Hello everyone and happy Monday!
A new Newton’s Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #48 starts today and I just couldn’t not play along! This is my inspiration projects for you!
The current challenge is “Use Stripes”! I’m leaving you below a beautiful inspiration graphic created for this challenge by Newton’s Nook Design’s and hope it will inspire you to play along! Just make a project including some stripes on it and paired with at least one Newton’s Nook Designs brand stamp or die and upload it here for a chance to win a store credit at Newton’s Nook Designs online shop. You can create a card, a tag, a scrapbook page, a treat bag or any other projects related to the papercrafting.
My today’s choice was Newton Dreams of Italy stamp set. I just can’t stop using this FANTASTIC set since it reminds me so much the place where I live and more this time the cute mischief has his big adventure right in Rome!
I played around the stripe theme in a few different ways starting by creating a striped heart background that looks exactly like the Italian flag! I used Darling Hearts die set making a mask out of a masking paper and ink blended Distress inks through the negative part of the mask applied to the background piece. Once removed, I replaced it with the positive part of the die-cut and added a very small amount of gray ink around the white part of the heart to give it a right shape and finished with some water droplets creating a splotchy look for more interest.
The cute kitty from Newton Dreams of Italy stamp set and Colosseum were stamped on a Bristol paper, colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and die-cut with the coordinating dies. The sentiment was heat embossed on a STRIPE of a black cardstock with a white embossing powder. And finally assembling all the element together, I added a striped pattern paper I had in my stash.
