Hello and welcome!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a sweet rainbow card featuring my ever favorite mischievous kitty in Newton Dreams of Italy stamp set and a very simple copic coloring.
Working on this post, I decided to create a card with a message of hope represented by a rainbow background and some cheerful colors to send all of you good vibes. In term of stamps, my choice was on the sweetest Newton Dreams of Italy set. To start, I die cut all the shapes on Neenah Solar White paper, using the coordinating Newton Dreams of Italy Die Set. I saved the negative parts of the dies and used them into my MISTI tool for a perfect alignment while I was making the stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Next I proceeded with coloring.
As always, here’s the complete list of all the colors used on this project: COPIC MARKERS E0000-E00-E30-E31-E33-E37; B0000-B21-B24; R20-R22-R24; RV0000-RV00-RV02-RV10; C00-C1-C3-C6; Y00-Y15; V0000-V01; YG0000-YG00-YG01-YG03.
Creating the background, I trimmed a 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″ rectangle large enough to cover the whole card front of the extended A2 size card from the same Neenah Solar White and then divided it onto five parts with a scalloped cloud die from Sky Borders Die Set. I inked every die cut piece in a rainbow order with Shaded Lilac Distress, Peacock Feathers Distress, Twisted Citron Distress, Squeezed Lemonade Distress, Wild Honey Distress and Picked Raspberry Distress inks. I also flicked a few tiny shimmer droplets on the inked clouds for some interest and glued all the pieces together on the card base. Next I popped the stamps on a foam tape along with a heat embossed sentiment from the same Newton Dreams of Italy set and finished with a few clear sequins.
TIP: I purposely kept the copic coloring very light and simple on this project to make the images work with a very colorful background without overwhelming the card front.
That’s all for today! Hope you like this cute and sweet card! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
