Hello and welcome!
Today is my turn to enter into the SugarPea Designs monthly Mix It Up challenge and I prepared this simple and cute birthday card for you!
In case you want to play along, as well, here’s how you can do that: you have all month to play along and make a project using just the inspiration, just the sketch or Mix it Up and use both! It is totally up to you! You can find all the rules at SugarPea blog right here!!!
To start, I die cut and stamped a few cute critters and heart-shaped balloons using Elephant Parade and Balloon Numbers stamp sets and the coordinating Elephant Parade and Balloon Numbers SugarCuts. I used VersaFine Onyx Black ink since it’s waterproof and Strathmore Bristol paper. Next I proceeded with coloring using Tombow markers and a small water brush from Pentel.
As always here’s the complete list of all the TOMBOW MARKERS used on this card: n.N.55, n.N60, n.N79, n.090, n.703, n.723, n.800, n.835, n.885, n.991.
I added a bit of color directly to the card base through Concentric Circles stencil, creating the background for my critters. I used Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink and darkened the center with Fossilized Amber shade. Once the sentiment from the same Elephant Parade stamp set was heat embossed on a piece of a black cardstock, I could assemble all the elements with a bit of dimension. Finally a few clear sequins added a finish touch to this card.
Hope you like this cute and simple card! Now it’s your turn to link up your creations for a chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate from SugarPea Designs! Can’t wait to see what you create!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!
