The last day of the release has reserved us more super cute critters from the NND “Woodland” series! The new stamp set is called Woodland Picnic and you can get the coordinating dies, as well.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving Woodland Picnic stamp set out away to a lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

I started with my favorite sentiment from Woodland Picnic stamp set and created a sweet picnic scene. First, I die cut some critters from Strathmore Bristol paper with the coordinating Woodland Picnic Die Set. I used as always the negative part of the dies for a perfect alignment while I was stamping the critters with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Next I watercolored all the elements with Tombow markers.

The card base was inked with a very light blue ink to form a sky background. I also added a yellow sun through Sunscape stencil and a few layers of grass, using Land Border Die Set. The sentiment was simply stamped on the card base and finally all the other elements were ready to be popped on a foam tape for a bit of dimension.

For my second card I created a few designed elements that were going perfectly together with picnic theme.

To start, I used exactly the same materials and techniques to die cut, stamp and color the deer and the squirrel from Woodland Picnic stamp set.

And here’s the complete list of all the markers used on both cards: TOMBOW N15, N79, 025, 055, 090, 126, 133, 443, 723, 761, 856, 885, 899, 933, 946, 947, 977, 993.

The kraft card base was embellished by tone on tone stamping. I used a few small ants from Woodland Picnic stamp set and Hero Art Wet Cement Dye ink for that. The sentiment was heat embossed on a piece of a green cardstock that was shaped into the grass with Land Border Die Set. Finally I added two squares die cut from Frames Squared Die Set: one from a plain vellum while the other was transformed into a picnic cloth. I used Plaid Stencil Set for that along with Abandoned Coral Distress ink. I played only with layer #1 from Plaid Stencil Set and shifted it a few times to make the plaid stripes more dense. Finally I arranged all the elements on the card base and added a cute little button on top.

  1. Both cards are incredible! I love the scene with all the friends in the grass and the way you created a picnic blanket background using the stencil is so cool! Great ideas and beautiful cards too!

  2. Love the layering of the grass in the first card.
The pink plaid is great for the second card’s
    background. Both are wonderful cards.

  3. Really pretty cards! Especially love your 2nd Card! The ants on the background & your use of the vellum square is so unique! Also think your coloring is really gorgeous!

  4. Your cards are always so pretty. I love how you used part of the stencil to create the sun – so creative! Your Tombow coloring is perfection. Thanks for sharing your inspiration this week!
