Hello everyone and happy Monday!
A new Newton’s Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #47 starts today and I just couldn’t not play along! This is my inspiration projects for you!
The current challenge is a color one. And I LIKE so much the bright juicy colors from the inspiration graphic! So I hope they will inspire you to play along, just make a project using pink, orange, yellow and teal inspired by the graphic you see below paired with at least one Newton’s Nook Designs brand stamp or die and upload it here for a chance to win a store credit at Newton’s Nook Designs online shop. You can create a card, a tag, a scrapbook page, a treat bag or any other projects related to the papercrafting.
I just can’t stop playing with the amazing Lovely Blooms stamp set and this time I went to emboss resist and added color with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers since they are always a winning choice for bright and colorful projects!
I started working on Bristol paper and stamped a bunch of small flowers and a few leaf branches from Lovely Blooms set with a clear sticky ink. I heat embossed all the flowers with a white embossing powder and added color with Zig markers. Once everything was dry, I die-cut all the elements using the coordinating dies from Lovely Blooms die set.
Then I prepared a watercolor background using a traditional watercolor paper since it holds water much better than Bristol one and a traditional teal watercolor from Schmincke. I also tried to heat emboss the matching white sentiment directly on the background, but it was not bold enough to create a contrast so I decided not to give up and fix it putting a small tag on top where I simply stamped with a black ink “You’re Amazing” sentiment from NND Beautiful Plumage stamp set. A few black details were a perfect finish touch!
