Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Newton’s Nook Winter release! I’m so excited you’ve joined me today and can’t wait to share with you all the fabulous new products!
All the new Holiday products will be available for purchase on Friday, November 20th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!
The first day of the release has reserved us super adorable Snowman Greetings stamp set. I’m totally in LOOOOOVE with this cute snowman image that can incorporate the greeting words inside the sign element! Isn’t it such a fun and clever design? In case you’re interested, you can get the coordinating Snowman Greetings Die set too.
Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away new Snowman Greetings stamp set to a lucky winner so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!
On my stop of this hop you’ll find a fully copic colored sweet winter scene. To start, as always, I die cut from Copic X-Press paper the snowman shape using the coordinating Snowman Greetings Die Set and my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I saved and used the negative part of the die in the MISTI tool to help me with the alignment while I was making the stamping using Snowman Greetings stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Before switching to coloring, I die cut a few more elements for my scene: three birches from Forest Scene Builder Die Set, a fence from Fence Die Set and a snow hill from Land Borders Die Set.
And here’s the complete list of all the colors used on this project: COPIC MARKERS T0-T1-T3-T5; R30-R32-R35-R37-R39; BG000-BG01-BG02-BG05-BG07; YG01-YG17-YG67; YR12-YR15-YR18; sign E30-E31-E33-E35; E40-E41-E42-E43-E44.
The sky background was inked directly on an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) made from Neenah Solar White paper. I used Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch Distress inks along with my blending brushes to achieve a smooth ombré effect. Next I flicked some super tiny droplets of a pearlescent solution and finished the sky with the falling snow that was added through Petite Snow stencil with a plain white embossing paste. I let the backgroung airdry and then assembled all the elements together with a bit of dimension. As a finish touch I used a clear glitter pen to add a bit of shine to the snowman’s accessories along with Glossy Accents and a white gel pen.
