Newton’s Nook Designs May Release and Giveaway – Day 1 – Blooming Botanicals

NND Design Team is kicking off this week with a super AMAZING big flower stamp set called Blooming Botanicals. You know that I personally a great fan of big stamps! They are so fun and easy to use! No masking and arranging are required! Just stamp and enjoy coloring!!! Blooming Botanicals don’t have the coordinating dies, but it can be paired with new fantastic Framework Die set.

My today’s card is a watercolor one, created with an emboss resist technique. I started with Strathmore Bristol paper since my intention was to use Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers for coloring. I prepped my cardstock with an anti-static powder, stamped the big image from Blooming Botanicals set using VersaMark ink and heat embossed with a white embossing powder.

Then I simply added bright and cheerful colors to the stamp. Actually I brought this stamp for coloring on the go and it was so easy to work with since the melted embossing powder creates raised lines on the paper and makes the colors stay inside the stamp lines without spreading all over. I placed the colored flowers on a light gray card base and decided to “frame” them with Framework Die set used for the outside postage stamp edge while the inside portion was die cut with Frames & Flags die set along with a fish-tail banner were I heat embossed the sentiment from the same Blooming Botanicals set with the same white embossing powder.
