest Friends set or the original Pure Innocence image. Here’s the step by step tutorial: first stamp a few leaves on the ground, use posted notes to avoid overlapping the stamp outlines, mask the pots inside the wagon before inking the stamp, then fill the top part of the wagon with other leaves and acorns using the same technique with posted notes, finally coat everything with a liquid mask. Once dried the liquid mask would protect your stamping while you are working on the background. In the end, peel off the liquid mask and color your image with any media you like (I used copic markers on my card).

mft-loads-of-thanks-2016-2

That’s pretty much all for today! If you have any question, leave it in the comment area below. As always thanks so much for stopping by! I really appreciate it a lot!
