Newton’s Nook Designs Winter Release and Giveaway – Day 1 – Snowman Greetings

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Newton’s Nook Winter release! I’m so excited you’ve joined me today and can’t wait to share with you all the fabulous new products!

All the new Holiday products will be available for purchase on Friday, November 20th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!

Welcome #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Snowman Greetings stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

The first day of the release has reserved us super adorable Snowman Greetings stamp set. I’m totally in LOOOOOVE with this cute snowman image that can incorporate the greeting words inside the sign element! Isn’t it such a fun and clever design? In case you’re interested, you can get the coordinating Snowman Greetings Die set too.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away new Snowman Greetings stamp set to a lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

On my stop of this hop you’ll find a fully copic colored sweet winter scene. To start, as always, I die cut from Copic X-Press paper the snowman shape using the coordinating Snowman Greetings Die Set and my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I saved and used the negative part of the die in the MISTI tool to help me with the alignment while I was making the stamping using Snowman Greetings stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Before switching to coloring, I die cut a few more elements for my scene: three birches from Forest Scene Builder Die Set, a fence from Fence Die Set and a snow hill from Land Borders Die Set.

And here’s the complete list of all the colors used on this project: COPIC MARKERS T0-T1-T3-T5; R30-R32-R35-R37-R39; BG000-BG01-BG02-BG05-BG07; YG01-YG17-YG67; YR12-YR15-YR18; sign E30-E31-E33-E35; E40-E41-E42-E43-E44.

The sky background was inked directly on an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) made from Neenah Solar White paper. I used Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch Distress inks along with my blending brushes to achieve a smooth ombré effect. Next I flicked some super tiny droplets of a pearlescent solution and finished the sky with the falling snow that was added through Petite Snow stencil with a plain white embossing paste. I let the backgroung airdry and then assembled all the elements together with a bit of dimension. As a finish touch I used a clear glitter pen to add a bit of shine to the snowman’s accessories along with Glossy Accents and a white gel pen.

Holiday Card Series 2020 – Merry & Bright (ft. Purple Onion Designs)

Merry & Bright #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - stamps by Purple Onion Designs

Hello and welcome!!!

I’m keeping sharing more examples featuring new absolutely stunning “The Sweetest Little Town” collection of rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs illustrated by Stacey Yacula!

Today I came up with a slimline card that recreates snowy holiday night and features Flannel (raccoon pulling sled with gifts), Street Light and Single Pine Tree stamps. To start, I stamped all the images on Copic X-Press paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored all the elements with copic markers and then fussy cut with my sharp small scissors, leaving a little white edge around.

Wondering about the colors used by me? Here’s the complete list: COPIC MARKERS C00-C0-C1-C2-C3; W00-W0-W1-W2-W3-W4-W5-W6-W7-W8; R30-R32-R35-R37-R39; B21-B24-B26; Y11-Y13-Y18; YG01-YG05; YG21-YG93-YG95; E40-E41-E43-E44.

The slimline card base was trimmed from Neenah Solar White paper at 8 1/2″ x 7″ size and then scored in half so that the final measures (when closed) are 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. I inked the night sky with Tumbled GlassSalty OceanBlueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks using the ink blending tools instead of the blending brushes for a juicy and vibrant look. The snowy or starry effect (as you prefer! LOL!!!) was created with plain white gouache. I diluted a small amount with water, deepened inside a small regular brush and flicked tons of splotches all across the card front. The snow hill was die cut from Newton’s Nook Designs Land Borders Die Set and popped along with all other elements on a foam tape.

Finally the “Wishing You A Christmas That Is Merry & Bright” sentiment from new Holiday Messages stamp set was simply added inside the card.

Holiday Card Series 2020 – Peace On Earth (ft. SugarPea Designs)

Peace On Earth #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Come Let Us Adore Him stamp set by SugarPea Designs #sugarpeadesigns

Hello and welcome!

I’m super excited to be featured on SugarPea Designs blog!!! Today I came up with a bright Christmas card highlighting wonderful Come Let Us Adore Him stamp set.

To start, I stamped on Copic X-Press paper all the characters I needed for this project with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the stamping positioning tool to assure the perfect black outlines. Then I fussy cut all the stamps with a pair of the sharp small scissors leaving a little white edge around and colored all the elements with copic markers. I decided to keep the colors limited and focus on two complimentary shades – blue and yellowy brown.

In case you’re wondering, I’m leaving you the complete list of all the colors used here: COPIC MARKERS B21-B24-B26-B28-B37; Y0000-Y11-Y21-YR24; E0000-E30-E31-E33-E35; E50-E51-E53-E55.

An extended A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) white card base was trimmed and scored from Neenah Solar White paper along with a faux stitched rectangle die cut from Card Front Elements 3 SugarCut. I inked the background with Antique Linen Distress ink from the bottom part, creating the “ground” portion with an ombré effect. The night sky was inked with Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks from the top part of the die cut frame. I flicked a few tiny droplets of a pearlescent solution along with a couple of small golden splotches to give more interest to the scene. I let the ink air dry very well and then heat embossed on top in gold the star and the sentiment that come from the same Come Let Us Adore Him stamp set. Finally I could assemble all the elements together popping the colored characters on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look.

That’s all for today! Hope this sweet Christmas card will inspire you! As always thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Hugs,
Tatiana

Today I played with super cute Woodstock (winter fox mailing envelope), Timothy (hedgehog with gift) and Mailbox stamps. Since I went for copic coloring, I used Copic X-Press paper and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I fussy cut all three stamps with my sharp small scissors, leaving a little white edge around, and then proceeded with coloring.

A beautiful Bakery Background was stamped with a lighter gray dye ink and quickly colored with copic markers, as well, without adding any shading since I want to keep the main focus on the cute critters. For a bit of holiday cheer, I added some falling snowflakes through Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil with a white texture paste. I used the light gray card base trimmed and scored from Simon Says Stamp Fog cardstock to an extended A2 size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″). I popped on top the matching to mail box theme a postage edge rectangle die cut with Newton’s Nook Designs Framework Die Set from Bazzill Peppermint cardstock. Once arranged the colored background and critters, I finished with a heat embossed sentiment from Holiday Messages stamp set placed on a stripe of a black cardstock and a few clear sparkling sequins.

As always, I’m sharing with you a complete list of all the colors used on this project: COPIC MARKERS YR000-YR12-YR14-YR16-YR18; R30-R32-R35-R39; E40-E41-E42-E43-E44; YG01-YG03-YG17; W00-W1-W3; C00-C1-C3-C4; T0-T1; E30; BG0000-BG01-BG02-BG05-BG10.

Holiday Ornament #handmade card by Tatiana Trafimovich #tatianacraftandart - Christmas Roundabout stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

The last day of the holiday release has reserved us a super cute Holiday Post stamp set that comes with the coordinating Holiday Post Die Set. No need to tell you that I’m totally in love with the adorable critters! Plus there’s an amazing Christmas Roundabout stamp set that enriches the NND Roundabout collection and as all other stamps coordinates perfectly with Circle Frames Die and Banner Trio Die sets.

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both new Holiday post and Christmas Roundabout stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

The super adorable critters from Holiday Post stamp set are a way too cute and don’t need much thinking on the card layout! In fact, I tried to highlight the beautiful design of this set with coloring and kept the background very simple. To start I die cut from Copic X-Press paper the critters, using the coordinating Holiday Post Die Set and my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. As always, I saved and used the negative parts of the dies to help me with the alignment while I was stamping the open images from Holiday Post stamp set using MISTI tool and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Finally I spent some happy time coloring the image with copic markers.

And, as always, here’s the complete list of all the COPIC MARKERS used on this project: cat YR30-YR31-Y21-YR24; dog E0000-E30-E31-E33-E35; T0-T1-T3; R00-R20-R22-R24-R46; YG00-YG01-YG07; G20-G24-G46; BG10-BG11-BG23.

An extended A2 size white card base (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) was trimmed and scored from Neenah Solar White paper. I masked two sides of the card front with a sticky tape and inked at an angle the light blue background with Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass dye ink and the blending brush, trying to give an ombré effect that fades into white. Next I stamped the sentiment from Holiday Post set and added a few snowflakes to the background by stamping some with Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue ink, heat embossing the others with a white embossing powder or simply drawing a few with a white gel pen. Finally I popped the colored critters on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look and finished with a few clear sequins.

My second card that features Christmas Roundabout stamp set, turned out as a holiday ornament. This card can also be used as a Christmas home decor or as a gift tag. This time I started directly with stamping on Copic X-Press paper using Christmas Roundabout stamp set. I framed the stamped image with a faux stitched die from Circle Frames Die Set and colored everything with copic markers.

These are all the colors used by me on this card: COPIC MARKERS R20-R22-R24-R26; BG10-BG11-BG23; YG00-YG01-YG07; T0-T1.

A slightly larger scalloped die from the same Circle Frames Die Set was used to create the card base. I die cut the die twice from a light gray cardstock and then glued together the top parts of both layers. An ornamental silver sparkling top was also die cut twice from Ornamental Shaker Die Set and adhered from both sides on the card base. Finally I assembled all the layers and finished with a matching grayish silver bow and a few clear sparkling sequins.
