Hello and welcome!
I’m so happy you’ve joined me today and even more excited to be on the Newton’s Nook Designs blog sharing a sweet shaker Christmas card made with a small but not less adorable Christmas Haul stamp set.
You’ll be reading this post on Black Friday Day and so shopping was obviously a perfect theme to play with. I started with Strathmore Bristol paper and the coordinating Christmas Haul Die Set to die cut the lady holding a bunch of packs and a few additional gift boxes. I used the negative part of the dies into my stamping positioning tool to help me with the alignment while I was stamping the images from Christmas Haul stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Finally I colored everything with watercolor markers.
In case you’re wondering, here are all the exact colors used on this project: TOMBOW DUAL BRUSH MARKERS 243, 296, 452, 703, 761, 847, 873, 912; ZIG CLEAN COLOUR REAL BRUSH MARKERS n.71 Flesh Colour.
Working on the shaker element, I trimmed a rectangle from Neenah Solar White paper slightly smaller than a regular A2 size card base and die cut a circle window in the center. I adhered a piece of a clear acetate from the back side of the shaker part and popped the whole element on a foam tape. Before sealing the shaker window I inked the card bade through Music Stencil with Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon Distress inks and then blended more ink directly on the base to achieve a light background. Finally I filled the shaker part with some colored boxes and a few clear iridescent sequins. The sentiment from the same Christmas Haul stamp set was simply heat embossed on a strip of a black cardstock and popped on a foam tape along with the lady and left-over gift packs.
That’s all for today! Hope you like this cute card! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
