For my stop on this hop I created a sweet and colorful birthday card featuring my ever favorite kitty Newton! He is an adorable sweet orange tabby cat and the inspiration for NND name and logo. Today I used a non traditional for a birthday theme Newton’s Christmas Cuddles stamp set that has a few super adorable and versatile images so it was super easy to interpret it in a different way by simply changing the color palette!
I obviously chose NND logo colors and colored the sweet kitty as Newton to give a personal touch to the card! I used my win win combo which consists of Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers, Strathmore Bristol paper and a small water brush from Pentel. For the layout I used Frames & Flags die set and added a heat embossed sentiment from Newton’s Birthday Bash set. Finally a kitty paw pattern was added to the background through Pawprint stencil with Distress Oxide ink in Spiced Marmalade color and an ink blending tool!

I’m so excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog today and give you a fun idea on how you can stretch your holiday stamps and dies! Curious?
This year I decided to make a stamp focus card series and invite you to get another look on the crafty products you already have in your stash or bring more ideas on the same stamp or die set so that you can decide if you really want to get it! Today I would like to reuse holiday stuff and reinterpret it in a different way! And so I’m starting with a super adorable Newton’s Christmas Cuddles set from NND. This set is meant to be a holiday one, but the cute images are so versatile that you can easily cover many other occasions. I played with the lovely couple of kitties and transformed them into a love or Valentine’s Day card.
The kitties were stamped on a watercolor paper with a black waterproof ink, colored with regular watercolors and finally fussy cut right against the stamp lines. Then I built a shaker element reusing a Snow Globe Shaker Die Set and filling it with a tiny die-cut hearts from Darling Hearts Die Set, sparkling sequins and beads because I loved the idea of falling hearts on the love card. And since I already had Darling Hearts Die Set on my desk, I die-cut the work “love” from a bright pink cardstock and used it as the sentiment.
That’s all for today! Hope you like this sweet card! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day! And, please, let me know if you’re interested to see more posts from my Stamp Focus Card Series!!!

You know I can’t resist to the cute cat stamps and this ADORABLE couple of kitties happens to be my favorite from Newton’s Nook Christmas Release. I just can’t stop playing with them and this time I came out with a watercolor project (here
you can find my copic colored version).
To put together this card I worked separately on the cats image and the background. I even chose different watercolor papers: for the kitties I used Arches Hot Press Watercolor Paper
(I can’t recommend it enough for no-line coloring) and for the background – a more textured Strathmore Watercolor Paper
. But both elements were done with distress inks.
On the background I proceeded in different layers applying them from lightest to darkest and letting dry every single layer before applying the next one. As the result I achieved a typical watercolor look with some lines and bleaches. I wished to give the impression that the light comes from the Moon so I left a light halo around.
Of course, the kitties were colored like my one (he is the Sacred Cat of Burma). I used Antique Linen
distress ink for outline stamping and made a little bit more shading then usual since it’s a night scene. I really like how they turned out.
After adhering kitties on the foam tape, I added a few final touches with white gel pen and Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen. Hope you can see all the shine on the up-close look.

Today is my last post for Newton’s Nook Designs as the November Guest Designer. It was a crazy busy month, but at the same time I enjoyed so much to be part of the Design Team! I’d like to thank again Jennifer Jackson from NND for having me on their blog!
Ok, now let’s talk about two cards I’m sharing with you in this post. You know that I LOVE coloring with any medium. Preparing my featured post I made a few samples… and then I just couldn’t choose only one to share with you, but since both of my cards are about Christmas and I know that someone prefers copics and someone watercoloring, let me please all of you and share both cards today.
The first card features NND Winston’s Home for Christmas stamp set and watercoloring with distress inks. After stamping a cute bear image with a waterproof ink on the watercolor paper, I applied a liquid masking fluid and worked on the background first. Then I gently peeled off the mask and finished coloring Winston driving home for Christmas image. The sentiment was heat embossed on a vellum banner and a few small hearts covered with Ranger Liquid Pearls in White Opal color were added as a finish touch.
On the second card I made no-line copic coloring and ink blending for the background. I played with adorable sweet couple of kitties from NND Newton’s Christmas Cuddles stamp set. Aren’t they darn cute? At the end of the post I will leave you the exact colors I used on both cards. For the background I started with Victorian Velvet distress ink, then I added Memento Grape Jelly and Chipped Sapphire on the top part. To tie all the elements together I colored the kitties’ scarfs and hat in pink and blue-violet tones.
I can’t wait to hear which card you prefer? Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!
