Happy Halloween Card (ft. Purple Onion Designs)

New Pumpkin Charm stamp is already arranged in the most adorable Halloween scene and it’s quite large to fill the card front of an extended A2 size card (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″). To start, I stamped on Strathmore Bristol paper the cute image with VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof. Next I fussy cut the whole scene, using a pair of sharp small scissors and leaving a little white edge around. I colored the stamp with water based markers, making the blending with a small waterbrush from Pentel.

The Halloween background was inked on a piece of watercolor cardstock from Tim Holtz. I used Seedless Preserve and Wilted Violet Distress inks along with the blending brushes and then applied a Spiderweb pattern through the stencil with a white embossing paste. I let the embossing paste air dry and meanwhile prepared a light gray card base that measures 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ plus an additional rectangle with a partially die cut circle inside. I simply stamped the Halloween sentiment that comes with Pumpkin Charm stamp on the white part of the card front and finally assembled all the elements with a bit of dimension.

SugarPea Designs Fall 2020 Release: Day 4

On my stop of this hop I’m sharing a cute card featuring new products and some very simple watercoloring! To start, I die cut all the elements I needed for this card using the coordinating Let’s Stay Home SugarCut and Strathmore Bristol paper. I saved the negative parts of the dies and used them inside the MISTI tool to help me with the alignment while I was stamping the open images from Let’s Stay Home stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Finally I colored all the stamps with water based markers and set them aside to air dry.

In case you’re interested, I’m leaving all the exact colors used on this card: TOMBOW MARKERS N79, 076, 098, 126, 133, 158, 177, 192, 195, 491, 743, 606, 946, 947, 977, 985, 992.

An extended A2 size card base was made from Neenah Solar White paper and embellished with a tone on tone pattern applied through new Torn Strips Stencil with a white embossing paste. The sentiment was die cut three times from new just released Card Front Elements 3 SugarCut, stacked together and glues directly to the card front. Finally all the other colored elements were arranged with a bit of dimension.

I’ve popped in with cute and simple card featuring a few of my favorite stamps from Purple Onion Designs illustrated by super talented Stacey Yacula!

The project, I created today, is very easy to recreate. To start, I stamped on Strathmore Bristol paper with waterproof VersaFine Onyx Black ink the adorable Zoey (Bunny Reading), the Lantern String, and a piece of Grassy Shore stamp. I colored all the stamped images with water based Tombow markers, making the blending with the small waterbrush from Pentel. Next I fussy cut all the elements with my sharp small scissors, leaving a little white edge around and proceeded with the background.

I took a piece of inexpensive Bristol paper that I had in my stash since this type of paper has a smooth surface that makes the ink blending very easy and inked the sky through the edge of Newton’s Nook Designs Clouds stencil with Spun Sugar, Seedless Preserves and Wilted Violet Distress inks using the blending brushes. Then I flicked a few tiny droplets of a shimmer spray and some white splotches using a plain white gouache. An extended A2 size white card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) was created from Neenah Solar White paper along with the additional slightly smaller faux stitched rectangle with the die cut circle window in the center. Assembling all the elements together, I glued the sky directly to the card base and them popped the additional white rectangle on top using a foam tape for a bit of dimension. Then I arranged the colored elements and finished with the sentiment stamped from Everyday Blurbs set.

Newton’s Nook Designs’ August Release and Giveaway – Day 4 – Knight Owl and Pug-kin

Hello and welcome to the final day of the Newton’s Nook August release! Can’t believe how quick the time passed this week!!!

Cuteness overloads on the last day of the August release with two new small, but absolutely adorable Knight Owl stamp and Pug-kin stamp sets. Both of them come with the coordinating dies.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both new stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!Knight Owl turned our as a clean and simple card. I used my win win combo for the water based markers: Strathmore Bristol paper, VersaFine Onyx Black ink and a small waterbrush from Pentel. To start, I die cut the owl shape from the coordinating Knight Owl Die set, a branch and a few leaves from Toucan Party Die Set. I used, as always, the negative parts of the dies inside the MISTI tool to help me with the alignment while I was stamping the open images from Knight Owl and Toucan Party stamp sets. Finally I colored all the elements with water based markers.

As always, I’m leaving you all the exact colors used on this project: TOMBOW MARKERS N75, 025, 126, 133, 703, 947, 990 plus Zig Clean Colour Brush marker n. 61 Light Brown.

For the background I prepared a faux stitched circle using Circle Frames Die Set and inked it with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and the blending brush. I also added new just released Houndstooth stencil creating a tone on tone pattern applying the same Tumbled Glass Distress ink with more heavy hand. I stamped the encouraging sentiment from another new Heartfelt Wishes stamp set and started assembling all the elements together on an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″).

Working on my second project, I started in the same exact way with the same exact products I mentioned above. First I used the coordinating Pug-kin Die Set to achieve the whole image plus two additional pumpkins. Next I stamped the open images from Pug-kin stamp set and colored them with Tombow markers.

This is the complete list of colors used by me on this card: TOMBOW MARKERS N79, 025, 055, 133, 177, 905, 912, 925, 933, 946, 947, 969, 990, 992, 993.

The background was die cut from Frames and Flags Die Set; inked with Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Faded Jeans Distress inks and the blending brushes; and then embellished through amazing new Spiderweb Stencil applied with a white embossing paste. I popped the Distress background on an extended A2 size white card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) with a bit of dimension, arranged the pumpkins and finished with a few fish-tailed banners die cut from Banner Trio Die Set.

Purple Onion Designs New Under The Sea & It’s a Pirate’s Life Collections By Shari Bresciani

Hello and welcome!!!

It’s time for new stunning goodies from Purple Onion Designs! I’m so excited to introduce you two new fantastic Under The Sea and It’s a Pirate’s Life Collections of rubber stamps both illustrated by super talented Shari Bresciani!

My first card turned out very cheerful and bright! I mixed and matched lots of different stamps from new Under The Sea Collection. I worked on Strathmore Bristol paper with VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof. I stamped, heat set and fussy cut with my sharp small scissors all the elements I needed for the scene, leaving a little white edge around.

I colored all the stamps with Tombow markers and a small waterbrush from Pentel. The “sea water” rectangle was simply watercolored on a piece of an inexpensive watercolor paper that I have on hands. I use regular watercolors for this element and purposely kept the watercoloring very splotchy and uneven for a fun effect. The sentiment from Sea-timents Set was heat embossed on a narrow strip of a black cardstock. Finally I could arrange all the elements on a faux dotted panel die cut from SugarPea Designs Card Front Element Builder II set along with a small slightly offset rectangle window. A few clear droplets gave a finish touch to this project.
