Easy Interactive Spinner Card With Coordinating Dies (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

For Your Special Day #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Holding Happiness stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtons

Happy Thursday!

I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a fun and cute interactive spinner card!

For Your Special Day #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Holding Happiness stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtons

Well, today I came up with the idea how to stretch the coordinating dies and get more use out of them. I played with the super adorable Holding Happiness stamp set from NND March release and the coordinating Holding Happiness Die Set of course. Since the lady with a giant birthday cake is almost symmetrical, I thought that it would be super easy to make an interactive birthday card. In fact, I didn’t have to do the mirror stamping in this case, but only die-cut and stamped twice the same image.

Once finished coloring both stamps with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers, I started working on the background and prepared an A2 size card base plus another additional panel to go on top. Next I made a simple non distracting pattern, blending Distress Oxide inks in Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick colors trough Bubbly stencil. I die-cut a circle on both layers and glued together two colored images and with a tiny twine between the layers. Finally I adhered the patterned panel to the card base and heat embossed the sentiment from the same Holding Happiness stamp set I used before.

That’s all for today! Hope you like this cute card! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Tatiana

Feline Festive! #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Ornamental Newton stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

And here’s my cute Christmas in July project for you! It’s never too early to start making Christmas cards! Right?! LOL!!! I picked up Ornamental Newton stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs that was dyeing in my stash from last Christmas and never had a chance to be kissed by ink.

Feline Festive! #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Ornamental Newton stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I think that this adorable image is so purr-rect for a suspended spinner card and so I made a mirror stamping of the adorable mischief, fussy cut both stamps and made a super easy watercoloring with a regular watercolors. Before I moved ahead creating the spinner element, I painted all the edges with a black marker to hide any imperfection from cutting. I used a sticker maker from Xyron to glue the stamps images together since it helped me apply evenly the adhesive all over the surfaces without having the excess.

Then I switched to the Teresa Collins Mega Runner by Xyron to put all the card together!

Finally I added a few pine branches to emulate Christmas tree die-cut from NND Pines & Holly die set and finished with a simple stamped sentiment from the same Ornamental Newton stamp set.

Easy Suspended Spinner Card – Stretch Your Digital Stamps Card Series

Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Surfing Santa digi stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

Hello and welcome!

I’m so happy to bring you my daily post at Craftin Desert Divas blog! Today I’m sharing two cute Christmas in July projects featuring super adorable Surfing Santa and Merry & Bright Digital Stamps. The inspiration came from the amazing mood board that Craftin Desert Divas posted for their July Monthly Social Media Challenge. Look at those wonderful, cheerful and bright colors!

Today I’m going to illustrate the idea how you can get more out of your digital stamps and create very easily suspended spinner cards! The interactive cards are so fun to create and receive, but sometimes they can become a little bit tricky to make without proper supplies! For suspended spinner cards you have to do a mirror stamping if you work with regular clear stamps. That means you have to get a stamping tool or at least a stamp positioner, a mirror stamp block and a specific ink! Well, with digital stamps even the beginner carmakers can create a mirror image in no time at all and without any specific stuff!

Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Merry&Bright digi stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

First of all upload and open the “png” digital file of the desirable image you want to work with. CDD has tons of adorable digital stamps in their online shop and they all come with the png file I’m talking about! Then adjust the size of the stamp so that it suits your card base! Copy and paste the same image once more and then simply flipped it horizontally! Easy peasy! And there’s no need to have any specific illustrator program for that! If you are on Mac you can do it in “Pages” and “Word” works fine for Microsoft users!

Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Surfing Santa digi stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

I made a few attempts putting this type of card together and here’s the easiest way to do that! Once printed, fussy cut your stamps with scissors right on the edge and proceed with coloring. I used copic markers this time and as alway leaving you all the exact marker numbers I used at the bottom of this post!

Then use any black marker you have on hand and paint the trimmed edges to hide any imperfection from fussy cutting. Adhere both images from the back side sandwiching a tiny string inside!

Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays #handmadecard by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Surfing Santa digi stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas #craftindeserdivas

Prepare you card base and another additional rectangle, aline them together and die-cut a circle. I used CDD Inside Scalloped Circle and Stitched In Circle Die set here! Assembling the card, I placed the suspended spinner element in the center of the circle, used a strong adhesive to glue both edges of the string to the card base and added on top the additional panel aligning the circle parts to hide the strings!

All you need to do is to create a project inspired by the current mood board and using at least one CDD brand product! Then share it with #CDDMONTHLY in the Craftin Desert Divas Facebook Gallery! Reach For The Stars #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Cosmic Newton stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Today I’m SUPER EXCITED about new Newton stamps that come with cute Cosmic Newton set!!! After his western adventures, the adorable kitty decided to visit other planets and galaxies!!! Isn’t he super cute in his space coveralls?! And, of course, you can get the coordinating dies with Cosmic Newton Die set.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving a $20 store credit to Newton’s Nook Designs to one lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

This stamp set just screams for me to be used with some interactive elements! You can make the cute mischief slide and spin on your fun projects! And the galaxy background is, of course, another must for me on the space theme cards! And no need to tell you how well it coordinates with new Starfield Stencil!!!

Reach For The Stars #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Cosmic Newton stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

I stretched my watercolors this time and worked on a watercolor paper! I stamped the kitty with a waterproof ink, die-cut with the coordinating Cosmic Newton Die and made a little bit splotchy non perfect watercoloring! Then I proceeded with the galaxy background: first I made a colorful undertone painting on some areas with bright yellow, orange, red and pink colors; I heat set this first layer and brought on top more dark blue, violet and black colors and finally flicked some white gouache on top creating tiny stars! Once the background was dry, I created an interactive element using a specific die, but you can easily make the similar effect with two circle nesting dies! Before assembling the card, I applied throung Starfield Stencil a white embossing paste to bring more stars to my backgroung and heat embossed the sentiment from the same Cosmic Newton stamp set!

The spinner mechanism is very easy to assemble too: punch or die-cut two circles slightly larger than the spinner channel. Put one circle directly on the card base and adhere another on top with a foam tape, but above the background panel this time. Then use the top circle as a base for you interactive element! Just be sure to use a glue that dries non sticky for easy spinning!

Holiday Card Series 2016 – Interactive Spinner Card

peaceful-xmas-2016-1

Hello everyone!

Thanks for joining me today on my blog. I’m sharing a super fun and cute card with you! Hope it will bring a smile on your faces! (You can see this card in action here!)

I played with a few products and came out with a so holiday reindeer games style interactive card. I used for the first time the Circle Spinner Channel from My Favorite Things along with their Spin And Slide Discs to create an interactive part. Then I added the cute Santa’s helpers from Mama Elephant’s stamp set that, in my opinion, go together perfectly and  finished with a holiday sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

peaceful-xmas-2016-2

As for the coloring medias, the reindeers were colored with copic markers (as always, I will leave all the exact colors below) and the background was done blending some distress inks in blue tones. And just because I can’t resist, I added some splotches as well as a small red heart in the end.

If you need more inspiration, please, check also Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge blog as this card is also my entry to their current challenge.

That’s all for today! Would you be so kind to share if you like interactive cards and if you make them? Or do you prefer a more traditional style? Can’t wait to know your opinion!

As always thanks so much for stopping by! I really appreciate your love and support!

Tatiana
