Happy Birthday Card (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a sweet birthday card with the adorable mischievous kitty!

It was quite some time I haven’t done a kitty card and so it was time so choose one of the NND cat’s set! The choice was tough because NND has tons of adorable images, but finally I decided to play more with Newton Celebrates stamp set! It’s super versatile and can cover lots of occasions!

To start I die cut the cute kitty in the Martini glass from Strathmore Bristol paper using the coordinating Newton Celebrates Die Set. Next I stamped the outline image and colored it with watercolor markers.

In case we’re wondering, here’re all the exact TOMBOW markers I used on this card: n.N75, n.025, n.026, n.055, n.090, n.126, n.133, n.443, n.491, n.623, n.703, n.800, n.991, n.933.

When I work with cute stamps, I like to keep them in focus and make simple backgrounds. And so I masked the bottom part of the card front with a piece of a sticky tape and inked on top Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet Distress inks. Then I placed on top Confetti stencil and inked again using the same inks to create a tone on tone pattern. A few water droplets added a fun look to the background and finally I could assemble everything and add a birthday sentiment from the same Newton Celebrates stamp set.

Holiday Card Series 2018 – A Flurry Of Warm Wishes Card (ft. SugarPea Designs)

Happy Christmas to Everyone!
Today I’ve popped in for a very quick post just to wish any of you a peaceful holiday season and share this simple watercolor card!

Creating this card, I played a bit with my regular tube watercolors and started working with two primary shades: red and blue. I mixed a few custom colors and applied them in layers on a piece of a cold pressed watercolor paper. Next I die cut three snowflakes from SugarPea Designs Snowflake Tag set, put a generous coat of Multi Medium Mat adhesive on top and covered with Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter for some extra texture. The matching sentiment from Flurry Of Warm Wishes stamp set was heat embossed on a purple stripe of paper shaped into a fish tale banner. Finally some clear sequins finished the whole project.

Holiday Card Series 2018 With Rubber Stamps From Purple Onion Designs

I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and so impatient to share last cards from my Holiday Card Series 2018! Thanks soooooo much for all your love and support! May your holiday season be wonderful, peaceful and filled with love!!!

This year I had a chance to make a little collaboration with Purple Onion Designs and used for the first time their unmounted deeply etched red rubber stamps. I was really impressed by the quality of their products and even though I used a regular acrylic block for stamping instead of a usual stamping poisoning tool, I managed to achieve good impressions on the paper both with Memento Tuxedo Black and VersaFine Onyx Black inks. I haven’t had on hand the accessories necessary to mount this type of stamps, but simply used a bit of non-permanent runner tape on the regular acrylic block as I needed something to stick the stamps to their surface.

My first card is turned out as a soft winter scene colored with watercolor markers and Distress inks. I used a snowman and a few scene building stamps from Purple Onion Designs, stamped them with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on a Strathmore Bristol paper and then fussy cut with small sharp scissors leaving a little white edge around.

Here’s the complete list of all the colors used:
Tombow Markers n.090, n.126, n.452, n.623, n.673, n.723, n.991, n.946, n.977;
Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers n.50 Yellow, n.70 Orange, n.80 Violet.

I had no problems to get a very good impression with a copic friendly inks too although the stamp lines on this cute fox from Purple Onion Designs are so tiny. Even the bold sentiment worked so well! Besides I just love this style of bubble speech!

And here’s the complete list of all the copic markers used on this card: YR21-YR15-YR68; YG00-YG21-YG23; W00-W1-W2-W3; C00-C2-C3.

Since I wanted to keep the main focus on the fox and coloring, I opted for a soft tone-on-tone background using a few shades of blue Distress inks and a Snowfall stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs.

Last but definitely not least, we have a fun Christmas stockings. I stamped a few on Strathmore Bristol paper, the same I used on my first card, using the same VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

The color choice was on a traditional holiday reds and greens. I used:

Tombow Markers n.N15, n.126, n.885;
Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Marker n.29 Geranium Red.

I like to get creative with the supplies and think out of boxes and so Snow Fort stamp was looking for me like the bricks on the fireplace. I inked it partially with a brown dye ink and stamped here and there creating the background on this project!!!

To start I took Neenah Solar White paper and die cut a bunch of small elements from Poinsettia Blooms Die Set. Then helping myself with a stamping positioning tool for a quick stamping, I added the outlines on the die cuts using the matching Poinsettia Blooms stamp set and a copic friendly black ink. Next I proceeded with coloring using copic markers as you guessed!

In case we’re wondering, here’re all the exact copic markers I used on this card: YG21-YG93-YG95-YG97; YG17-YG67-G28; G09; R22-R24-R27-R29-R39.

Creating the background, I played with a fun Argyle Stencil Set. I used three different tones of Distress green inks: Twisted Citron, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint and shifted both layers of Argyle Stencil a few times to achieve a full pattern. I also added a few water droplet and colorful splashes on top for more interest. The sentiment from Winter Memories stamp set was simply heat embossed on a piece of a red cardstock with a white embossing paste. Finally I arranged all the elements on regular A2 size card base and adhered with a bit of dimension.

Newton’s Nook Designs Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!

Today I’m playing with a few fun new goodies released by Newton’s Nook Designs during the Holiday period! So let’s take another look on the super adorable moose from Moose Mountain stamp set and amazing Petite Snow stencil!

Working on this project I started with a die cutting process and created a snow hill using Land Borders Die Set along with the coordinating cut from Moose Mountain Die Set. Next I aligned the negative part of the moose in my stamping positioning tool and added the coordinating image plus the sentiment both from the same Moose Mountain stamp set using a black copic friendly ink. Before proceeding with coloring, I prepared a regular A2 size card base, inked it with a light blue tones of Distress inks and then added a snow pattern through Petite Snow stencil using a white embossing paste. While the embossing paste was drying, I colored the moose with copic markers and finally popped everything together using a foam tape for a bit of dimension.
