Christmas Characters SugarCut

And here’s what I came up with for you today! I decided to play with Floral Pocket Tag SugarCut and create a space on the card front where you can insert a gift card, tickets or why not some money!

Joy #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Floral Pocket Tag Die by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

To start, I die cut all the elements from Floral Pocket Tag SugarCut on Strathmore Bristol paper and colored the flowers and the leaves with traditional Christmas shades of red and green.

I used TOMBOW markers for coloring on this project: 055, 126, 133, 845, 925.

The background was framed with a dotted rectangle die cut from Card Front Element Builder II die set and embellished with a beautiful pattern inked through just released this week Geo Snowflake Stencil. I also prepared a die cut sentiment to pop on the tag pocket die cut from Joy Word with Shadow SugarCut.

Today’s Introductions include… absolutely adorable Hey Winter stamp set filled with some holiday cuties and awesome accessories plus the coordinating Hey Winter SugarCut. And more there are two new fantastic stencils: Falling Snow and Geo Snowflake. I’m a great fan of stencils and super excited to get my hands on these new patterns.

And here’s what I came up with for you today! Once again, I started with Strathmore Bristol paper and the coordinating Hey Winter SugarCut. Making die cutting first works better for me, but you can proceed vice versa: first stamp and then die cut the images. The cute bear and a few accessories from Hey Winter stamp set were stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof because my intention was to use watercolor markers.

As always, I’m leaving you the complete list of all TOMBOW markers used on this card: 133,173, 177, 528, 723, 845, 847, 873, 905, 990 plus Turquoise Water Brush Marker from Altenew.

I decided to keep everything clean and simple and stretch more Hey Winter stamp set. So I heat embossed the sentiment on a stripe of a black cardstock and created my own pattern paper repeatedly stamping “BRR…” directly on the card base with the same VersaFine Onyx Black I used before for a perfect match. So much fun and I used only one stamp set! Falling Snow Stencil was a perfect finish touch for my winter background. I inked a piece of Neenah Solar White paper with a light blue shade working from one corner and then added Falling Snow with a plain white embossing paste. I assembled all the elements together with a bit of dimension and a few clear sparkling sequins.

All Occasion Winter Card (ft. Purple Onion Designs)

Baby, It's Cold Outside #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

Hello and welcome!!!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more impatient to share that I’m joining Purple Onion Designs Design Team! Yaaay!!! I’m so trilled to work with their gorgeous and whimsical stamps and hope to bring you lots of inspiration!

Baby, It's Cold Outside #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs #purpleoniondesigns

I’m starting with a “stretch your craft supplies” post working more on the holiday stamps since, in my opinion, they can really cover every winter occasion. I used three super adorable critters from Maggie, Curly, Blizzard sets and stamped them on Strathmore Bristol paper with VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof. Purple Onion Designs has some really amazing stamps for building scenes and so I chose Small Winter Picket Fence and Snowy View stamps. This time in term of materials my choice was on a regular watercolor paper since I decided to paint the background and that certainly require more water than the small images. Finally I could enjoy the coloring process.

As always here’re all the exact colors I used here: Tombow Markers n.N15, n.N65, n.N95, n.126, n.133, n.451, n.491, n.515, n.533, n.553, n.636, n.703, n.850, n.991, n.969.

I let air dry all the watercolor pieces and then started assembling everything with a bit of dimension. I also added a matching bright blue sentiment from Holiday Blurbs I set. Last but not least, I added a small touches of Nuvo White Drops on the background to emulate the falling snow effect.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Tatiana

Holiday Card Series 2018 With Rubber Stamps From Purple Onion Designs

In The Meadow We Can Build A Snowman #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs

Hello and welcome!!!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and so impatient to share last cards from my Holiday Card Series 2018! Thanks soooooo much for all your love and support! May your holiday season be wonderful, peaceful and filled with love!!!

In The Meadow We Can Build A Snowman #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs

This year I had a chance to make a little collaboration with Purple Onion Designs and used for the first time their unmounted deeply etched red rubber stamps. I was really impressed by the quality of their products and even though I used a regular acrylic block for stamping instead of a usual stamping poisoning tool, I managed to achieve good impressions on the paper both with Memento Tuxedo Black and VersaFine Onyx Black inks. I haven’t had on hand the accessories necessary to mount this type of stamps, but simply used a bit of non-permanent runner tape on the regular acrylic block as I needed something to stick the stamps to their surface.

My first card is turned out as a soft winter scene colored with watercolor markers and Distress inks. I used a snowman and a few scene building stamps from Purple Onion Designs, stamped them with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on a Strathmore Bristol paper and then fussy cut with small sharp scissors leaving a little white edge around.

Here’s the complete list of all the colors used:
Tombow Markers n.090, n.126, n.452, n.623, n.673, n.723, n.991, n.946, n.977;
Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers n.50 Yellow, n.70 Orange, n.80 Violet.

I had no problems to get a very good impression with a copic friendly inks too although the stamp lines on this cute fox from Purple Onion Designs are so tiny.  Even the bold sentiment worked so well! Besides I just love this style of bubble speech!

And here’s the complete list of all the copic markers used on this card: YR21-YR15-YR68; YG00-YG21-YG23; W00-W1-W2-W3; C00-C2-C3.

Since I wanted to keep the main focus on the fox and coloring, I opted for a soft tone-on-tone background using a few shades of blue Distress inks and a Snowfall stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs.

Last but definitely not least, we have a fun Christmas stockings. I stamped a few on Strathmore Bristol paper, the same I used on my first card, using the same VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

Warmest Wishes #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs

The color choice was on a traditional holiday reds and greens. I used:

Tombow Markers n.N15, n.126, n.885;
Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Marker n.29 Geranium Red.

I like to get creative with the supplies and think out of boxes and so Snow Fort stamp was looking for me like the bricks on the fireplace. I inked it partially with a brown dye ink and stamped here and there creating the background on this project!!!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Holiday Card Series 2018 – Joyful Tidings

Joyful Tidings #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Poinsettia Blooms stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Hello and welcome!!!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing another holiday card with beautiful poinsettias!

Joyful Tidings #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Poinsettia Blooms stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

To start I took Neenah Solar White paper and die cut a bunch of small elements from Poinsettia Blooms Die Set. Then helping myself with a stamping positioning tool for a quick stamping, I added the outlines on the die cuts using the matching Poinsettia Blooms stamp set and a copic friendly black ink. Next I proceeded with coloring using copic markers as you guessed!

In case we’re wondering, here’re all the exact copic markers I used on this card: YG21-YG93-YG95-YG97; YG17-YG67-G28; G09; R22-R24-R27-R29-R39.

Joyful Tidings #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Poinsettia Blooms stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Creating the background, I played with a fun Argyle Stencil Set. I used three different tones of Distress green inks: Twisted Citron, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint and shifted both layers of Argyle Stencil a few times to achieve a full pattern. I also added a few water droplet and colorful splashes on top for more interest. The sentiment from Winter Memories stamp set was simply heat embossed on a piece of a red cardstock with a white embossing paste. Finally I arranged all the elements on regular A2 size card base and adhered with a bit of dimension.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Tatiana
