On my stop for this hop I’m sharing some cuties from adorable Hey Fall stamp set. I looooove so much all the sweet critters from the set which are just perfect for scene building. To start, I made all the die cutting using the coordinating Hey Fall SugarCut. I worked on Neenah Solar White paper since it’s copic friendly and it’s also perfect as a card base. My MISTI tool came very handy for the stamping. I used the negative parts of the dies to help me with the alignment and managed to achieve all the elements in no time. I chose Memento Tuxedo Black ink for stamping the open images from Hey Fall stamp set since it’s meant to work with alcohol markers.

The background was inked with Simon Says Stamp Twirling Tutu, Melon and Surf Blue inks. I used the blending brushes and a very light hand to achieve a soft and smooth result and then flicked a few tiny shimmer droplets just for something little extra. I popped the background piece on an extended A2 size white card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″), arranged all the colored stamps and finished with a a heat embossed sentiment and a few clear sparkling sequins.

On my stop of this hop you’ll find a clean and simple card with a pop of bright rainbow colors. To start, I played with my Big Shot die cutting machine and Open Book SugarCut. I die cut the book shape multiple times from the scraps of colorful cardstock I had in my stash, the eye glasses elements and a tiny heart from Beautiful Books SugarCut.

The background was embellished through English Bond Brick Wall Stencil. I mixed a plain white embossing paste with Pumice Stone Distress ink to achieve the desirable shade and then applied it giving a bit of fun texture. Once dried, I popped the background pattern on an extended A2 size white card base with the matching stamped sentiment from Beautiful Books stamp set. Finally I added the colorful books and the glasses on top.

Newton’s Nook Designs’ June Release and Giveaway – Day 4 – Porch Swing Friends & Roses

Hello and welcome to the final day the Newton’s Nook June release! Thanks so much for hopping along all this week and for all the wonderful comments you left me! I appreciate so much all your love and support!

The last day of the release has reserved us two small, but not less adorable stamp sets: the cutest P orch Swing Friends and beautiful Roses. Both sets come with the coordinating dies.

My first card features the cutest sweet scene from P orch Swing Friends stamp set. Since I worked with water based markers, I went for my win win combo: Strathmore Bristol paper, VersaFine Onyx Black ink, Pentel Water Brush and MISTI tool. I made the die cutting first using the coordinating P orch Swing Friends Die Set, then stamped the open images from P orch Swing Friends stamp set, let the ink air dry and finally colored all the elements.

As always, I’m leaving you all the exact colors used on this project: TOMBOW MARKERS N79, 133, 195, 452, 723, 743, 933, 946, 947, 992, 993, 977.

An extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) was trimmed and scored from a light gray card stock. I cut out another white rectangle to go on top where I die cut a square using Frames Squared Die Set, creating a sort of polaroid frame element. I thought a bit out of boxes and transformed the cloud die from Sky Borders Die Set into a tree foliage by inking it with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink. I also inked the leftover die cut square with Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink to use as a background behind the fur friends. P orch Swing Friends Die Set comes with an extra word dies and so I picked the “relax” one to pair with the stamped sentiment from P orch Swing Friends stamp set. Finally I assembled the card with a bit of dimension.

The next project features amazing Roses stamp and die sets. To start, I die cut twice the flower cluster from Fabriano Extra White Hot Pressed Watercolor paper. I used my MISTI tool and the negative part of the die to stamped the roses with Antique Linen Distress ink. This type of ink is very light and reactivates with water which makes it perfect for no-line coloring.

I’ll be honest, no-line coloring is not fast, but I looooove coloring and don’t mind to spend a few hours working on a project sometimes. I used regular watercolors this time and tried to mix different shades between pinks and yellows to create some variation in colors.

Once finished with coloring, I prepaid a kraft card base with faux stitched scalloped rectangle from Frames & Flags Die Set. Then I heat embossed the sentiment with a fine gold embossing powder and framed it into a circle using new Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set. I finished this project with a matching kraft and gold bow and a few clear iridescent sequins.

SugarPea Designs Spring 2020 Release: Day 5

Today’s I decided to stretch more beautiful Floral Envie stamp and the coordinating Floral Envie SugarCut that comes with an extra word with shadow die “SMILE”.

To start, I die cut a piece of hot pressed watercolor paper from Fabriano brand using a dotted rectangle from Card Front Element Builder II that is large enough to cover the whole A2 size card front (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″). Next I stamped at an angle beautiful Floral Envie images with Antique Linen Distress ink. This ink is light and reactivates with water what makes it perfect for no-line coloring. I proceeded with coloring using Tombow markers and the small water brush from Pentel. No-line coloring is not fast so it took me a while to finish both flowers clusters, but I enjoyed very much the coloring process!

Here’s the list of the colors used on this project: TOMBOW 192, 757, 772, 850, 991.

I popped the colored panel on the card base and prepared a heat embossed sentiment. First I die cut the word “SMILE” from Floral Envie SugarCut, smooched VersaMark ink on top and embossed the die with a fine gold embossing powder. I repeated this step a few times to achieve a smooth metallic look. Next I heat embossed the word “FRIEND” from Floral Envie stamp set on a tiny piece of a black cardstock and finally assembled all the elements together. As a finish touch, I adhered a bunch of matching sequins.

New Release From Purple Onion Designs Illustrated By Julian Charton

Hello and welcome!!!

I’m back with my another project featuring amazing new collection of rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs illustrated by very talented Julian Charlton. There are 7 new adorable stamp sets that are perfect for quick, clean and simple card making! Each set contains one illustration along with several different sentiments. Lottie’s Gang along with Elliot & Marcel will bring a smile to your face. You might find the “Hugs” sets very appropriate for what we are all experiencing around the world right now.

Lottie’s Gang – Squad Hugs stamp set that I used on todays’ card is probably one of my favorites from this new collection. I went again for a clean and simple design. To start, I stamped the hug squad on Neenah Solar White paper with copic friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with copic markers and then fussy cut with the sharp small scissors leaving a little white edge around. Easy! Right?! An extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) was prepared from the same Neenah Solar White paper along with a stitched square die cut using Newton’s Nook Frames Squared Die Set. I inked the square using Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers Distress inks and the blending brushes with a very light hand. I added a simply stamped sentiment from the same Lottie’s Gang – Squad Hugs set and started assembling all the elements together using a foam tape. I finished this project with a few clear sparkling sequins.
