Hello and welcome!
This week Newton’s Nook Designs and Chibitronics are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to light up your cards using Chibi lights with Newton’s Nook Designs stamps!
And here’s my cute card for you featuring super sweet Fireside Friends! I LOVE so much this cute stamp set for a whimsical style and a fantastic big scene ready to go on the card front! So no masking is needed, just stamp the image and you are good to color with any color media you like. In fact, Fireside Friends are purr-fect for coloring on the go!
So I made this clean and simple card spending some time on watercoloring with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and added a fun interactive mechanism for a surprise element! Chibi lights couldn’t be any perfect for this sweet scene and the fireplace and so I built a simple circuit following the instructions that comes with a Starter Kit from Chibitronics! I put the “battery house” under the kitty stamp so that I could leave a little note to the recipient inside the card, telling to touch the kitty for a little surprise!!!
Since I wanted the light shows up more through the card front, I partially cut the image following the fire stamp line with my exacto knife and colored all the edges with a black marker to hide any imperfection from cutting. Then I adhered a piece of vellum to the back side of the panel and slided a piece of a foam tape between the vellum and the fire to raise the cut part! The transparency of the vellum let the light come through, but hides the interactive elements!
Would you like to win a prize pack including a Starter Kit from Chibitronics and a $30 store credit to Newton’s Nook Designs?
As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Tatiana
