Hello everyone and happy Monday!
A new Newton’s Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #49 starts today and I just couldn’t not play along! This is my inspiration projects for you!
The current challenge is a sketch one! I love sketch challenges since it gives you a great idea about the card layout, but leaves you the opportunity to add any contest you like! And since I’ve got my hands on the new just released Newton Rides West stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs, of course, I needed to have more play time with the cute kitty stamps!
I’m leaving you below a sketch graphic created for this challenge by Newton’s Nook Design’s and hope it will inspire you to play along! Make a project based on this sketch and paired with at least one Newton’s Nook Designs brand stamp or die and upload it here for a chance to win a store credit at Newton’s Nook Designs online shop. You can create a card, a tag, a scrapbook page, a treat bag or any other projects related to the papercrafting.
Creating this card, I started working first on the watercolor background! I used a few green shades of Distress inks and added a basic color to the watercolor cardstock. Once it was heat set, I repeatedly made wet on wet stamping on top with the same Distress inks using cactus image from Newton Rides West set creating my own pattern. It’s little bit messy, but very fun technique and I just like the result!!!
My second layer is made out of vellum since I didn’t want to hide the beautiful watercolor background. I glued on top a few arrows die-cut with Points & Plumes die set out of the watercolor cardstock that was previously colored with Distress inks as well.
My third and final layer is a Polaroid frame where I put inside the “wanted” mischief in the adorable cowboy hat. The second part of the sentiment “for celebrating another birthday!” was stamped inside the card base!

Wow! This is so awesome! I love the way you did the layers. The watercolored cacti in the background are so fun and the arrows really give a fun western feeling too! Thank you for the Inky Paws challenge inspiration!
