Newton’s Nook Designs’ February Release and Giveaway – Day 3 – Newton’s Rain Boots

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Newton’s Nook February release! Thanks so much for joining me today!!!

I’m so excited and happy to introduce you today the cutest Newton’s Rain Boots stamp set! A purr-fect mix between my ever favorites: kitty, spring rain boots and tulips! In case you’re interested, there’s the coordinating Newton’s Rain Boots Die Set too.

Since we are taking about rain boots, I believed that watercolor would match this stamp set in a perfect way. So I started with Strathmore Bristol paper and VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I made the die cutting first using Newton’s Rain Boots Die Set and them stamped the coordinating images from Newton’s Rain Boots stamp set. As always I help myself with the negative parts of the dies for a perfect alignment while I was making the stamping in my MISTI tool. Next I proceeds with coloring using my water based markers and a small water brush from Pentel.

As always, I’m leaving you all the exact markers used on this project: TOMBOW 055, 133, 173, 249, 636, 665, 725, 873, 933, 946, 977.

Creating the background scene I added a tone on tone Raindrops to the sky portion through new just released on Monday stencil. The grass was inked through Hills & Grass border stencil. I used respectively Peacock Feather Distress Oxide and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks with the small blending brushes. The sentiment was simply stamped on the background with the same VersaFine Onyx Black ink I used before. Assembling the card, I popped all the elements on foam tape for a fun dimensional look and finished with a few crystal sparkling sequins.
