Hello and welcome!!!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a sweet birthday card with the adorable mischievous kitty!
It was quite some time I haven’t done a kitty card and so it was time so choose one of the NND cat’s set! The choice was tough because NND has tons of adorable images, but finally I decided to play more with Newton Celebrates stamp set! It’s super versatile and can cover lots of occasions!
To start I die cut the cute kitty in the Martini glass from Strathmore Bristol paper using the coordinating Newton Celebrates Die Set. Next I stamped the outline image and colored it with watercolor markers.
In case we’re wondering, here’re all the exact TOMBOW markers I used on this card: n.N75, n.025, n.026, n.055, n.090, n.126, n.133, n.443, n.491, n.623, n.703, n.800, n.991, n.933.
When I work with cute stamps, I like to keep them in focus and make simple backgrounds. And so I masked the bottom part of the card front with a piece of a sticky tape and inked on top Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet Distress inks. Then I placed on top Confetti stencil and inked again using the same inks to create a tone on tone pattern. A few water droplets added a fun look to the background and finally I could assemble everything and add a birthday sentiment from the same Newton Celebrates stamp set.
Hope you like this cute project and will get inspired! As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Hello and welcome!!!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing my personalized birthday card!
I mixed and matched a lot of fun stuff creating this project! First of all I made my own stencil using the balloon die from Fabulous Frenchies die set. Next I added balloon strings using the coordinating Fabulous Frenchies stamp set and a partial masking technique. You can watch all the process right here.
For the background I used Mustard Seeds, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch Distress inks. The big balloon in the center of the card front comes from Balloon Shaker die set. You can easily give a personalized twist to your cards using alphabet and number dies. My “18” comes from Essential Alphabet die set. The tiny heat embossed sentiment is from cute Newton’s Birthday Bash stamp set. And finally for the accessories I used Fabulous Frenchies stamp and die sets (the same from the background) plus Papa Bear stamp and die sets and Cosmic Newton die set for tiny stars.
As promised, here’re all the exact copic markers I used on my card: RV21, Y02, YG01, BV02.
As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Now let’s see today’s fantastic introductions that include Birthday Balloons stamp set and Party Balloon SugarCut.
I’m very excited about today’s reveals because there’s something about balloons that makes me happy and transforms an ordinary day into a party one. The little Party Balloon SugarCut couldn’t be any perfect and clever. In fact it can be easily used on its own or pared with Birthday Balloons stamp set.
Here’s how I proceeded working on this card. First of all, I die cut some balloons from Neenah Solar White paper using Party Balloon SugarCut, of course. Next I heat embossed the fun patterns from Birthday Balloons set on a few balloons along with the matching sentiment. I reached for Distress inks and an ink blending tool to add colors to the die cuts keeping my hand a bit more heavy towards the bottom part of the balloons and going more easy towards the top to make them look tridimensional. Here’re all the colors I used here: Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers. Finally I prepared an A2 size white card base and popped all the elements on a foam tape just for something little extra.

There’s something about the balloons that makes me happy! And so I just cannot resist to die cut with the coordinating Fabulous Frenchies dies a whole bunch of balloon cuts along with a cute puppy and a little birthday hat! The coordinating dies make the life so easy when you have to do multiple things. I used Bristol paper from Strathmore brand on this project and made the stamping with VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof. Next I spent some time coloring all the stamps with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers.
Here’s the complete list of all the colors I used here: n.51 Lemon Yellow – n.50 Yellow – n.52 Bright Yellow – n.28 Pale Pink – n.26 Light Pink – n.25 Pink – n.45 Pale Green – n. 41 Light Green – n.42 Turquoise Green – n.36 Light Blue – n.32 Persian Blue – n.83 Lilac – n.80 Violet – n.67 Mustard – plus Tombow Marker n.977
While the colored images were drying, I die cut a scalloped frame from Framework Die Set, added some light blue ink on top with an ink blending tool and heat embossed the sentiment from the same Fabulous Frenchies stamp set on a piece of a black cardstock. Once all the elements were arranged on the card base, I added a cute little bow on the puppy’s tail and a few clear sequins.

Happy Tuesday ‘Fetti’s Friends and Fans!!
I’ve popped in today to share my last post made for Reverse Confetti! It was so much fun to join their amazing Design Team last two months and I want to thank them again for this fantastic opportunity!!!
Now let’s focus on my today’s project! Do you remember me making a card using as a background Diamond Stripe Square Die? Here’s the post I’m talking about. When I used the positive part of the die on my first project, I hold in place the negative part with Press’n Seal and saved it for another card since I always try to make more out of my stamps and dies and stretch them as much as I can!
So I started by popping all the tiny pieces of Diamond Stripe Square Die on a foam tape and adhering them on a square 4¼” by 4¼” white card base. Next I die cut and put back in place Candles die while I was coloring them with copic markers. I used again Press’n Seal to adhere all the tiny candles pieces on the foam tape and then placed them on the background all together. The sentiment from Birthday Wishes stamp set was simply heat embossed on a black cardstock and added on a foam tape as well.
Last but not least, I put a generous layer of a clear shimmer pen on the candles and added a coat of Glossy Accents on the candles’ flames along with a few clear sequins.
Hope you like this sweet card! As always thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
