Hello and welcome!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing two sweet and cute cards!
I just cannot put aside new fantastic goodies from the Newton’s Nook Designs February release without stretching them more and had a lot of fun playing again with two of my favorites! So let’s see what I came up with this time!
My first card features a super adorable Bitty Bunnies stamp set. I totally felt in LOOOOOOVE with these sweet images! And inspire of the dimension of this set, it’s so incredibly versatile and literary can cover all the occasions around the year!!! Today I paired it with Cloudy Sky stencil and created a stack of cute bunnies first die-cut with the coordinating dies and then stamped and finally colored with copic markers. Please, check all the exact copic marker numbers I used here at the bottom of this post. Working on the background, before adding puffy clouds through Cloudy Sky stencil with a white embossing paste, I added an under color with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide. And once everything was dry, I arranged all the elements with a bit of dimension.
My second card is definitely more traditional Easter one. I simply grabbed one of the so adorable images from Newton’s Easter Basket stamp set, stamped it with Antique Linen Distress ink on a bristol paper because my intention was to make a no-line coloring. My color media choice was on Zig markers and I just sat down and enjoyed the coloring process.
While the watercolor piece were drying, I prepared an additional stitched frame die-cut from Frames & Flags die set, added color to the background with the same Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks I used before, applied a white embossing paste through Cloudy Sky stencil and stamped the sentiment from the same Newton’s Easter Basket set. Here’s a little tip for you: working with the stencil, I didn’t smoothed purposely the embossing paste, but left it uneven for a textured and dimensional look. The final step was die-cutting the colored stamped with the coordinating dies and arranging all the elements on a regular A2 size card base.
That’s all for today! Hope you like these sweet cards! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
