I decided to play with a mail theme on my card and colored with copic markers the cute kitty and the mailbox in red and blue tones adding some more neutral grays as well.

Then I created my own “mail style” pattern paper to match the colored stamp since I didn’t have anything suitable in my stash. I helped myself with a diagonal line on a cutting mat I always work on. I took a narrow strip of a copic friendly card stock and marked with a pencil diagonal lines shifting the paper half of an inch every time. Then I simply added colors with the same copic markers I used on the mail box.

I wanted to keep this card very clean and simple since I liked how it turned out, so I didn’t add any other embellishment except of a shimmer pen plus a coat of Glossy Accents on top to simulate the metallic shine on the mailbox.

And here’s how you can win the “Newton’s Happy Mail” Stamp Set.

  2. First of all, crazy cat ladies unite! I am right there with you 😂😂. I love the card and was even more impressed when I read your description and realized you created that border, it wasn’t patterned paper! Such a great idea, and it looks so good I thought it WAS patterned paper! I like that you stuck to the red, white and blue theme, it really does say mail/airmail and goes so well with this stamp set.
