Hello and welcome!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a birthday boy card!
The idea for this project came from my little nephew. He is fond of trucks and so I thought to stretch new amazing love themed Love Quarry stamp set and use it for a boy card. To start, as usual I die cut three trucks and a few traffic cones using Love Quarry Die Set and Strathmore Bristol paper. I stamped the coordinating open images from Love Quarry stamp set helping myself with the negative parts of the dies for a perfect alignment into the MISTI tool. Next I colored the stamps with water based markers.
As always, I’m leaving you all the exact colors used here: TOMBOW MARKERS N25, N79, 055, 062, 452, 856, 905, 993; ZIG CLEAN COLOUR REAL BRUSH MARKER n.61 Light Brown.
I built a simply inked background for the trucks using Hills & Grass stencil with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink for the ground portion and Clouds stencil with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink for the sky. I prepared a regular A2 size (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) card base and trimmed the inked panel slightly smaller. Before popping all the elements on a foam tape, I added a “BIG Wishes” sentiment from Holding Happiness stamp set since it fits nicely the truck theme.
That’s all for today! Hope you like this cute and sweet card! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
