NND comes with the most adorable designs every time and it’s soooooo hard to pick favorites, but this fabulous trio of kitties from Caroling Newton stamp set has immediately stolen my heart!!! And so I decided to color them as my sweet girl Lilly (on the left), the cutest red Newton – the inspiration for the NND name and logo (in the center) and my eldest boy Tommy (on the right). I can’t stop laughing every time I look at this card!!!

Creating this card, I really invested my time on coloring the cats from Caroling Newton that were die cut from Neenah Solar White paper with the coordinating die and stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink.

This is the complete list of all copic markers I used here: cat on the left W00-W1-W2-W3; cat in the center Y32-YR21-YR24-YR27; cat on the right E40-E41-E42-E43-E44; YG03-YG25-YG67; B91-B93-B97-B99; R35-RV29-R39; R11-R12; T0-T1-T3; BG10-BG13.

The scalloped frame on the background were die cut with Frames & Flags Die set, slightly inked with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and an ink blending tool. Next new amazing Music stencil was placed on top and inked with Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink. I lifted up and cleaned the stencil and then applied it once more on the background slightly shifted right up. Finally the music pattern was reapplied once again with a white embossing paste. Assembling the card, I simply stamped the matching sentiment from Caroling Newton stamp set and finally popped the background and kitties on a foam tape.

The Music background was chosen again for my second card and paired with the super cute mice from The Nutcracker Squeak. I started this project with a watercolor cardstock from Tim Holtz, inked the whole panel with Shaded Lilac Distress ink and applied the music pattern using Wilted Violet Distress ink. Next I added some water droplet and color splashes across for more fun and playful look.

The cute ballerinas were die cut with the coordinating dies, stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on Strathmore Bristol paper and colored with water markers. I used the matching sentiment from The Nutcracker Squeak stamp set and simply stamped it on the music panel before popping the critters on a foam tape.

Here’s the complete list of all the colors used here: TOMBOW n.N15, n.673, n.723, n.725; ZIG Clean Colour Real Brush n. 95 Mid Gray.

  3. Love the purple & pink – such a sweet card! And the kitties are all
colored purr-fectly. Love how you did the musical BG on that one.

  4. I really liked the dimension you gave with the stencil on the first card and how you used the stencil on the 2nd card with the water droplets. Both cards are so cute Tatiana.

  5. The backgrounds on your cards are so bright & beautiful! Love your fantastic coloring on the cute stamped mice & kitties!

  6. Gorgeous cards! I just love how you shifted the stencil for the first crad and used the paste – what a beautiful end result!!

  7. Wow! Even though you used the musical background for both of your cards I didn’t even realize it for awhile because they were sooooo different!!! Love your impeccable coloring on the first card and the peek a boo technique with the second. Nicely done 🙂

  8. Fabulous backgrounds on your cards! Love how you styled and colored the cats after your own. That’s a cute idea. Such a pretty card design for the ballerinas, and even though I’m not positive, I think pink and purple are the colors of sugarplums!

  9. Definitely the music notes makes a great background for these stamp sets and love the shaker card you made for the nutcracker squeak stamp set.

  10. love the music note background in purple with the distress look! so fun with these mice! and the kitties are just so sweet ❤
