On my project I decided to build a stamped background using one of the sentiments from Thankful Thoughts set. To start, I masked a rectangle directly on the card front and repeatedly stamped the sentiment using different shades of orange inks for an ombré effect. Next I die cut and stamped a cute squirrel and a few small elements using new just released Harvest TailsNewton’s Thanksgiving stamp and die sets and finally colored all the elements with copic markers and assembled everything with a bit of dimension.

As always, I’m leaving you the complete list of all the copic markers used here: E30-E31-E35; squirrel Y21-YR23-YR27-E99; YG01-YG95; YR00-YR04; Y13-Y15-Y17.

Once die cut the sloth with the coordinating Slothy Coffee Die Set from Strathmore Bristol paper and stamped the coordinating image from Slothy Coffee stamp set with a VersaFine Onyx Black ink, I colored it with a water based markers. At this point I also added a few cups to my design using Cuppa Cactus stamp set and Cuppa Cactus Die sets. Next I die cut a stitched frame using Frames & Flags die set and blended some yellowy-orange tones of Distress inks through Sunscape stencil. Finally, before assembling everything together, I simply stamped the sentiment from the same Slothy Coffee  stamp set.

Thinking about the design of this project, I thought it would be fun to recreate a tea bag. I stated with a new Tree Rings stencil and once the embossing paste was dry, I die cut a tag from Tag Times 2 Die Set in the center of the card front. I also use a small top element for my tag from Fancy Edges Tag Die Set and finally gathered the tag and the label with a heat embossed sentiment using a baker twine. Next I die cut using the coordinating dies, stamped and colored a Tea-Rex from Tea-Rex stamp set along with a few small cups from Newton Loves Coffee and Coffee & Wine stamp sets. Please note that these sets don’t have the coordinating dies, but the stamps can be easily fussy cut with a sharp pair of scissors. Assembling this projects I played with different layers and gave some dimension using double or three layers of a foam tape.
