Watercolor Hydrangea Card (ft. Simon Says Stamp)

sss_hydrangea_2017-1

Happy Friday!

I’ve just popped in to share a floral watercolor card I made using Hydrangea Blooms stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

sss_hydrangea_2017-3Recently I set up my first watercolor palette from some professional watercolors and finally got some time to play with it. I’ll talk about this palette later once I’ll test it more.

So this card is one of my first attempts with professional watercolors. It turned out very clean and simple. I used a good quality cold pressed watercolor paper and heat embossed the hydrangea image with a white embossing powder. Then I masked the flower and stamped the leaves using a green dye ink this time since the leaf stamps are not outline ones. I’d probably have had to use distress inks for this step since they reactivate better with water, but like I said before I’m still experimenting.

sss_hydrangea_2017-2Once finished with watercoloring, I added a simple hello die-cut sentiment that was watercolored with the same purple shades as the hydrangea bloom and some little embellishments.

That’s all for today! Hope you like this card and thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me sweet comments! I really appreciate your support!

Have a fantastic week-end!

Welcome Baby – Watercolor Card Series

welcome-baby-2016-1

Happy Monday!

Starting a new week with a “new” theme card! Made this clean and simple one for a little baby boy!

welcome-baby-2016-3

I started with stamping a few cute images from Simon Say Stamp’s Tiny Ray of Sunshine stamp set (I’m afraid it’s not available any more, but check through your stash and I’m sure that you’ll find something suitable) on a watercolor paper using a waterproof ink since I was going to make some watercoloring. I added a coat of a light blue tone on the stamped images and then started working on my background. I used the same blue shade on it and dropped only a small amount of more dark blues for more interest and a tiny bit of yellow just to tie all the elements together.

welcome-baby-2016-2The sentiment was partially stamped with the same black ink I used on other stamps and partially die-cut from the same paper I used for the entire project. This little tip makes a big difference in terms of final result.

Finally arranged all the elements, popped some of them on a foam tape, added natural twine and a few sequins.

That’s all for today! Hope to catch you up very soon with a new post! As always thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me sweet comments! I really appreciate your support!

Holiday Card Series 2016 – Peace Joy & Love

sss-peace-love-joy-2016-2

Hello guys!

It seems like furry friends are ready for Christmas so let’s get crafty and make more cards for the Holiday Season! And here’s what I came up with today for my Holiday Card Series 2016.

sss-peace-love-joy-2016-1Nothing too fancy this time, just a little bit of copic coloring on the cute critters from Simon Says Stamp’s Furry Christmas Friends stamp set that was combined with Mama Elephant’s Polaroid Fun dies. Don’t you think that these stamps and dies were made to go together! I personally adore the versatile products!!!

sss-peace-love-joy-2016-3

As well as I adore cute and fun critters because they can help you give a personalized touch to the card so easily. Just make them look like the recipient’s ones and I assure you that both success and smile are guaranteed. And it doesn’t matter to be super precise and realistic in your coloring.

If you need more inspiration, please, check also Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge blog as this card is also my entry to their current challenge.

That’s all for today! As always thanks so much for stopping by! I really appreciate your love and support!

Hello Fall – Autumn & Halloween Card Series

hello-fall-2016-1

Happy Friday to everyone!

Today I’m sharing another autumn feeling watercolor card. The adorable bear is from the last Stamptember collaboration between Simon Says Stamp and Newton’s Nook Designs. Unfortunately this stamp set is not available any more, but I like it so much that I just couldn’t let it die in my stash.

I broke down once more my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors, but after the initial layer of watercoloring, I added some details and shading with color pencils. The fish-tail banner was watercolored too so that it could match perfectly the red I used on some autumn leaves.

As always I added some little extra accents to embellish my card: sequins, white gel pen details, color water splotches, Stickles Star Dust Glitter Glue.

That’s pretty much all for today! Hope this card will inspire you! And as always thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me sweet comments! I really appreciate your support!

Hello Fall – Autumn & Halloween Card Series

sss-hello-fall-2016-1

Hello guys!

I’ve just popped in for a super quick post today. I was in the mood to play with my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors and totally inspired by the amazing gorgeous colors the nature brings us every autumn, made this colorful card.

sss-hello-fall-2016-3

It’s quite simple and I used only “Small Hello” and “Leaf Wreath” dies both from Simon Says Stamp (can’t believe that I really used no stamps this time!). As watercolor paper I chose Canson Montval. I find that it goes very well with the Mijello watercolors. The die-cut sentiment was heat embossed with WOW Glitter Metallic Gold embossing powder to bring a little bit of sparkle and shine. Finally a few golden sequins were added as well.
