Holiday Card Series 2019 – Happy New Year Card (ft. Newton’s Nook Designs)

Happy New Year #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton Celebrates stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!

I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a sweet and cute Happy New Year card!

I believe this is my last post for the Newton’s Nook this year and so New Year theme seemed to be perfect for this project. I flipped through my stash and found two wonderful Newton Celebrates and Newton’s New Year stamp sets that are so much fun to mix and match!

Happy New Year #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Newton Celebrates stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

To start, I die cut the cutest critters opening the champagne bottle and a couple of glasses from Neenah Solar White paper using the coordinating Newton Celebrates Die Set and Newton’s New Year Die Set. Then I stamped the open images from Newton Celebrates and Newton’s New Year stamp sets using a copic friendly ink and colored everything with copic markers.

As always, I’m leaving you all the exact colors used here: COPIC MARKERS E40-E41-E43; R02-R05-R08-R46; YG00-YG21-YG23-YG25; C00-C1-C2; Y0000-Y00-Y11-Y15-Y18; R0000-R11; E0000-E30-E31.

Designing this card, I thought that red and gold colors will fit the New Year Theme perfectly. And so I heat embossed the sentiment and a few spare confetti from Newton Celebrates and Newton’s New Year stamp sets using a super fine gold embossing powder. Then I inked a matching pattern through Confetti Stencil with Candied Apple Distress ink and heat set it with a clear matte embossing powder for a tone on tone look. Finally arranged all the elements on an A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) card base and added a couple of matching sequins adhering them with Multi Medium Matte glue.

That’s all for today! Hope you like this cute card! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous holiday season!

Hugs,

And here’s the complete list of all the colors used: COPIC R22-R24-R29-R37; YG00-YG01-YG05-YG07-YG09; E31-E33-E35; C00-C1-C3-C5-C7; Y11-Y15.

A regular A2 size card base was made from the same Neenah Solar White paper I used before for stamping. I inked a light blue sky using Tumbled Glass Distress ink directly on the card front and added a Falling Snow effect through the stencil with a plain white embossing paste. I finished the layout by die cutting three snow hills with Card Front Element Builder SugarCut and popping the all the layers on a foam tape. Finally a coat of a clear glitter shimmer pen added a bit of holiday cheer to this clean and simple project!

Newton’s Nook Designs Mini Release – Sunflower Days And Gingham

Hello and welcome to the Newton’s Nook Designs Mini release! Today I’m so happy to introduce you two new amazing products! Curious?! So let’s start!!!

You're So Kind #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Sunflower Days stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

This mini September release has reserved us beautiful Sunflower Days stamp set that comes with the coordinating Sunflower Days Die Set (sold separately)! Plus new wonderful Gingham stencil.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving the WHOLE MINI RELEASE a lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

Today I came up with two lovely examples. Creating my first card I started with Neenah Solar White paper and Sunflower Days Die Set. I used the negative part of the die to help me align and stamp the coordinating image from Sunflower Days stamp set. Next I proceeded with coloring using copic markers.

As always I’m leaving you all the numbers of copic markers used on this project: Y00-Y02-Y08-Y11-Y13-Y15-Y17 plus E99 and YR14; E53-E55-E59; YG00-YG01-YG23-YG17.

The card front was embellished with a light blue pattern inked through new Gingham stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. I masked a window in the center of the card front before proceeding with inking by die cutting a circle on a masking paper and then applying the negative part directly on the card front. The sentiment from the same Sunflower Days stamp set was simply heat embossed on a piece of a black cardstock and popped with a bit of dimension.

Working on the second card I switched to Strathmore Bristol paper and VersaFine Onyx black ink since both are meant to be used with watercolor markers.

I stamped Sunflower Days stamp set and then die cut three squares inside the image as my intention was add color only to those three squares and pop them on a foam tape. As I mentioned before I reached to my Tombow markers this time.

In case you’re wondering, here all the exact colors used here: TOMBOW 055, 133, 192, 243, 451, 977, 990, 991.

The card front made from a kraft cardstock was embellished again with new Gingham stencil. I used Antique Linen Distress ink for a tone on tone look. Finally I assembled all the elements together popping on a foam tape the colored squares and the heat embossed sentiment and added more color by adhering a bunch of matching sequins.

Best Witches #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Witchy Newton stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

The last day of the August release has reserved us two super fun and cute Witchy Newton and Happy Howl-oween stamp sets. Both come with the coordinating dies. Plus NND is revealing another awesome product: a frightfully sweet Ghosts stencil.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving both new stamp sets away to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

My first card features Witchy Newton stamp and die sets. Once again I started with Neenah Solar White paper and MFT Black Hybrid ink because they work great with copic markers.

And here’re all the numbers of copic markers used on this project: cat E40-E41-E42-E43-E44; YG00-YG01-YG13-YG67; V04-V05-V06-V09-FV2; Y17-YR16-YR18; RV00-RV02; C3; 100.

I added an additional rectangle panel on top of the white card base where were partially die cut three circles. I used one of them to stamp the sentiment from the same Witchy Newton set, the other was inked with yellow ink to emulate the Moon and the third one – with the matching yellow, orange and violet colors already used on the Witchy Newton. Finally I added a few black glittery bats die cut from Halloween Trio Die Set.

Next come super adorable dogs from Happy Howl-oween stamp set. I used the same materials as on my first card for stamping and Happy Howl-oween Die Set for the die cutting. I colored the dogs with copic markers.

As always I’m leaving you the exact colors of copic markers used here: dog YR30-E30-E31-E33-E35; dog W00-W3-W5-W7-100; YG00-YG01-YG03-YG13-YG67; V04-V05-V06-V09; YR12-YR16-YR18-YR21; Y00-Y02-Y15; R11.

I masked and inked with Wilted Violet Oxide and Black Soot Distress inks a circle window behind the cute Halloween couple.

I also added black shiny metallic bats through Flying Bats stencil along with a few die cut elements covered with a clear shimmer pen. I loooove to work with die cut sentiments and so I decided to add one from Halloween Trio Die Set as a final element for this project.

The card base was made from the same Neenah Solar White paper I used for stamping. I simply added a sentiment from Garden Mice stamp set and then popped the colored elements on a foam tape. Of course, I couldn’t resists adding a few clear sequins and some shine from a clear shimmer pen.
