Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Newton’s Nook Designs March release! Can’t wait to share with you tons of fabulous and super fun products that NND is revealing this month!

We’re kicking off this week with two new absolutely adorable birthday stamp sets that will satisfy both cat and dog people. I know that all of you are great fans of cute critters and so let me introduce you Newton’s Birthday Trio and Paw-some Birthday stamp sets. Both of them come with the coordinating dies. Plus NND has designed an amazing Balloons Stencil to go on your birthday cards because there would be no perfect birthday without the balloons! Right?! LOL!!!

My first card features Birthday Trio stamp and die sets! To start, I die cut the fun kitties from Strathmore Bristol paper, stamped with a waterproof black ink and colored with watercolor markers.
Here’re all the exact colors of TOMBOW markers I used on this project: n.N79, n.055, n.126, n.133, n.452, n.620, n.636, n.676, n.703, n.725, n.873, n.899, n.946, n.947, n.977, n.991.
For the background I inked a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock with Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress inks. Next I trimmed an A2 size rectangle from a light gray cardstock and partially die cut a circle window inside. I put the inked piece underneath the die cut window and applied new Balloons Stencil on top, transferring the pattern with a white embossing paste directly on both layers. Once the embossing paste was dry, I could assemble all the elements with a bit of dimension.
Working on Paw-some Birthday stamp and die sets, I switched to copic markers, Neenah Solar White paper and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Once again I first made the die cutting using the coordinating Paw-some Birthday Die Set and then stamped the coordinating images from Paw-some Birthday stamp set and colored everything with copic markers.

For the background I used the same Balloons Stencil, but achieved different look by inking the card base made from Neenah Solar White paper with a very light hand and next coming with stronger colors on top through Balloons Stencil. This time my choice was on Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks.
