Newton’s Nook Designs’ January Reveal and Giveaway – Day 2

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Newton’s Nook January release!

My inspirational project turned out as a card with a limited color combo. I used red/ pink plus gray shades today. To start, I chose again Strathmore Bristol paper to die cut all the necessary elements from Love Quarry Die Set and then stamp the coordinating images from Love Quarry stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I colored everything with water based markers and let air dry.

As always, I’m leaving here all the exact markers used on this project: TOMBOW N25, N79, N95, 847, 856, 905.

The background was inked through the new just released yesterday Bokeh Hearts Stencil set. I worked on Watercolor Cardstock from Tim Holtz and applied Candied Apple Distress ink with a very light hand through the layer #1. Next I applied layer #2 and inked the overlapping hearts with the same Candied Apple Distress ink adding more color. Finally I inked the whole background at an angle creating the ombre effect plus adding some water droplets and colorful splashes. Assembling all the elements together on an A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) white card base, I added a stitched heart from Darling Hearts Die Set along with a die cut “love” word that splitter the heat embossed sentiment in two parts. Finally I popped all the elements on a foam tape and finished with a few clear sequins.

Love these stamps. These little trucks are adorable. I would never put a heart background with trucks but it works.

I really love the gray truck on this! It works so perfectly with the reds to make a beautiful love themed card. The added heart and die cut Love really add to it too!
