The Design Team is kicking off this week, filled with TONS of new stunning stamps, dies and stencils, showcasing amazing Destination Christmas and Christmas Campers stamp sets! Both sets comes with the coordinating Destination Christmas Die and Christmas Campers Die sets. There’re two new absolutely wonderful Tiny Trees and Reindeer stencils, as well!

Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both new Destination Christmas and Christmas Campers stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!

On my stop of this hop you’ll find two cute and simple winter scenes both colored with Tombow markers! To start, I die cut all the shapes I needed for both cards from Strathmore Bristol paper using the coordinating Destination Christmas Die and Christmas Campers Die sets. I saved the negative parts of the dies and used them inside my MISTI tool for a perfect alignment while I was making the stamping using Destination Christmas and Christmas Campers stamp sets and VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Finally I proceeded with coloring.

Working on the first card featuring Destination Christmas sets. I created some snow slopes and hills using Land Borders Die Set and Tim Holtz Distress cardstock. I inked the sky portion and the top part of the hills with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink using the blending brush; added some tiny drops of a pearlescent solution and let everything air dry. The sky was enriched with a few stamped tone on tone snowflakes that come from Christmas Campers stamp set. I used the same Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink for stamping and then added more falling snow with some splatters of a white gouache.

Finally I started building up the snowy scene by adhering the top part directly to an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) made from Neenah Solar White paper and by popping the hills with a bit of dimension.

As always, I’m sharing with you all colors used on the first project featuring Destination Christmas sets: TOMBOW MARKERS N25, N55, N79, 062, 173, 195, 373, 847, 856, 905, 992.

As the previous card, Christmas Campers were arranged on an extended A2 size white card base (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) that was trimmed and scored from Neenah Solar White paper. The winter scene was die cut with Land Borders Die and Circle Frames Die sets. The sky was inked with Shaded Lilac and Mermaid Lagoon Distress inks using the blending brush, embellished with a falling snow applied with a plain white embossing paste through Petite Snow stencil and then covered with a vellum layer to give more depth and dimension to the background. Finally I added a simply stamped matching sentiment, popped the colored stamps on a foam tape and finished with a few clear irridiscent sequins.

And here’s the complete list of all the colors used on Christmas Campers card: TOMBOW MARKERS N15, N65, N75, 055, 195, 243, 623, 723, 761, 845, 992.

  1. Wonderful cards. I love the Christmas camper card. The colors are so pretty, and I love that vellum layer that adds depth, like a light fog. Brilliant. And all the other layers and beautifully colored elements. What a wonderful stamp set!
