The last day of the release is full of the super adorable kitties in two new small stamp sets: Newton’s Valentine and Newton’s Crafty Cardio. Both of them come with the coordinating dies.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both Newton’s Valentine and Newton’s Crafty Cardio stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

My first card features such adorable Newton’s Valentine stamp and die sets. To start, I die cut a big image along with a few small hearts using the coordinating Newton’s Valentine Die Set. I worked on Strathmore Bristol paper and used waterproof VersaFine Onyx Black ink for stamping the open stamps from Newton’s Valentine stamp set. Next I made my coloring with water based markers.

As always, I’m leaving here all the exact colors used on this project: TOMBOW MARKERS N79; 055, 515, 565, 703, 743, 755, 969; 977; 992.

Creating the background, I reached once again to Bokeh Hearts Stencil set. I loooove the bokeh effect it gives and the heart pattern makes it perfect for love cards. I masked a square on an A2 size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) white card base  and applied the hearts from the layer #1 from Bokeh Hearts Stencil set. Next I switched to the layer #2 and finished by adding more ink all across the square window. I used Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress inks toward the bottom part of the inked area and Mermaid Lagoon plus Blueprint Sketch towards the top overlapping them a little bit for a smooth look. The sentiment from the same Newton’s Valentine set was simply stamped underneath the inked square. Finally the kitty and the hearts were positioned with a bit of dimension.

Next comes Newton’s Crafty Cardio stamp and die sets. I started again with the coordinating dies to prepare all the die cut shapes. This time I switched to Neenah Solar White paper and Black Hybrid ink from MFT for stamping the open images from Newton’s Crafty Cardio stamp set. I colored all the elements with copic markers.

And this is the complete list of all the makers used on this card: COPIC cat E40-E41-E42-E44-E49 plus R000-R12; Y0000-Y13-Y18; R20-R22-R24-R27-R29-R39; BG10-BG11-BG23; YG01-YG23-YG17; T1-T3; E30-E31-E33; YR02-YR04; B21-B24; RV02; V04.

Working on the background, I created my own patterned paper repeatedly stamping small images from Newton’s Crafty Cardio set. Next I die cut a circle window and split in two parts the sentiment by cutting the word “CRAFTING” apart. This word, designed by NND slightly curved, embraced perfectly the circle shape. The second part of the sentiment was heat embossed on a piece of a red cardstock. I colored it with red copic markers that I used on the kitty before for a perfect match and shaped it into a fish-tale banner with my scissors. Finally I could assemble all the elements together with a bit of dimension.
