Sending You A Birthday Pug #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Pug Hugs Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

All dog people and critter fans this set is right for you. It’s called  Pug Hugs and has an adorable super cute puppy with some accessories and the coordinating dies as well. NND is giving this stamp set away to one lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

I made a birthday card because it’s always handy to have a few in the stash. And although I used bright colors, it doesn’t look feminine at all. So this stamp set can definitely be used for masculine cards (which I always struggle with) and for simple “sending hugs” ones.

I started with stamping all the images from Pug Hugs set on Bristol paper and coloring them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Then I made a watercolor background on a piece of watercolor paper using sky blue color and adding some splotches as a finish touch.

To assemble everything I created a faux shaker window and adhered the birthday accessories inside right on top of the watercolor piece. I placed the cute pug on a fishtail sentiment banner made from Bristol paper so that I can add a little bit of color on it with the same lilac Zig marker I used previously. As always, finished with inevitable sequins, shimmer pen and Glossy Accents just for something extra.

  1. I really love your card design and details! Great layers and fabulous colour choice to contrast with the pug. Love your ombré banner!

  2. your card is so adorable, and that stamp is too cute. I have friends with pugs, and they would die if I sent them a cards with pugs on it.
    thanks for sharing

  3. Just gorgeous! I love the colors you used and the addition of color to the pennant. Such a great way to add interest to your sentiment.

  4. Oh my gosh, so pugalicious. I love the background and the way that you combined the hats, bow ties, and hearts in the background too. You did a great job on the coloring, love it.

  5. Love that you created a cad that can be used for anyone, as you said it isn’t too feminine! I also love how in your faux shaker you used some of the cute elements from the stamp set instead of actually putting them on the dog! Very unique! Gorgeous card.
