For my stop on this hop I created two sweet summer scenes! Working on both cards, I started with the coordinating dies. I ran them through my die cutting machine using Strathmore Bristol paper. I saved the negative parts of the dies and used them into MISTI stamping positioning tool for a perfect alignment while I was stamping the images from Newton’s Perfect Wave and Scuba Newton stamp sets with VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof.
Next I colored all the stamped images with Tombow markers.
And here’s the complete list of all the colors used on the first card featuring Newton’s Perfect Wave stamp set: TOMBOW n.N75, n.055, n.062, n.133, n.195, n.452, n.493, n.743, n.933, n.969, n.977, n.985.
The first card turned out quite clean and simple. I used just released yesterday Clouds and Waves & Splashes stencils with Over The Moon and Clear Skies dye inks from Simon Hurley to add color directly to the regular A2 size card base. At this point I also added a simply stamped sentiment from the same Newton’s Perfect Wave stamp set. Arranging the kitty on the card front, I added more waves die cutting them with Sea Borders Die Set and popping on a foam tape for some dimension and interest.
The stamps from Scuba Newton set were colored with Tombow markers as well. I used the following markers: n.N79, n.025, n.055, n.133, n.195, n.373, n.476, n.676, n.761, n.847, n.905, n.990, n.933, n.977, n.993.
The card front is made on the watercolor cardstock from Tim Holtz since it works well with Distress inks. I used the hill side from just release yesterday Hills & Grass stencil to create both sand and waves. My color choice was on Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon and Antique Linen colors. Finally I added the sentiment from the same Scuba Newton stamp set and popped all the colored elements on a foam tape.
