Newton’s Nook Designs & Therm O Web Inspiration Week

This week Newton’s Nook Designs and Therm O Web are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to add fun foils and more to your cards using Therm O Web products with Newton’s Nook Designs stamps! There are prizes too! I played a lot with new to me fabulous products from Therm O Web and mixed them with adorable Newton’s Nook Designs stamps, stencils and dies. The result is two cute cards, I’m sharing today!

Today’s post is going to be a review on my favorite products from both companies! Curios to know more? So Let’s start with Deco Foil Transfer Gel from Therm O Web! I’m totally in love with this product. It spreads like butter and makes adhere the foil perfectly to your project. The best way to use it is to pair with stencils of course and Starfield Stencil from NND seems to be made for this aim. I used new Sparkling Silver design from Gina K. that has a tiny little stars and a holographic feel, creating the starry background for this card.

All that beautiful sparkle screamed to me for the magical unicorns. And so I added one from Believe In Unicorns stamp set colored with Zig markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. Finishing the card, I used Frames & Flags die set for the fish-tale banners and added a few matching starts from Cosmic Newton stamp set.

My second card features the amazing new Clear Toner Sheets (Distressed Lines) by Therm O Web. You can easily foil them with a heat laminator for really gorgeous results. My choice was on a transfer sheet in Aqua color for this shaker card. Here’s a little tip for you: let your laminator heat for at least 20 minutes before doing the foiling and then prepare the sandwich to go through made from a sheet of cardstock to increase the pressure and a parchment paper bent over in half where you put first a clear toner sheet facing the toner side up and then the foil sheet with a shiny surface up. As a parchment paper you can use both a printer paper and a baking paper you probably have in your kitchen.

Once finished with foiling, I made a shaker base using the negative part of the rectangle frame from Frames & Flags die set. Heat embossed and water colored beautiful flowers from Lovely Blooms set and finally added a personalized sentiment from Simply Relative stamp set.

Last but not least comes Purple Tape from Therm O Web. It’s really handy to have it in the craft stash. I used it to hold in place both stencils and dies creating these card. It’s thing and sticky enough to secure your projects, but does not tear the paper while you’re removing it.
