Newton’s Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #41

Hello everyone and happy Monday!

A new Newton’s Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #41 starts today and I just couldn’t not play along! This is my inspiration projects for you!

The current challenge is a color one and it’s all about soft pastel spring yummy colors. Want to join? Just use Mint, Light Pink, Yellow and White on you projects along with some NND products and upload them here for a chance to win a store credit at Newton’s Nook Designs online shop.

I’m recently obsessed with Darling Hearts Die set from NND and continue using it over and over again. This time I went with something really creative and transform the largest heart die from this set into a top part of a hot air balloon.

Once die-cut 6 times from a thing copic friendly paper the hearts were colored with copic markers and then decorated with a flower stamp from NND Bunny Hop stamp set that was heat embossed with a white embossing powder. If you use copic markers, be sure to add the color first and then heat emboss your stamps. Don’t use your copic markers on top of the embossing powder because you can damage them!!! Of course, if you have a matching paper in your stash, you can skip this step!

I made the score marks in the middle of the die-cut hearts before folding them in half and glued together alternating the colors to form the 3D top part of the hot air balloon. Then I partially stamped the bottom part of the adorable kitty image from NND Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set on another piece of copic friendly paper, masked it and blended a few soft mint clouds around. Finally I removed the mask and colored the kitty itself with copics. A simply stamped sentiment and a few sequins finished the card.
