Cheers Card For SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #63

Hello and welcome!

Today is my turn to get you inspired for the SugarPea Designs monthly Mix It Up Challenge! I came up with quite simple all occasions card, making a bit of die cutting and heat embossing!

In case you want to play along, as well, here’s how you can do that: you have all month to play along and make a project using just the inspiration, just the sketch or Mix it Up and use both! It is totally up to you! You can find all the rules at SugarPea blog right here!!!

To start, I heat embossed two champagne glasses on vellum from Cheers To You stamp set with a Fine Gold Embossing Powder. I used the same embossing powder on a piece of a white cardstock to create my own metallic gold paper for the champagne bottle details and then die cut all the elements with Cheers To You SugarCut.

The background was inked with Simon Hurley Overzealous, Simon Says Stamp Fern and Vintage Photos Distress inks. I heat set the background and then die cut a scalloped frame from Card Front Element Builder to match the sketch. I also added some white and dark green splatters and heat embossed elements from Cheers To You stamp set. The die cut sentiment comes from Cheers SugarCut. I prepared the word part from a plain white cardstock and the shadow element from vellum. Finally I assembles everything together skipping any other embellishment.

Holiday Card Series 2019 – Happy New Year Card (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

Hello and welcome!

I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a sweet and cute Happy New Year card!

I believe this is my last post for the Newton’s Nook this year and so New Year theme seemed to be perfect for this project. I flipped through my stash and found two wonderful Newton Celebrates and Newton’s New Year stamp sets that are so much fun to mix and match!

To start, I die cut the cutest critters opening the champagne bottle and a couple of glasses from Neenah Solar White paper using the coordinating Newton Celebrates Die Set and Newton’s New Year Die Set. Then I stamped the open images from Newton Celebrates and Newton’s New Year stamp sets using a copic friendly ink and colored everything with copic markers.

As always, I’m leaving you all the exact colors used here: COPIC MARKERS E40-E41-E43; R02-R05-R08-R46; YG00-YG21-YG23-YG25; C00-C1-C2; Y0000-Y00-Y11-Y15-Y18; R0000-R11; E0000-E30-E31.

Designing this card, I thought that red and gold colors will fit the New Year Theme perfectly. And so I heat embossed the sentiment and a few spare confetti from Newton Celebrates and Newton’s New Year stamp sets using a super fine gold embossing powder. Then I inked a matching pattern through Confetti Stencil with Candied Apple Distress ink and heat set it with a clear matte embossing powder for a tone on tone look. Finally arranged all the elements on an A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) card base and added a couple of matching sequins adhering them with Multi Medium Matte glue.

Oh What Fun Winter Card (ft. Purple Onion Designs Pine Cone Trail Collection) And Sale Alert!

Hello and welcome!!!

I’ve popped in today to share a fun winter card made with some stamps from the Purple Onion Designs’ Pine Cone Trail Collection that will fit holiday season and many other occasions too.

Sale alert! Purple Onion Designs has a great sale these days! You can get all the new and old stamps at a discounted price until December, 13. So don’t forget to grab your favorites.

This project is very simple and involves only some basic stamping and coloring that you can do with any color medium you have on hand. My choice was on on Strathmore Bristol paper, VersaFine Onyx Black ink and watercolor markers. I stamped beautiful new big Frozen Pond background plus Arthur (Ice Fishing Polar Bear) that comes with a bucket and Wren (Winter Bird with Fishing Net).

And here’s the complete list of all the markers used: TOMBOW N75, 090, 126, 243, 451, 452, 623, 723, 946, 899, 977, 992.

Once finished with coloring I popped all the elements on a foam tape and finished with the sentiment from Holiday Blurbs II set and a few matching sequins.

SugarPea Designs Winter 2019 Release: Day 2

Today’s Introductions include… the cutest, adorable doggie in For Pug Sake stamp set suitable for multiple occasions; amazing Envelope Liner SugarCut useful to add a personal twist to you mails. This new SugarCut matches perfectly new envelopes in metallic and smooth finishes.

And here’s what I came up with for you today! A clean and simple copic colored card! To start, I prepared a rectangle die cutting it with Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles SugarCut on Neenah SolarWhite paper. Next I stamped the cutest little pug plus an additional balloon, the grass and a few clouds from For Pug Sake stamp set and colored the whole scene with copic markers. I fussy cut right against the stamp lines the additional balloon and popped it with a bit of dimension on top of the stamped balloon. Just for something little extra I added a brick wall pattern with a light gray ink directly on the card base. Pssssss…. English Bond Brick Wall Stencil is a little peek on what is coming next days! Stay tuned!

At this point I added the colored scene on the card base and embellished the project with a few clear tiny sequins and a coat of ZIG Wink of Stella GLITTER CLEAR Brush Tip Marker. Last but not least, I prepared a fun envelope insert with the matching brick wall pattern using new Envelope Liner SugarCut.

And here’s what I came up with for you today! A cute and colorful Happy New Year card!!! I played around with Cheers To You stamp set and tried to get out of it as much as I could. To start, I obviously die cut some glasses using the coordinating Cheers To You SugarCut from Strathmore Bristol paper and then stamped the coordinating images from Cheers To You stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, helping myself with the negative parts of the die cuts for a perfect alignment. Next I took my watercolor markers and a small water brush from Pentel and colored all the stamps.

In case you’re wondering, here’s the complete list of all TOMBOW markers used on this project: N95, 055, 133, 173, 177, 195, 296, 443, 452, 665, 815, 856, 885, 873, 933, 946.

Working on the card base, I masked the bottom part of the card front and inked the top one with Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Wilted Violet Distress inks. I also added a tone on tone stamped fireworks using Fossilized Amber Oxide, Spiced Marmalade Oxide and Wilted Violet Oxide Distress inks for a festive look. Next I heat embossed the dotted border line on a strip of a black cardstock to ground the glasses and added the Happy New Year sentiment. All those elements come from the same Cheers To You stamp set. Wow! What a fun and versatile product!!! Finally I popped all the colored glasses on a foam tape and prepared a few small accessories using again the same Cheers To You stamp and die sets.
